Wow! I'm converting 2 Islam and I've been wondering bout marriage and how 2 find the 1. It's felt impossible b4 cuz of the restrictive nature of Islam and dating. I've also been worried cuz I've been told it's hard 4 a woman w a child 2 find a good husband (tho a family member who converted yrs ago, assures me it's not). This gave me quite a bit of insight 2 choosing a partner. How 2 make sure we r compatible w out breaking any rules. As well as reassuring me not all men r looking 4 young, innocent women. This is great advice 4 any1 seeking a partner. I'm very glad I was led here. This gives me hope and something more solid in my search. Honestly, I was talking 2 a family member earlier and I was left feeling very uncertain if I would or ever could choose some1 I couldn't truely know. However, these r logical solutions 2 a difficult challenge. :) May Allah bless you. Thank u so much.
I find myself watching older videos on the subject of marriage and finding the right one. I was just telling myself: "I don't care if I come across a 20 years old video, as long as I find tips & answers in the islamic way" ; and here I am. Excited to watch the video and learn more :) Jazakum Allah khayran
The statement by the brother at the end was really beautiful, TabarakAllah. Never heard the Ayat explained in this way before. And the whole lecture overall was among the very best and most practical on this topic. Jazaa K'Allah Khayr sister, really appreciate it.
I’m sorry to hear you had a bad experience with your first Muslim husband. I think your lecture was great and I’m glad you decided to embrace Islam and become a true Muslim. Mashallah.
Honestly, I'm afraid of getting married but here I am ended up watching this video because I do wanna get married one day but I'm still so not sure, sometimes being alone is just my thing and don't wanna talk to anybody. I can't imagine myself getting married and always have someone around me everyday. Hopefully this video can change my mind
Yes and the intimacy part for me is also cringy and scary. The fights you’ll have and tears. Sometimes I think about the good times I may have but sometimes not. May Allah grant us generous blessed spouses. Ameen

Aameen, you're absolutely right sister. Let's pray for those girls. Indeed we all are a creation of allah people fail to understand and runs behind beauty only while finding a girl for thier son.

I think you come to realise how much blessing there is in a marriage that is successful and both spouses genuinely love each other. It seems to me that there is so much that could work against a successful marriage.... the sister mentions the differences at the begining.. I keep hearing people talking about soulmates. I can't help but think this is just chasing a dream. Perhaps I should be more realsiitc, take the next person available and just hope it works out. Ive been looking too long..

"I always pray to Allah,to make me marry the man I truely love and write his name in my fortune forever.I know he has flaws and also something good in him.But it won't make annoyed to adjust with his falws."
I'm really struggling with so much grief... I thought I had my soulmate and I was married to him, but he threw everything away so casually, even when I gave him so much forgiveness and patience. I just can't imagine why he wouldn't give the same for me, because I was so so so so completely sure that he loved me as much as I loved him. What I learned from her: In short, watch for his/her temper. See his/her worst. 1.Try to see that potential spouse at his/her worst behavior.. not just at his/her best. See if you can handle to live with it for the rest of your life. U can do this by finding out how that potential spouse treats his/her mother and other people ESPECIALLY UNDER STRESSFUL SITUATION. That way, you'll see how he/she will treat you and behave with you under STRESSFUL Circumstances in the future behind closed doors. (See how he behaves when he/she is mad and sad. If he/she has anger management issues and if you can handle it..every single day). *Not how he treats you or others in public in a very cool/happy situation. 2. I do not need children to be happy. This is the issue I have with the Muslim Ummah. Because the obsession with kids and mothers can actually make people like me feel like I will never bee good enough. And if you can only accept a female as your wife if she only can have kids , you did not love her in the first place. Honestly.
MashaAllah, I wished I have watched this video before I married. I too did not get to know him and unfortunately it was not good. Alhamdulillah, Allah(SWT) is good I have learned to take my time, get to know him and how is his walk in Islam also pious.
A pious man who respects his mother and loves the prophet , who is physically fit ,is tall , little beard on him, loves to eat coconut, likes an island life, his aim is to become special slave of Allah. But what the man at the end said, was actually all that every Muslim man and woman needs to learn and reflect upon to be ready for marriage. Alhamdulillah.
Also, its better not to expose another muslims shortcomings.
"My marriage did not work" would have been enough". Allah Knows Best.
Only Allah Knows what condition of emaan we will die in. That person's sins may land up on you. Please be careful about talking about other muslims and specially ex spouses and their failures (or your for that matter) in a negative way (cause of slander/backing/exposing what Allah chose to hide).
What the lady was talking about is almost love?
You cannot know or love someone untill you live with that person...so knowing or loving before marriage is not feasible. At most you can find each other appealing to look at and talk to. They must have the same goal and level of Emaan.
Deep love comes with deep understanding and loving Allah first.
If both love Allah, only then can you love each other for the sake of Allah.
Your love would grow, behaviour would be in accordance with Islam and be able to compromise happily where needed too.
Nothing here is meant to be perfect but easy to bear, overcome and enjoy ...if shared with a like minded partner in faith.
No human is perfect. Except our Prophet (pbuh). We all have faults and must learn to overlook faults too in a gentle, happy and fun way. It brings peace and contentment. The end goal must be Jannah. If both know that...it works.
I did however, agree that the only way to know how a person really is even in faith, is to find out how they react when they are angry!!!
Bad people flip immediately!
You see a side you would normally never believe existed!
Allah Knows Best.
Even if the anger is justified, the way it is restrained or shown says a lot about a person. May Allah Forgive us all for our short comings in our deen and Grant us pious spouses. Ameen.
