This song and whole record reminds me of when Prince made 'Girlfriend', singing from a woman's perspective, with a pitched up voice. I kept thinking it was a male singing whilst listening to the record. Incredible album... You have to respect emma's artistry. The production is really rich as well..This is a record you'll stick on down the line and it will still give you the same goosebumps..

I think this song is great and I don’t think it would have worked with her regular voice, much as I love it. This record is a fun project, I’m glad Emma was able to find enough inspiration in this voice to write an entire album
Anyone who can't see that this is a truly amazing album is a boring conservative idiot that just wants everything to be exactly the same - this is just sheer brilliance, and the woman has real balls to release an album that is both this good and obviously from the comments below, this challenging! The songs are just so well written, and even the blues numbers sound so original and fresh (where so many artists can fall into the dull blues trap, she flies with it...) This one is a keeper.

Marvin Gaye was told his album 'What's Goin' On' was dreadful and his record company only published it very reluctantly... but now it's considered one of the best albums ever, so people can be wrong about these things! I suggest you listen to this without prejudice, it's a real classic.
