Very helpful. The Rubicon Panzer IV I have just built does have a hole in all its gun iterations ( the kit offers Ausf F/F2/G/H versions). It was a little fussy, but the detail is superb, and that includes your very astute observation re thicknesses of material. IMHO Rubicon look convincingly real, so that one’s eye wants to linger, whereas Warlord kits look a little more approximate - ie, like models. Many thanks.
SmittyM14 I think Rubicon are just edging it at the moment, but the newer models of Warlord with the cards and smoke markers is grabbing the lead back. I have a new Warlord Firefly to put together. I'll do an unboxing of it and post it on my channel. Good luck with the quad flak and the 88, I waiting for Rubicons to come out :)

Good review. The Flak 88 definitely has some fiddly bits but it's a good kit I think.
