  • We conquered the 500 miles from Antigua to Bonaire in a little over 3 days, despite some crazy squalls it was a lovely downwind sleigh ride and it was a treat to arrive to a new culture in the Dutch Antillean island of Bonaire. Bonaire is known as one of the top spots in the world for diving and now we know why! Literally the whole island is a massive reef and marine park with hundreds of diving and snorkeling spots - you can see why all the number plates on the cars say 'Divers Paradise' and every second person has dive tanks in the back seat! So what better place for our 12 year old son David to have his first independent dive! We also enjoyed exploring the rest of the island with its wild side - donkeys wander the streets, cactus juice is the local liquor, salt pans and slave huts, flamingo lagoons and lots of fabulous restaurants!
We are the Robbins family sailing on our boat named Nikau.
We are a family of 5. Our 3 kids are doing NZ correspondence school on board. They are growing to love it! What's not to love about 3 hours of school a day and then a different playground for the afternoon every day!
We've traveled from New Zealand to Sardinia in Italy to pick up our boat and we plan over a few seasons to sail her back to New Zealand.
We hope you enjoy following us on our adventures!
We would love to hear from you. Especially if you are interested in doing something crazy like we are! Maybe we can help answer some questions you have?
    Thanks and enjoy.
