Santi completely missed Mark's point about Ethereum's roadmap and then focused on his brief analogy to the internet

Holy shit guys
The amount of information packed in every single minute of this episode is insane
I learned a lot from every one of you guys and loved it so much
Thanks guys, you guys are all amazing
We just need to make that shared staking more popular where you need 3.2 eth each
Empire roundup episodes are the best ones!
You guys tend to have some of the most thoughtful conversations in the space, and this one is one of your best. Thank you for sharing your insights!
I love Blockworks, I watch every show on every channel...... I appreciate you guys dearly....... Saving up for Permisionless in Utah..... I live in SW Washington state. I HOPE and PRAY i get enough money saved up for the trip
I cant wait to me you guys 🎉🎉🎉🎉
You guys should be chatting about unified liquidity because 1) it depracates monolithic chains 2) it unlocks app chains
The A-Team together; thanks guys... Hey ya'll should get on Drip Haus everyone's doing it 😜
Just one more comment on the pre-confirmations: I don't think that the explanation was entirely correct. Preconfirmations basically enable faster confirmation of including a specific transaction/bundle into a block. So any validator that is in line will be able to take the preconfirmation and promise that they will include it into the block. If they don't do it. They get slashed. I believe that what was described in the pod was mostly about Execution Tickets when the validators can compete in an auction to propose a block in the future and get the MEV. But overall, there were very good points and I think that the discussion was great.
Honestly thought this was an April-fools joke or sorts when these guys started talking about "mega-eth"
Little did I know...
Santi is correct about Bitcoin, I think of Bitcoin as a store of value...... its my digital gold, but but it still is looked upon by trad fi is a risk asset and its used as a hedge to increase sharp ratio of portfolio's....... its currently a hedge sgainst givernment inflation.
The future is multi-chain, which requires interoperability, which requires CCIP, which requires LINK.
Amazing episode! Please, do the Yano, Santi, Mike combo more often. I think that you are a great combo. Just wanted to the Mike's point about Ethereum's lack of focus on UX and what users want: I totally understand the viewpoint and I agree that optimizing too much on the hardware is probably not the optimal solution. However I don't agree that we should primarily focus on what consumers truly appreciate. Yes, it is natural that people want cheap gas and fast chain. That's understandable and we all want to deliver it. But I think that Ethereum's thesis is that we should first build robust and resilient foundations that can support any innovation we come up with and then provide the best UX on top of that via the innovation. Solana took a different path and I respect that. I enjoy learning about Solana. But I think that we currently see tradeoffs of that approach as well. But I agree that we should pay attention on improving UX as well - especially on the fragmentation of experience like hoping between L2s or even paying any gas by the end-users.
On the precomfs point - actually, Zeta is just building an L2 on Solana and they are also using pre-comfs too to enable even better UX despite they are building on a very fast chain.
So BASE isn’t user friendly enough? And Base IS more than friendly. Yeah right…. :/. The UX is amazing on BASE and getting better. SOL is not that much better and SOLs not fast enough to make the change from ETH to SOL…. SOL just doesn’t offer enough to leave ETH.
@@taccntb4345 not saying that the UX is better at any of that chains. I believe that we should try to build UX that enables users access applications across chains without manual bridging. I think that it should be mostly abstracted away from them.
@@kristiklaudy I don’t disagree with what you said.

Regarding vampire attack. Yano, you were so pale that the vampire reference seemed appropriate. Sorry for confusing you dude 😅
Santi!
BFR!!😊
😂
Would you put a multi trillion dollar L1 that when down multiple times like SOL did? And what happens when you make the decision to put your business on SOL when it goes down while ETH has a 24/7 up time…?
Spicy Santi, love it......... talking about the decentralized sequencer
ORDINALS WILL GO NOWHERE…. where is your head , M?
Funny how Santi is like a Bitcoin Maxi but about Tennis. He only plays "real sports"... not Pickleball.
If you have 32 ETHs to stake & validate, you have 10x the funds for hardware of a Solana validator. Food for thoughts.
SOL is not worth as much as ETH making your comparison just plain wrong. Food for thought.
32 ETH...? Im staking 2 ETH on Metamask... Do you have a low iq, dude?
more ads pls
Mega ETH? I'm.. just... Wow .
If vitalik could go back & rebuild eth, he would essentially build Polkadot
wow Marc from Coinshares?? Bringing some European thoughts hehe
Also, Santi's mic is better (existent)!
Why the fck is SOL getting a free pass by the SEC if its centralized???? Its a well known fact that SOL is validated by only 1000 validators... thats an exreamly small set and proved just how centralized sol is compared to eth... Why is SOLs price so high if it's a freaking security??? WTf w/ the double standards?
The duality of Santi:
Love Solana, monolithic all the way, it is the future it flips Eth almost for sure. L2s are bad. Oh wait, Sol is down, and I have Blast, Bera and MegaEth bags - L2s are the future. But wait, L2s are bad if no fraudproofs. But not Blast, it is revolutionary. Feels like a constant schilling of bags, no wonder he is invited to all cap tables. When Bera comes out that will be revolutionary I bet.
But personally would enjoy the pod without Santi. I already know his bags and tired of hearing his low-level, non-coherent, non-sensical schilling of those on an otherwise good, serious and more or less balanced pod.
This is what needs to be done in youtube land.
Enough ETF/price talk, get back to the dev
cheers
how many years are we going to be so goddamn early guys. Enough of that nonsense, we are no longer early so we need to build more useful apps.
