I really don't care if the 1273 has the Neve sound or not. It simply looks like something that's useful and sounds pretty good based on the video. There are only two types of gear for me. One that works and sounds good or it doesn't. Yes I have high end stuff, but I really don't care what the branding is. I always go for sound. I'm pleasantly surprised how promising these units look like.
The behringer compressor actually sounds really good! Good quality as well. Im gonna try to get my hands on the 1273 too im interested to see how that sounds.
@@diyrecordingstudio yeah but the difference with the real neve compressor and the behringer clone is that the behringer actually sound slightly less warm and a little better in the higher frequencies than the original neve unit. I know the wa73 sound a little warmer than the original 1073 and the 1073 sounds better in the upper midrange to me. If the 1273 can actually not have a thicker bottom end and sound clear like the 1073 i might have to own that too lol especially for the price. N the fact im actually praising behringer at all sounds insane to me lol
I have the 369 and it’s a really great compressor. I love it 😍 I also pre-ordered the 1273, mostly because of the transformers because they are just really good. Both units for 1140,- is a steal 🤟🏼 The Membrini stuff is nice, I recently bought their SansAmp plugin which is really nice too 👍🏼
@@diyrecordingstudio Yeah I was saving up for a bus comp which would be around 1800 bucks then the 369 came out and I decided to try it. If I wouldn’t like it I could return it anyway. Turned out I really like it. Then I also was looking for a eq but was hesitant between the Heritage (which has pre-amps) and the new Drawmer 1971. Then I heard about the 1273 and decided to pre-order it. The Heritage and a Tegeler Creme would be around 3300 so 1140 is just crazy. I heard that the Klark Teknik 2A-KT is a really good LA2A clone combined with the EQP-1 you’ll have a really nice tube vocal channel for an affordable price. I like what Behringer is doing with making very affordable gear and I suspect that they might be going to build 500 series soon, they have a lot of experience in the eurorack stuff so I expect some more gear coming, they said that they have a lot more up their sleeve 👍🏼
I've actually heard the KM 84 has more mid-forward than the KM 184 not more low-end. In fact, I have two KM 184s and I can't imagine more low end (so much that you better move that mic out from a boomy source). I'm very interested in the Mic Parts SDC 84, thanks for the tips. I haven't built any DIYRE kits but I own the EQP 5 which really does a decent job, close to the Audioscape EQP-1A.
The km84 rolls off less steeply at around 150hz and flatter in the high freq. The kits are a great option if you want to get into building. Both mic parts and DIYRE have excellent kits and instructions.
These things are sometime past their patents expiry. I think It’s all good to have a patent on something so the engineer or company can make their money back from r and d but after a while they need to become public domain so people can take those ideas and expand on them too.

@@diyrecordingstudio no doubt by now the AMS Neve corporation have made their money back. Imagine if the 1073 and other devices hadn't been patented/trademarked though? I'm speaking specifically about modern day inventors/innovators and what they have to deal with. See my comment reply above.
Can’t say I’ve seen high end manufacturers drop prices due to Behringer’s clones. Feeling like they know the folks who buy Behringer stuff for the price won’t take the leap to high end gear anyway.
Yeah that’s a very good point. Depends on how good they can make these clones sound. There’s always gonna be the premium end of the market though, you’re right.
You're paying for warranty, craftsmanship and name brand. Similar to Air Jordans and Lexus. Also depending on how something is built it may be easier to repair than surface mounted technology.
Yeah I agree with both comments here, sometimes you are paying for a badge. API vs CAPI is a good example of this. Other time they are cheating out somewhere and that might be vital to the sound of the device. It’s tricky.
I see this comment all the time. I own all this stuff from the cheapest to the most expensive. I don't know of any cheap clone in the analog recording world that's the same as the original expensive counterpart. There are cheaper clones that sound fantastic, but they're still different.

Yeah I feel the same honestly. I have a lin76 clone that is very much this for me. It was so cheap and does the thing I need it for.
I just received the 1273, build is solid, it's very heavy and the control feel quality . I don't have a hardware eq/preamp, this is my first.
How does it sound?
Will be anxiously awaiting your build and sound tests on the new DIYRE unit!
I'm anxiously awaiting its arrival! hahaha
As a sound skulptor owner, please do a 573/73P shootout!
Love the news series you've got goin!
Wanted to ask the same. Ss owner here
Ahhhh yes!!! I definitely will for sure.
Good to come across an Aussie channel. I hear you on prices.
Cheers man. Thanks for leaving a comment. Yeah it’s crazy here some of the markups. It’s why I got into the DIY stuff in the first place.
Aye some good stuff in this video!! That Suede effect sounds pretty cool, stoked to hear what is to come!!!
Yeah I hear they have a single coming out tomorrow? ;)
The behringer compressor actually sounds really good! Good quality as well. Im gonna try to get my hands on the 1273 too im interested to see how that sounds.
I reckon the 1273 will be very similar to the wa273 from warm audio. They look very similar in circuit design.

I'm waiting for the 600 series units. With the 24+/24-/48+ power rails it should allow for much more headroom. Dedicated side-chain is also a plus!
600 series! Is that a thing!?
Great video! Thank you!

They are $699 + tax at Sweetwater. Australien prices are shown including tax.. if you convert the US taxes in amount to AUD it’s pretty close.
Cool, thanks for this, i didnt realise they dont include tax, thats sneaky!
Hey, do you also have 500 series from JLM audio ?
I don’t have any jlm stuff yet. I should definitely hit up Joe Malone though. He’s a local Aussie. Excellent products.
I already pre-ordered the 1273 from Sweetwater they said it will be here in the fall
Oh lucky you! I’m definitely trying to get one for review. I think it will be close to at least the warm audio one.
@@diyrecordingstudio I heard audio in a vid on the site and it does the thing.
What's going on demonstrates why it's so important for patents, trademarks and copyright.
How so? (If you don't mind my asking) Genuinely curious. Thanks.

The first move most high end /high margin manufacturers do as sales slump is increase their prices.
The lyric to that song is swimming in the what? Its driving me nuts...
Hahahaha it’s “love” but sung like “lurve”.
It’s a catchy ass hook for sure.
Nimbrini is known as the only company that could replicate the Vox amp
Oh so good to know. My favourite all time amp. I might have to try it.
😎
Australian Dollar have a diffrent exchange course !!!!! US Dollar is not the same like Australian Dollar !!!
