I just bought a LX280 AWS 48 inch mower deck with 500 hrs and am amazed by the build quality! The AWS shaved considerable time off my lawn mowing time! Haven't found much on RUclips on the LX280 model! Glad I found your video on the LX200 line! Great video! Hope you post more on the LX200 and the LX280 aws if you can find annything! Thank you for uploading this video! How did you convert the VHS tape to a digital file? I have a few old VHS tapes that I'd like to convert over, but I'm not sure. Also, it's neat seeing the 44C mower deck; I'm assuming that was a prototype and the idea was eventually scrapped. Interesting to see it in this video, never knew that it existed.
Loving these videos. The music from 3:40 to 5:59 sounds like a tribute band making mashing up like three different The Black Crowes hit songs lol. Also. I wonder why John Deere gave up on the green frames of this era. Before and after the LX and the 300 (335/345) tractors just about all of the frames were black. Its like they wanted to give their lawn tractors the appearance of the utility and farm tractors where just about every inch is Deere green.

I had a 2000 LX255 and it was a great mower. Sold it to my father-in-law a few years back and still running great.

I guess to match the 4000 series compact tractors and the 400 series garden tractors, which had black frames, engines and drivetrains.
