@@annieo6527 Imagine if they had social media back then? She'd be untagging photos every time she pursued a new Forrester man. She'd be with Thorne one minute and her FB Memories would show her with Eric and Ridge.
I can't remember those days without crying in my eyes. How simple we were living a simple life before the world of social media. I was 12 when I was watching this series, and I loved Taylor and her beauty.
*_"I believe a lot of things Brooke. But I will never believe that you h a t e my brother. And for you to even say that makes me wonder if you're not going overboard to hide something. Like a part of you that still loves him._* This is exactly what I said yesterday! After 13 seasons of pining for Ridge and calling him her "destiny" it just _sounds wrong_ when Brooke talks about him this way now. Thorne is actually speaking from a moment of psychological clarity and character insight (even if it doesn't last). On some level, Brooke would still rather be with Ridge, Thorne is just the substitute for him, and she's trying too hard to hide that fact even from herself. The famous quote from Hamlet literally applies here: "The lady doth protest too much."
Exactly. When Brooke saw Ridge’s commitment and intense love for Taylor when she almost died giving birth, she tried to convince herself that her destiny had been misplaced. She poured all her fight into conquering Thorne, the other Forester. Her fairy tale could still come true but with prince #2. But we all know Brooke loves to be in love. And when Ridge gives the go ahead, she’ll be back with P#1.
Yes! This confirms the "double narrative" read as well. Objectively, we see Thorne as actually having _more clarity_ now than he did when he proposed to Venice, even though this clarity can't last because it was, ironically, the result of a deception. But knowing the characters' history, we _sense_ that Brooke and Thorne aren't real, and that this decision to marry Macy that Thorne is now starting to regret is actually the _right_ decision for Thorne, although he will not see it that way yet.
I actually wish that Brooke _didn't_ know yet that Ridge was playing her. They should have dragged the charade of Taylor and Ridge breaking up for weeks all the way back to LA. Easy for Brooke to say.. oh i was tricked bc it was one instance with Ridge. It should have gone on for weeks to see just how many times Brooke would fall for it and "comfort" Ridge.
Brooke calls Thorne like she's his boss (well, she kind of is lol) .. She needs to talk to him. NOW. He should have said "wrong number".. And hung up on her stalking self.
And Macy got those words twice from Steph.. The wedding at season 8 and now. Brooke would give Rick, bridgit, fake baby Eric, and def Thorne... To hear those words from Steph 😂
@@TriniT21yes, I noticed that too - how similar these words were to what Stephanie said to Macy in S8. And just like in S8, Macy has just "rescued" Thorne - that time it was from pri son, this time from Brooke.
Ridge may have known the last thing Rick needed was a lecture or any i-told-you-sos and he may have known Rick was kicking himself more than anyone else could do it for him.
One of the few rare moments Ridge and Ric actually act like brothers. To bad they ruin it by having him go back to blaming ridge for breaking up his family and getting back at him by targeting his daughters.
I liked that Ridge was there for Rick and i'm mad that the show destroyed their relationship.I would have been okay if the show wanted to create conflict between Ridge and Rick because every relationship has some sort of conflict in it but they haven't to ruin their relationship to do it.
Brooke is something else. Phoning Thorne in the middle of an intimate family gathering to bully him into seeing her. The audacity! Sure, Steph's words to him at the end of the episode are emotionally manipulative. But given that it's about Brooke, those words are necessary and warranted.
If I closed my eyes I would think u were talking about Taylor needing a restraining order for Brooke from stalking Ridge 😂 This woman is literally a stalker
*Stephanie and Macy switch roles* The fact that Stephanie is _literally saved_ by Thorne and Macy's marriage, being so uplifted by the news that she can miraculously walk again, reinforces what I've said before about this storyline being a variation of the trolley problem, where Stephanie's and Macy's fates are now _switched._ Eric, Ridge and Taylor have evidently been successful in saving Stephanie's life. But Stephanie's upward trajectory is linked to a _downward trajectory_ for Macy, who (as the show points out in this episode) is a recovering alcoholic, and who has now unknowingly entered into a marriage based on a ma ni pu lation, with a man who is deeply infatuated with another woman. This marriage is as detrimen tal to Macy's health as it is beneficial to Stephanie's health. And the only person who seems to sense this is Adam, who was also the first to remind the viewer of Macy's alcoholism a few episodes ago. Macy's father may be the one who knows better than anyone that Macy is not as strong as she projects, because he was the one who saved her when she tried to unalive herself only a year and a half ago, and is the only one who knows about that incident.
Love the "health" connection! And yes this proved and visualized your argument by having Stephanie literally rise while Macy is scheduled for a fall. And it also proves what you've said before about the B storyline and how little the Forresters care for the Spectras' well-being. Ridge, Taylor and Eric _were_ ultimately successful because all they cared about was Stephanie, not Macy.
@@NewYorkNick0607yes, and the Forresters' way of looking at the Spectras was also shown in the scene where Sally told Eric that Macy had gone to Venice, and his obvious thought was how that might be exactly the missing ingredient needed for his plan to be successful. He didn't stop to consider whether or not involving an unknowing Macy in the plan might be a good idea _for Macy._
I have to agree on Brooke. This whole Thorne situation seems like too much overreacting. Most of that first coming from Eric and Ridge and now Brooke but also Thorne. One calamity after another. I was thinking that Thorne seems to understand this situation he is in with Brooke. Even though Ridge was tricking Brooke, she fell for it. And Brooke does protest too much. The more she says the deeper she digs the hole she is in. 🤷♀️ Thorne has been a witness too many times to Brooke and Ridge and how they operate. He should not be fooled… but I think winning over Ridge may become too strong a desire? 😮
Can you say a part of Ridge didn't like kissing Brooke? He couldn't have faked it all because Brooke knew him too well and she might have known if he was faking caring about her
AARGH. Brooke has convinced herself that she is Juliet and Thorne is Romeo. Star crossed lovers who have never loved so deeply with family keeping them apart. She’s conveniently dismissing her recent excitement at the idea of reuniting with her true love Ridge. It’s Brooke’s World and everyone else’s feelings don’t matter. 😡
Yes, but Macy actually thought it was another woman (an illegal immigrant) who was working at Forrester. The woman was into Thorne but he was secretly into Taylor.
@@TriniT21yes, that was why they separated and started divorce proceedings. But they didn't actually sign the divorce papers until Thorne faxed them to Macy because he was hoping to marry Taylor (at which point Macy had changed her mind and wanted to work on the marriage).
*Thorne didn't fall for Claudia (legal immigrant) but she still played a very big part in the end of the Thorne-Macy marriage.* Macy hadn't been willing to risk the company BUT Thorne had pity and secretly hired Claudia and let her work for Spectra, hid Claudia when INS searched for illegal workers, tried to help her family and beloved that Claudia could be killed if sent back. Thorne missed out on the Forrester Christmas dinner (Macy was there alone) because he had brought Claudia a bonus check that she had forgotten and then ended up stranded with the family.
