💜FYI - this is how they conceptualised the song: They created a very old and sad story called, 'La Città di Smeraldo' that takes place in a small town in Italy ( in the 16th Century -1500's). The story's about an 'ugly' man who hid in an old castle alone, even though he was a gentle good person, because of his looks he received lots of hate & cruelty while growing up. He never opened his heart to anyone. Eventually if anyone tried to approach him, he hid in fear. So he became bitter and angry. His one happiness in life was to plant beautiful flowers in his walled off garden. One night a woman appeared near the man's castle. She jumped over the garden fence and stole a flower. This angered the man at first. So he watched his garden all night. But when he fell asleep, the woman took another flower. This continued for several nights. The man pretended to be asleep and watched the woman steal a flower. He started becoming curious about the woman. He began waiting for her. Without realizing he started waiting for her to come and each day began to seem a little brighter. Following after her one day he realized that she was selling the flowers that she stole from him to try to make a living. The man falling in love so desperately wanted to help the woman. But he was afraid she would be terrified by the way he looks if he approached her. He 'knew' she would never be able love his 'grotesque' appearance. He came to a conclusion that the only way he would be able to help her is to keep himself hidden and let her continue stealing flowers from his garden. The man decided to make a flower that doesn't exist on the planet. So that the woman could sell them at a expensive price. He began to create the flower in his castle. Listening to this song and to Jimin’s Lie usually feel like being shown an x-ray of my soul. They resonate very strongly with me for personal reasons, but apart from that I also had a visceral reaction to hearing precious, angelic *Jimin* of all people sing a line about being “ugly”.

Hi Ms Poetic. Hope you're well. I had a horrible weekend. My 12 year old Chihuahua passed away Friday then today we got an 8 week old puppy. We did it fast because my other dog was very sad and lethargic. Now he's just mad cuz we have a brand new baby. So glad you are reacting to this absolutely beautiful song. Love ya

He had great encouragement from Suga. Even in the early days Suga told Jimin I knew what your voice would sound like. Individually they each have phenomenal voices and together - they are unreal.
