I read up on this thoroughly, and there's something I find so interesting: The asteroid didn't kill all dinosaurs, but no animal > 50 lbs survived the apocalypse. I find it impressive that tiny therapods (walked on 2 feet), who were most likely at the bottom of the food chain, were tough enough to adapt to the abrupt cooling of the planet. They burrowed and found shelter for centuries until the dust settled, grew plumage and began to take wing (birds), and carry on the dinosaurs legacy 😎

Well too bad for them earth before got such thin atmosohere and the asteroid didnt burn that fast unlike today we got thicker atmosphere where comets and space debris are burned at the atmosphere and thats the only good thing I know about a planet having a thick atmosphere like Jupiter which has thick atmosphere

The atmosphere during the dinosaur era was much thicker than the atmosphere we have now.
Regardless of the atmosphere, an asteroid more than 10 km in diameter will still find a way to mess up today
But why did crocodiles and turtles survive while even small dinosaurs got nuked into oblivion?
thats why we have an abundance of smaller animals that burrow or lived in water... the asteroid acted as a filter..nothing above a certain size survived.

Buddy... Whales, Rhinos and Hippos are mammals, Turtles and Crocodiles did not branch out from Dinosauria, the only true dinosaurs alive are birds, since they descended from the Dinosaur clade.

This is hypothesis ,if this would happen to whole world then how come many species survive or plants because dinosaurs where all over the world and due to this destruction whole dinosaurs died and then also scientist found different dinosaurs in different era fossils in different time.All this is hypothesis because they can't found out the real reason so what they found and they make real story.

Yes, there is, a 200 mile wide hole in the Yucatan peninsula made approximately 65 million years ago by a 6 mile-wide object from space , heavily layered with iridium, an element extremely rare on earth but common in asteroids.
