Mark, we do believe you get the most out of each log you saw. The sawing is great when the log is less than desirable. Enjoy the show as we have enjoyed yours. That pile sure looked neat and clean when it was done too.
Hi Mark. As I told Ed. This Friday's eve log is much better. Yes. I know it's pallet grade. I did a lot of pallet construction. Companies in Vermont & Upstate N.Y threw them out in the late 1980s. As a farmer of 3yrs at that time. Pallets help build animal stalls, doors, & other uses. The Upstate N.Y paper company threw out huge piles of white pine pallets 5 feet by 3 feet, 5 by 4s & 5 by 5s. The boards were 4 quarters. The 5 by 5s were 8 quarters thick! I helped build a lot w/ pallets. ( The white pine pallets were my favorite. Very easy to come apart. The other oak, ash, & popular pallets were challenging to get apart. The oak, ash, & popular pallet were $90.00 then in Vermont. Anyway. We had a few Friday night eve's " booms." 😂😂😂😆😆😆😁😁😁 Say Hi to Ed, ZZ , & Hank. 🥰🙂😉👍❤️💜🙏🏻🙏🏻🙏🏻🙏🏻🌳
Any video is a good video That is the kind of oak I used to take off pallets, sand down, and make knick knacks holders to sell at the flea market. Had a very nice grain.
Mister Mark I was wondering if you had ever seen a shotgun mill I think that is what it was called the Sawyer road on the carriage there was one in the county where I live my dad had a portable welder and used to fix it sometimes he would pour the babbit bearing for them the Sawyer was a older black man and if I remember correctly he's died everything from the carriage love your videos and you and Eddie and ZZ be safe and have a great day Sam
I sure wish you knew someone with a flat bead and log claw-picker-upper. NE Ohio got slammed this past Tuesday with 75-105 mpg winds & blowing rain. Many big, old trees snapped and uprooted. Hundreds of power poles snapped. Our power was out for over 60 hours. We are all safe except for freezers full of formerly frozen foods. Someone here is getting some terrific timber. Just catching up with YT videos from last 3 daze. Peace brother
Hey Mark, you probably already know this but, You and Eddie could use headsets intercom similar to what driver & passenger use on a motorcycle. To definitely impart important or serious info (great safety item), but you could also just shoot the poop. Oh also been watching for a couple yrs from the logging capital of the world British Columbia!!! Lovely little mill you fellas have created 😊
Eight o’clock at night them oak boards will last a long time on pallets, been working with a lad who has autism good with his hands show him once and he can do it , building a cattle grid on the job got him tack welding cutting pipe and painting then laying a trailer floor he burnt my drill out so I got a Milwaukee it’s better than maketa it was two years old and crap , friend of mine has a Milwaukee and it’s eleven years old on it’s third set of batteries there not as cheap as maketa but they are if they last longer and two years warranty anyway you guys have a nice day

I have to ask. Do you guys ever run across locust? It's hard as hell, i know, but can make beautiful flooring that's crazy durable. I'd ask about Osage orange but i know you are too far North for that.
@Keepithonest7 ½" yea I thought they looked purdy thin I didn't think they cut anything much under ¾" but I guess they do, I know your not Mark but thanks for the answer I was curious about it.
@markgalicic7788 ok I was just wondering it looked almost paper thin on the video I can't remember seeing you saw anything that thin before but my eyes are getting bad lately thanks for the reply!
You made my day! You said "Crick" instead of "Creek" (long e), and I thought "I'm not the only one!!". Growing up in Montana, that's what we always called a small, flowing body of water. Pat McManus, and outdoors author wrote a wonderful story about the difference between a crick and a creek. If you can find it, read it. It's hilarious.

Hello , I just talked to John last night and he is doing well he said it's been raining every day there and he hasn't been able to film anything. but thanks for asking.
You go to some show just to get 'Steamed'? Steamed as in mad? While you conveniently got Eddiie and ZZ to do that for you daily? What are you getting steamed at? Or are we talking Turkish Bath steamed, where you 'take a steam' but NOT like a steam thief?
@@garybessey2184 Well it's a horse show too, don't forgo the steamed horsemeat, I go straight to the steamed horsemeat booth when I get there. Their steamed tractor is a bit chewy.

we have got lots of rain here over the past week.
That log turned out good. When I first saw it roll on to the carriage (Marks lasting his time with that) but no not too bad result.
not to bad Bob.
You could almost make a book outta that cut with the wood being so thin.
knotty book.

Looks like Little Donny needs sharpening
just a big cut for a small saw.
If it smells like a barn ... it's black oak.
for sure Richard.
hey mark good video how do you count the footage on that pallet wood?
thanks Andruw , we charge per board $2.00 for a 1/2"x6"x8'

thanks.
Gonna make some more saw dust. 66& wood, 33% sawdust.
Like using a Ferrari to get groceries haha
true Mark.
That oak ain't no joke and as fricknjeep is so fond of saying it is a very unhappy contestant in this pageant.
very true.

Who is the new fella? Seems to fit in ok and has the required beard LOL
that's Mark.
A little nicer piece of oak than the last. I know you are making 1/2" x 6" for pallets , but what is the minimum length they will buy? 43"? good video
For pallets at our mill we cut as short as the customer wants 12 “ up to 144”
