RUclips recommending random bands to me is what I imagine it was like to buy records/cds when trying to find new music where you just pick the coolest album art and see if its good.
Great album! Wonderful cover art! Tolkien inspired, perhaps. Really fantastic music. It has transported me backwards in time to the late 70's / early 80's... back to my days @ university, playing D&D on the weekends, going to the renaissance festival, and day dreaming about hobbits and dragons. The dragon art work reminds me of the original artwork that was in the hard-back book version of "The Hobbit" - The cover had a whimsical drawing of Bilbo's round door, and inside there was the map. Bilbo was to have supposedly drawn the map of his adventurous trip "There and back again". I think all was drawn by J.R.R. Tolkien.
Why should i pay for a spotify subscription if they sponsor crappy authors and also they have none of the goody goodness of this stuff? Love Thangorodrim! I toast for a long life filled with many more releases!
THat and they censor a lot of artists. If Varg ever started making political work, he'd be screwed. The real music is in the DIY underground, irregardless of genre.
I rarely ever like any video on this site but this deserved a like for a reminder of some of the best and most captivating feelings of immersion I have had for a long time. It's like being transported into a fantasy realm and experiencing all of the joys, trials, tribulations and wonder through the soundscape. Many of the dungeon synth works evoke this feeling and are timeless pieces of masterwork craft.
Since Jeremy Soule probably isn’t going to be composing the next Elder Scrolls game soundtrack, can we get this band, Old Tower, Old Sorcery, Caladan Brood, and Summoning to be the soundtrack??
Atop the earthen peaks, scorched black by aeons of fiery breath, circled by fearsome beasts of mythology. It is there where legends are birthed and heroes forged. Prophecy foretold; when the land rivets with strive and struggle the primordial peaks shall echo, and from there shall rise one born of the wyverns and the dragons.

unique? its a seminal style. Much loved in the maps of Tolkien, born in the hands of medieval scribes. A tribute to old myth, a reminder of the ongoing tale of the fantastical journey of man
@@mr.dalerobinson I challenge you then to show me one single Tolkien map, and one single medieval illuminated manuscript in which dragons, volcanoes, and the sky looks like that
@@ewaldseiland8558 Idk what that guy says about medieval, but as for Tolkien he is right, check out Torin's Map from Hobbit - it is both in book and is shown briefly in Fellowship of the Ring. The Mountain look rather similar as well as the dragon, main difference is the colour.
For long the land has remained peaceful; without strife, without turmoil. Then the earthen peaks rumbled and from this rumble was born fearsome beasts of fiery scales, who then descended upon all the land. One by one the kingdoms fell as they were reduced to smoulders, for nothing could hinder or halt the great dragons in their campaign of destruction. Eventually the peaks rumbled once more, this time letting out a terrifying roar as ashen miasma filled the now reddened skies, while burning rock rained down. After the earthen peaks had settled, after the lands had been scorched black, after the ash had settled; all that remained was a barren world, irritated by the red burning sky. Yet from this unprecedented calamity would rise a single man, one born of the same scale as the dragons themselves, to bear the flame, the very flame that brought ruin, and turn it into the instrument of prophecy. Soon kings and warriors were heralded from all corners of the world to praise the new flame, in a newborn defiance against the tyrant rule of the dragons. This defiance came to be called: The Everflame pact. Now it is time for the brave and the adventurous to rise to the occasion and band with the Everflame pact; so arise, hero, seeker of justice, arise, adventurer, seeker of new land, arise soldier, seeker of treasure. Arise! Arise all to the great mission to defy the draconic order!

I have honestly no idea what Dungeon Synth is, I guess it must have something to do with DnD. But I want to thank you for this amazing music! The first 15 minutes just squeezed a nice beginning of a chapter out of the depths of my imagination. It is about a king who just fed a foreign embassador to his red dragon. :)
Nah, it's not specifically about DnD although people do like associating this genre with it. Mostly it's reminiscent of old fantasy videogame music, using MIDI-like tones to set a sorta dreamy mood. The genre actually originated within the black metal scene in the 80s and 90s, when the first song on a black metal album followed this style. It has evolved into its own thing since, and now it has many subgenres of its own.

Well if just the prologue is over 97 minutes, I can't wait for the whole thing!
Its actually a compilation of previous works but yeah.
This is the artist's earliest works from 2015-2016 collected into one package, not a current new album.
