    Really nice solo, Chris! It’s nice to see you get loose and just play. The teaching and learning on your channel is great, but this is what it’s all for.

    Loving the triplets. This is extremely melodic and adept phrasing, and doesn't get caught up in worrying about flashiness (don't mean that to sound like a dig--you've obviously got chops). Very mature, solid, pleasing playing, you can hear a lot of depth, experience and love for the form in it.

    Hey Chris! Iv been wondering about how to get better; not just improvising, but having fun while doing it and have the motivation to learn more and more. Does the guitar matter because all I have is this telecaster for the tone quality? You're excellent at guitar and huge inspiration.

    • @ChrisWhitemanGuitar
      @ChrisWhitemanGuitar  5 лет назад +1

      The guitar isn’t so important, as long as it plays comfortably. Ed Bickert was an amazing jazz guitarist and played a Telecaster.

    Hi Chris... great lines..
    Just a little help.. you suggest to follow and think to and chord while improvising or move in key center and think to a melodic idea?

    • @ChrisWhitemanGuitar
      @ChrisWhitemanGuitar  6 лет назад

      Thank you Filippo. I think about each chord and I think about key centers as well. I like to play the harmony of each chord and play something melodic too.

    I also have a Gibson ES125T and absolutely love it. What is the gear set-up you use to get your jazz tone (i.e., strings, amp, etc)?

  • @zombyfrank
    @zombyfrank 4 года назад

    Very nice! I'm glad I found your channel. Are you using the styles that came with band in a box? I have used biab 2017 and couldn't get near as good a backing track sound as you are getting! Either 2018 was a significant upgrade or I need to try harder :)
