i am not omani. But even after all these days why do i still feel sad that he is not wid us anymore.y does my heart become so heavy whenever or wherever i see his majesty Sultan qaboos? i dont understand arabic well but why do i still keep watching his videos that i dont understand? why do i miss his majesty's amazing smile and laughing openly?what is with in him that deeply connects to all of us emotionally? Now i am convinced that he was not a normal human,he was something above that..like many stated.."he was not a king, he was our father"😥😭
He is indeed among our good brothers and son of adam our forefather, we as a human has the instinct to judge right and wrong and without prejudice , may his soul be cleansed and be placed with safety. Regards from Bangladesh
Masha'Allah! He READS English very well and very very slowly (just two words at a time) so that everyone can follow his speech. My respect to the person who wrote this wonderful speech for the Sultan.
Sultan Qaboos was a greater man than his reading of his speech may suggest. I taught English in remote Omani villages for four years - 1988 to 1991. We lined the road when he drove past (he was at the wheel), but I never "met" him. He devoted himself to improving the lives of his people, without making the mistake of making them go for opulence and ostentation. He was a wise ruler. This is the first time I've heard him speak English. His priorities for Oman were Health and Education. There was some petroleum, but much less than in the other Arabian countries. There were Brits involved in the teaching of English, but the work that most of us had to do was very basic. I, as a Sri Lankan was packed off into the mountains (referred to as the Jebels); what else could one expect? Opera arias at the end of the evening? Sultan Qaboos loved western classical music. The Omani Symphony Orchestra of 120 players was said to be good by any standards; Qaboos had once said that his Desert Island Disk would be Beethoven's 6th (Pastoral) Symphony. He loved everything from Bach to Rachmaninoff, so I have now read. we had no internet then for me to see him close up, but almost all of us expats working in Oman knew that his people were so friendly because of this very kindly ruler.
I had a British expat neighbor who was stationed in Oman for a decade or so. He said that Sultan Qaboos would occasionally walk the streets of Muscat at night, seemingly without any visible security. My friend first discovered this when he had become drunk, and was stumbling back to base. He had noticed an old man dressed in white walking past him with a smirk on his face, which made my friend smile. Someone then told him that that was the Sultan himself. Apparently, this was his way of bypassing ministers and allowing his citizens to speak their troubles directly to him, so he knows exactly what is happening among the commoners. There is a reason why he never faced any serious unrest during his rule: He made sure to listen to his people, not just Yes-Men.
What an agony and a deep sorrow we felt and still feeling as Omani people for the lost of his Majisty the Sultan Qaboos, May Allah bless him and we pray to Almighty for his soul to rest in peace 😢
May he rest in peace in heaven, he truly was the best leader and father we could've asked for, he did all he could do, was humble, and thought of his people before himself, You truly will be missed your majesty :(
A great leader. The Nation Builder. A gem of a kind who transformed the whole nation and uplifting the citizens to an unbelievable level within a span of just 49 years. The world has a lot to learn from him and his countrymen.
