Díky za skvělé video. Zase jsem se přiučil fíglům jak se dostat, při čištění do těžko přístupných míst lehce a bez větší námahy. Hodně štěstí a radosti z práce.
I doo love to see old tools brought back to life and used as intended, you mentioned making a stand for your swage block. I remember watching a video some time ago by Gary Huston, might get some idlers
I got really lucky with mine - got it from an old fella who took possession of it when the business he was working for as a boy went bust, owing him wages. It was about the same size as yours and brand new at the time and spent the next half century buried in his workshop wrapped in greased burlap. It came to light when he had to move to a smaller place and he sold it to me for about a dollar a pound. ..... he would not take more as he'd got it for free ;
Wow, that's really cool! My shoeing instructor knew a diver that found a 500lb anvil in the shipyards still coated in grease. He cleaned it up and still uses it. Thanks for watching and for the story!
Lol, no they said it was brand new - probably fell off a ship when they were unloading it. Oh wow that's another cool story! That's sad he scrapped the stand but at least you saved the rest! I love finding and saving old tools because they don't make them like that anymore.
@@FarmsteadForge I'm long retired now and my main hobby is collecting and restoring tools. My sons have my love of tools and all things practical, the eldest being a forge manager, working with special high temperature alloys - I mess with little bits in my forge while he gets to play with 5 ton forgings every day ;
Just today I scored a swage block with a stand (as well as 5 post vises). Thanks for making this video and the next. Even though I have an antique stand the block does not fit in the slot for the standing on edge part. It's heavy, very heavy...
Great Job. Am jealous and I hear ya on the sad story,(shedding tears now), of the BIG swage blocks. Some people,,,ughh. Oh, and let me know how much I need to send you in cash for all those tools ya got. Please keep it under $100 bucks,,,LOL. Figured I'd give ya a laugh. Awesome also about the "Old Tricks" as i've been doing that myself for years cleaning old cylinders on motors that were froze before relining etc... Take care and Gods Peace Jayce~
Lol... you're a dreamer! That is probably where my Grandpa picked up the trick, he rebuilt motors for everybody around the country for years. Thanks Chuck!
Oh no, that’s a terrible story. Isn’t it just nuts how many of us, professionals like you and hobbyist like me, would kill to have all that old “junk”?! I don’t want many things, but I do WANT a good, old London pattern anvil. Problem is everyone knows I want one!
It's sad how much cool old stuff has been lost to history because people didn't realize what they had. Be patient, good things, or perhaps, London pattern anvils come to those who wait 😉 Thanks for watching!

Thanks, I'm glad you picked up a usable tip! Thanks for watching.

I've got the stand made already and the video comes out tomorrow, thanks for the suggestion though! Thanks for watching!

Wow, cool score, that is a lot of post vises!
Came out great Jase, I love the wire brush idea on the sawzall.
It worked great...until it didn't! But I was pretty much done with it at that point so I can't complain. Thanks for always watching Randy!
@@FarmsteadForge I know how that can be.
They look fantastic!
Thanks Kirt, and thanks again for sharing that ad!
