Sculpting Icons - sculpting tutorial

  • While working on the Justaerin I got a load of questions on sculpting details. Time for some more tutorials! This second one focuses on sculpting Icons. I show how I go about this by sculpting in layers.

    This was extremely helpful since I struggle to get really clean lines like that. I'm guessing for something intricate like the Mark of Chaos Undivided, it's the exact same process? Like you do each point in the star separately to avoid trying to sand a circle with lines in the way?

      yeah clean, sharp lines are the hardest to figure out, but just keep at it! For the chaos star I would start with the circle, then add the smaller diagonal points first, then the bigger horizontal and vertical points later. If you want to turn the points in to arrows you can do that in steps too. First the points, than add the arrow tips on top of them once they're set. Good luck!
