This would be a lot easier to understand if we could SEE what is being done as she is talking about it otherwise just put a PDF out there. Watching her talk conveys no additional info.
it looks like you are starting out with a symetcrial ... then the second half looks like you have a asymetric/symectric tacked to the bow and no pole ? ! Sort of a 2 for 1 deal I suppose ?
Please try and work out who your audience is before you make a video like this. The title suggests your audience are novice spinnaker sailors in which case you need to go back to basics with your terminology and explanations. I just don’t see the value in this video at all.
You've got 20 seconds of black at the start of the video, a mixture of sails in the video, and plenty of people on board, not short crewed at all. Totally underwhelming.
Is she speaking chinese, or some other language I don't understand. I hope someday I will be able to comprehend what the heck she is saying. I really need to take some sailing classes or hangout on a sailboat with a sailing expert.
Can't you synchronize the video with the audio. That's so annoying that I have to look at the ceiling , close my eyes and just listen to the audio to get anything useful out of this video. If you're translating from some obscure language then I can understand. Do what you have to do then.
Wonderful, well explained simple :-) thanks Pip!

6:30 - might want to check those spellings "sheeet" and "realease"
3:19 - "stabalise"
especially for an editorial magazine
Hello, do you also teach sailing?
it's all easy in 5 knots of breeze.
KayZee1957 then start learning with that setting 😉
5 knots? If that.
It was said: Fully crewed and short-handed. So the 5 on board maybe the full crew.
Well done, thank you.
Gybing the pole isn't clear to me. Is it released? Helpfull vids btw! Thanks.
there is no pole with an asym spinnaker
@@FlightRisk11 maybe watch the video?
Nicely done.
How can you be fully crewed and short handed?
Good explanation!
Sorry couldn’t see what she was talking about
Not very clear. Needs much more video focus on the sail position and use of diagrams.
Hard to follow ... would be better to show what the crew is doing, than to watch Pip talking!
this is the standard for these segments.
It took 20 seconds for your intro to start, what the heck
Haha true
I thought my laptop was bugging

Gybing the symmetrical spinnaker Short Crewed - with Five on-board ?......Eh ????
You've got 20 seconds of black at the start of the video, a mixture of sails in the video, and plenty of people on board, not short crewed at all. Totally underwhelming.
You need a new editor for these videos. I am available!
they are gybing a gennaker (asymetrical) not a spinnaker (simetrical)!! the title is wrong!
CoolCool.

likley a good idea.
