MY THOUGHTS ABOUT CHRISTOPHER AND THE VIDEO:
"That's the guy Adriana, my uncle Tony. The guy I'm going to hell for."
Christopher Moltisanti is one of the most tragic characters to ever appear on a television screen. His dreams and desires of becoming a filmmaker or working in the film industry made him so much more realistic compared to all the other characters. At times he's the only character who projects the reality that comes in life. Christopher knew deep down inside that he had a passion for film. We see this in season one "This is Scarface, final scene, fucking bazookas under each arm, say hello to my little friend." But Christopher ultimately came to the realization that if he did leave New Jersey, the mafia, and Tony, that it would result in him getting killed.
He was so realistic and so relatable to the everyday viewer. His battles with friends like Paulie and Tony Blundeto, his battles with addictions and depression, growing up basically alone, and discovering who he really is along his journey in life towards his later years as an adult. Christopher will always be my favourite character, and we can thank Michael Imperioli for his tremendous work throughout the entirety of the series. This is why this weeks video was a little longer than usual and took more time to release. I wanted to make sure it was done right for my favourite character.

The saddest thing is Christopher had a chance to escape the life but once he betrays Adriana, he sealed his fate.
Nah… Had he run off with her, she would have have been dead within a year. Can you imagine them living as a poor, normal couple in hiding in some small town? He saw his future when he saw that poor, miserable dad with a fat wife and screaming rugrats. He would have hated Adriana for putting him in that position. He definitely would have been hitting the bottle and doing drugs. Aid also loves that flashy life more than she admits. Would she have put up with those beatings if she wasn’t rewarded with Cartier watches and Manolo Blahniks? Probably not.

It's weird, You know. A bunch of emotionally unavailable men trying to connect emotionally with a man that is trying to run away from himself. It's such a twisted mind boggle that it can't come out as anything else other than ridiculous.
Ive never seen any other actor play a junkie and someone who’s high on drugs better than Michael Imperioli. He did a great job with the character

@@dh9951 that movie is a lot closer to magic realism though. everything is heightened and very over the top. it makes sense because you're watching the movie from the perspective of a junkie, of course. but michael imperioli pulls off someone struggling with their addiction better than anyone. to me the only thing that comes close is the corner, but that was only 6 episodes.

Once he turned Adriana in, he was living on borrowed time. Tony wasn't planning on killing him, but at the end he viewed Christopher as too big a liability.
Which is insane when you think about it. He did what he had to do because Adriana was a snitch and it probably added to why he was killed
@@jordanking6852 exactly, which sums up the tension in the baptism scene. I think tony was just waiting for the last fuck-up to take him out and it was the accident. And what I fucking hate the most, THE MOST, is that they got into the accident because Chris wasn’t sober and tony wasn’t even helping with that! He laughed about it at many times! If tony really cared about who was gonna head the new jersey crew he would’ve invested time and energy into Chris’s healing and he might’ve avoided the hit on him in the finale, but how can you be mad and take an executive decision to kill someone on the spot based on bottled rage against them esp. when you refused to support them trying to become better? The Adriana thing pisses me even more, he came to tony crying, literally came clean the minute he knew, at least he was honest about it and he begged tony that he couldn’t do it. I really think Chris could’ve been someone as happy as little carmine if it weren’t for the toxicity of new jersey.
It seemed to be "a murder of opportunity" like what Walter White did to Jesse's "sleeping" girlfriend. Just the "simple adjustment" needed to eliminate "the threat".
Those two scenes always struck me as being similar.
Adriana turned him and the family in. And Christopher stayed loyal to the family. Being the sole reason why he didn’t go to the grave alongside Ade the same time. For being so blind not seeing for a year long that she played both sides. As well as Tony “viewed” Christopher as the most itching liability from the start. From the pilot. Not at the end. Not in the end. Not post Adriana. But the entire show. He was trouble. Tony is relieved once he is finally dead.
@@noble_experiment Chris was LUCKY he didn't get killed WAAAAYYYY earlier. All the shit he done dude for doing drugs ALONE is a death sentence in the mob. But Chris came at Tony with a gun m EVERYTHING. Tony gave him chance after chance after chance and everytime Chris fucked it up. It was when he looked in the back seat and seen that Chris's baby would have been killed that made him say "Enough of this" and kill him.
It’s also telling how when Tony killed Christopher, almost the whole fandom wanted to see Tony die at the end. It’s weird but I was genuinely cheering for Phil Leotardo at final arc. Even James Gandolfini himself stated that after Tony killed Christopher, he started to hate the character he was playing.

I sometimes think that david chase made a mistake by not showing tony get shot in the back of the head in front of his family at the diner. Other times I feel the ending was clever for not being obvious. I still believe the series ends with tony getting murdered by the members only jacket guy.

@@Chiefkeefsosa666 He said originally Tony was set to die in NY but they decided to have it end in a diner but he NEVER alluded to if that means Tony ended up surviving or living -- but since we know the original ending had him dying, and the meadow scene of her failing to park in time just as Tony had an opening to his right and her hurrying in just a moment late I think it's safe to say he died
I find it so sad though that Christopher gave his new wife the life Adriana always dreamt of: get married, have a kid (even though she couldn’t get pregnant), and move out of the apartment they had into a nice house. I always found it so interesting the apartment they always lived in. So dark, there was never an episode where there was sunlight in the apartment. It was a depressing atmosphere

@@CaliCarolynwhen you’re in your addiction everything is dark … when I was in my addiction my place was always dark , my friends in their addictions also had very dark places .. idk what it is maybe we’re projecting where we were at mentally idk but when I seen their apartment like that I thought that it was a realistic touch .. idk just my opinion/observation

So true. And almost nothing good happened in their apartment. Quite the opposite. Chris kills Adrianna’s dog by accidentally plopping down on her while in one of his high states, it was the location of Chris hitting Adrianna multiple times throughout the series, was the place Adrianna reveals to Chris she’s been working with the Feds, Chris puts his hand on Danielle’s thigh when he was seated between Danielle & Adrianna on their couch causing Ade to question Chris’s love and commitment to her, Chris catches Paulie sniffing Ade’s underwear during a search of the apartment, etc, etc, etc. Whenever there was a scene in that apartment, it usually involved some level of doom and gloom.
"That's the guy Adriana, my uncle Tony. The guy I'm going to hell for." So powerful. I still remember when he was talking to paulie asking "whats my story arc?". Wrong choices at the right time that's his arc. When he chose the mob his story arc was sealed.
the conversation he had with JT Dolan was sad and eye opening for him. "Christopher, you are in the MAFIA!" Reality set in and he shots JT.

Yeah that arc speech he gives to Paulie is truly painful. Anyone battling with depression would say that's such a great way to describe the feeling. And the fact that he's surrounded by men who simply never will understand or even care. So tragic

Very well put together summary. I always thought Christopher’s lowest moment was at the Bing right after Ade was killed. He’s heartbroken, high, and Tony’s beating the shit out of him. Can’t imagine doing that to someone who loved you unconditionally and then having to live with that decision.

But once Chris drove high with Tony in the car and almost got in a head on collision, Tony seeing Chris’s newborn daughters car seat crushed in the back seat was the last straw. He was going to end up killing himself, or someone he loves. Or worst case scenario, gets arrested and flips because drug sentences are crazy

I think he killed him bc he saw Chris will never be what he groomed him for. Only thing that ticked me off is that mf helped him relapse.
@@clamcrewcarclub6017 I think Tony saw the car seat as an excuse to kill Chrissy, but it wasn't the real reason. "I'm going to do what's best for this little girl by murdering her father?" nah, that doesn't make sense. Tony was just sick of Chrissy screwing up, and this seemed like a convenient time to rid himself of the issue. The stuff about the car seat was just part of the story Tony told himself. Tony mentioned the car seat at the funeral too, but I think it shows us more how Tony justifies things to himself than his real reasons.
Its eerie how Christopher's story echoes his father's. Both had drug problems and in the end both died early in their child's life, leaving them on their own without a father. Call it whatever you want: circle of life, self-fulfilling prophecy, bad genetics. I always found that parallel the most insightful to Christopher's character, as he's not only trying to please Tony but also trying to live up to his father's legacy, only to leave behind another broken home and fatherless child, just like his dad.

Right when I saw this comment, I saw what you were referring to
It was almost a juxtaposition of the laughter as well which was extremely important- whilst with Tony they were all laughing ‘with’ him in the aim to gain some appreciation or recognition to their boss. And with Chrissy they were laughing at him because anybody who isn’t their ultimate superior will never have the upmost respect, and that they felt they could degrade / belittle him.

I got the motivation to be invested in the series sucked out of me when he died, it’s a big reason why I’m not a huge fan of the final season 6 episodes
My favorite character. The way he got killed was so shitty
I love Michael Imperioli and his portrayal of Christopher was excellent. That said Christopher was not a “complex character” at all! He was a junkie first and foremost which fucked up all the aspects of his life and what he was supposed to be doing. He was a typical guy from his generation.. self centered, entitled, & immature.

I just don’t see the complexity of his character, as far as I could see he was pretty transparent. To me it was more Tony’s character that was complex. Torn between what he might have been, what he was & what he became!
Christopher doesn’t choose to stay with Tony because he’s afraid to be killed for leaving. He stays because he sees that “poor” family at the gas station. He realizes once and for all what his future would look like with Adrianna if he has to actually work to make an honest living. He stays because it’s easier.
Yeah I also think he knew he could run away if he kept low. But he did not want that. In hindsight it was pretty obvious Tony wouldn't grow old so it wasn't even that long of a wait.
I agree. Chris caressing the roof of his Hummer, then seeing that poor family leave the gas station convenient store (the father slightly resembling Christopher) was one of the more powerful scenes in the series with zero words spoken.
Chris sees himself losing out on a lifestyle where he is highly respected, if not feared, driving luxury vehicles, dining at fine restaurants, etc, etc. We ultimately saw that Christopher loved “the life” more than he loved Adrianna when he sided with Tony.
Killing Christopher totally killed Tony's chance of winning the war. Christopher was loyal, had balls,and was good with the pistol
I was absolutely heartbroken when he chose Tony over Adriana and allowed her to be killed. It changed how I felt about him in a way (it actually changed how I felt about all of them in a way) but I couldn't help but still have a soft spot in my heart for Chris. Amazing acting by Michael Imperioli.

@@rossdawson5575 yeah I understand that but still 🤷♀️& I don't agree that he didn't have a choice, he literally almost chose to go to the cops with her and go into witness protection, that's another choice he could've made. The only thing that stopped him was seeing that poor couple & realizing he didn't want to live that way. And the irony is if he had made that choice, they might both still be alive. Chris relapsed b/c he was such a mess over Adrianna and that led to him getting into the accident with Tony and Tony killing him. I know Chris made an oath in general but I feel like so much of his loyalty was really to Tony even if they weren't as close anymore. He chose his loyalty to Tony over his love for Adrianna and look where it got him.
"Scarface Final Scene - Say hello to my little friend!" I loved the nod to Michael Imperioli's Goodfellas Character Spider, when Christopher shot the bakery clerk in the foot. "It happens!"

He was undoubtedly one of the best written and acted characters in the show.
I always found it fascinating that when Chris was killed by Tony I lost all empathy for Tony and found the character so much more unlikeable. It never made sense, Tony had either murdered,plotted to kill, or ruined people lives, many of them innocent or had been corrupted by Tony, but Chris was just as sociopathic as Tony
So why did that murder make the difference
It really shows that time and experiences spent together meant nothing to Tony Soprano if he views you as a threat
For me it was when he felt absolutely no guilt about it. The scene when says he is glad he did it made me feel sick and convinced me that he was a character without any redemption.
For me tony became unredeemable when he beat dude with the belt
He looked at Christopher’s kids car seat in the car crash and realised Christopher’s drug taking would’ve killed her had she been in the car. And as they were just about to go to war with New York he couldn’t trust a junkie
Because he knew that if Chris got up n walked away, he’d just keep using and putting himself and his family in danger. We all saw the tree piercing the car seat, we all know the logical closure point to THAT story if Tony wasn’t there and instead Chris’s daughter. Edit: not defending Tony, still a scum move, but to a certain point I can understand why this one was done.
He really played a junkie very well. His face flushed, eyes darting about but body movement slowed, stopping and starting sentences etc...amazing acting by Imperioli, he killed it.

Christopher and Adrianna weren't "madly in love". They were co-dependent. So many people get this wrong.

Chris' drug addiction was tied to the fact that he was living a life he really didn't want to live. He wanted to go to Hollywood and become a screenwriter, but Tony pressured him into remaining a Wise Guy. Chris did his share of awful stuff, but is still a tragic character in some ways.
Edit: I really wonder if some of the people responding to this comment paid much attention to the show. Chris considered leaving for Hollywood on multiple occasions. And each time, Tony pressured him into staying. That clearly had an effect on him and contributed to his habitual drug use. And the fact that Hollywood also has a lot of drug users is *completely* besides the point.

@@coreypharveyable EXACTLY! He goes to Hollywood and just look at all the death and destruction that he left in his wake. He was first and foremost a self-absorbed, hardened criminal/murderer lacking empathy. I never saw any sign that he "could have been a normal person"... "if only"... nah.
There is no evidence of that anywhere shown in the series. But, he was human, certainly, but a very poor example of one, at his core.
Christopher is the perfect example of someone being shaped by their environment. He had no real father figure, one that would teach him right from wrong. Even if Dickie lived and it was him who raised him and not Tony it wouldn’t have made much of a difference. It goes back to one of Tony’s quotes in therapy, “you’re born into it. You are what you are.”. And yet despite all this he nearly was able to get himself clean and escape it all, showing the split inside of him, the want to be something in the mafia, and the want to live a happy life with Adriana

Christopher and Adrianna weren't opposites, they were male and female versions of a similar character: Both wanted the glamor and status of mob life with zero appreciation (at least initially) of the risks and downsides.

the parallel slo-mo shots of tony and christopher recognizing their friends for who they really are was such a good catch and brilliant writting from the show, really enjoyed this episode

When Chris is diving teary eyes I felt heart broken. He was like a lost little boy.

Bobby was much more human, emotional and just an overall better person than anyone else in the show / soprano crew. He doesnt randomly kill one of his friends, he loves his wife (both of them), he is a devoted father and had his father been a regular guy i think Bobby would have succeeded in business.
He also kicked Tony’s ass and lived. That’s gotta be respected

Nailed it! There are so many times I am team Christopher, only to remember what terrible decisions and actions he has made. He absolutely is a victim of circumstance to an extent, but he had options to leave yet did not. Definitely a precautionary, tragic character.
Yes, there was tragedy in Christopher, but he was an awful human being. He beat up Adrianna, murdered innocent people, and felt nothing for anyone but himself. Bobby was far more human than Christopher

I think one aspect of the Tony/Chris relationship that doesn't get enough attention is when they have a conversation at a cookout that Chris was hosting. Tony was talking to Chris, demanding why he wasn't around anymore. Chris counters by saying it is difficult to be around the guys/lifestyle with his addictions. Chris then compares his father, Dickie Moltisanti, to a common, run-of-the-mill junkie. I think that moment helped seal his fate for a few reasons.
One: He insulted one of Tony's greatest heroes/secondary father figure. Tony LOVED that man, so degrading his reputation and memory of him would be close to sacrilege in his eyes.
Two: Chris made it seem like he thought poorly of his father and that he had outgrown the memory of the man, which might have frightened Tony into thinking his hold on Christopher was waning. Earlier in the series, Tony ties Chris to himself in, what feels like, an unbreakable bond. Where Tony had Chris murder the man that "killed" Chris' father. If Chris no longer feels much attachment to his father, and thinks him loathsome, why would he put any stock into the murdering of that man and think of it as an everlasting bond?
Three: Tony has thought of himself as Chris' father at times. Likewise, Chris has seen Tony as a mentor, friend, brother, and father at times as well. If Chris is spouting the notion of how little he thinks of his actual father, maybe tony sees it as Chris saying he feels that Tony is also someone he doesn't care about. Especially if this harkens back to things Chris has said in wroth before this moment.
I honestly feel like that moment was vital in Tony's change in heart against Christopher, which actively lead to his death at the end.

If you notice, this is also where tony starts disregarding Chris’s sobriety, telling him to have a drink knowing it’s going to cause a relapse, criticizing him for his use, then Christopher gets sober again and then there tony is making fun of him for being sober, saying he’s weak cuz he won’t even drink
Yeah people think that it was the actual act of sobriety but it seemed more like it was mocking the act of being weak, or at least perceived as that. The erosion of respect had already begun right there.

Christopher‘s story is really the most tragic one in the whole series. His every single downfall is kind of experienced by the audience - with devastation, hope, disappointment etc. Thanks a lot for the great video!

Christopher remains my favourite character in the entire series. I've always assumed the scene at the gas station where he sees the family was him realizing that he can never start a family with Ade (because she is unable to have kids). He sees it as a chance to start over and find someone who he can have a family with.

What was tragic about Chris was that he was never really cut out for the life. He didn't choose the life, the life chose him. He was groomed for it. And it drove home to drink and drugs, and it drove him to abuse the person who truly loved him, and it ultimately drove him to set her up for death.
Another Reason why Tony beats Christopher after killing Adriana was because he was saying “I thought she loved me.” Tony knew how much she cared for him, yet all Chris did was make it about himself.

The way Michael Imperioli played that scene at the gas station was powerful and subtle at the same time. He had so many great moments like this. I hated the many cruel things Christopher did over the course of the show but I still missed seeing him be there until the end.
He was actually useful and reliable in a way, when he was sober.

Chrissy was one of my favorites on the show. Since he was the future of the family, they should've built him up for greatness instead of busting his balls.
I think Chris' fall represents the fall of the Italian Mafia. Destroyed by drugs and disillusioned with the rules that made the institution work.

Christopher had delusions of grandeur and couldn't back them up with any smart moves. He struggled to get respect from his peers and couldn't capitalise on the leg ups he got from Tony. He was promoted to his level of incompetence and found drugs the only way to deal with his failure.

Christopher was one of the most under performing gambles Tony ever made...he's just so stupid. And, by the way, he didn't love Adriana...he beat the shit out of her whenever he felt like it. The whole 'love of his life' bullshit needs to stop. He treated her like crap, he didn't love her.

i felt quite sad revisiting his arc, especially Adrianna, and the toxicity of his and Tony's relationship. good summary.

I think Tony either was in some way involved in the death of Christophers father, or
possibly even responsible for it and/or felt guilty about it
This could explain very well why Tony tried to be a father figure to him, why he was so frustrated when Chris didn't live up to his expectations - he couldn't stand the fact that he couldn't make all right by uplifting Chris.
This explains too why Tony later on even began to dislike Chris.
Since Chris was a constant reminder of the guilt, the decision that he was a lost cause and had to be killed was a burden being removed from Tonys fragile Ego.

I like this hypothesis and it makes a lot of sense. It would add more depth, complexity and layers to the shows mythos.
If there was one person I wish would’ve gotten a happy ending in this show, it would be Christopher.
He was a criminal, murdering, junkie, dog killing woman beater....he couldn't have had many complaints about how he went out!

Without the drugs he's arc would be totally different and probably less tragic. He was very ambitious in the early seasons. Challenges lead to drug use, which lead to more challenges, which lead to more drugs, which lead to Tony losing trust and respect for him, which lead to more problems, and ultimately his fall. His story is a common and sad one. A story of wasted potential.
He was a drug addict in season 1 with Brendan.

I love the character of Christafer too. Micheal played that part so well that we all loved Chrissy sometime and sometimes we couldn't stand him.. But we kept watching to see what was going to happen to Chrissy. This makes him a very important character, right beside Tony Soprano. Christopher is my favorite in the Sopranos.
This channel ROCKS! I love when you get deep inside The Sopranos. You have me binge watching seasons over and over again, catching more nuances all the time. It’s like watching a new show, seeing it in different, more in-depth ways.

It honestly pisses me off so much how poorly Christopher was treated by the other guys when he was recovering. Had he not been teased so much he would have never slipped back into using drugs & alcohol. I have very seldom felt the amount of sympathy I felt towards Christopher, he's the most human person in the show
I never for one moment empathized with Christopher, never liked him a tiny bit, but he was a brilliant and a complex character. And absolutely crucial to Tony
Christopher was probably my favorite character he was the most multilayered besides tony there were times I actually felt bad for him i wanted him and adriana to get away and start over but I think chris chose the life over her not necessarily tony I think like he said "the regularness of life " he illuded to in the first season was too hard for him so he chose to stick with the quick money and psuedo fame even though he knew eventually it would cost him his life
Finished The Sopranos for the first time yesterday. How lucky am I to have found a channel making fresh content on now one of my favorite television shows!
I like the theory that the ginger cat was Adriana's reincarnation, who loved Christopher more than anything in life, she still loved him in death and even after death, this is why the cat was so obsessed with the photo of Cristopher. Theirs is the most tragic life story ever get on screen.

I think Christopher was Tony's second cousin, but he was a first cousin to Carmela.
Carmella was first cousins with his father Dickie, but Chris's mother and Tony's mother share common ancestors in the old country so the share the same bloodline
My recollection is that Chris and Tony were not blood related at all.

Always found it interesting how angry tony gets at Christopher when he mentions his “disease” within him regarding his addiction because tony mentioned it often in therapy how he and his relatives have that “rotten, putrid, soprano blood” or whatever. It was almost like he could see himself in therapy blaming his circumstances on his genetics within Christopher and he couldn’t stand it.
I liked Chris most because he actually tried to change his life for the better but yet all of the crew put him down even for getting sober. It’s messed up
Chris really had most of a good conscience out of all the sociopath’s and really felt sorry for the things he did and being an addict. As far as I’m concerned, he really wasn’t a bad person without morals -unlike the rest of the crew. He just had been messed with and pressured horribly by the rest of the ruthless pack... I loved his character most, man...
I didn't realize Chris' life was that sad until watching this. I've seen the entirety of The Sopranos, and I always knew, but man this vid really hits home on Chris' sad life.
Great video. I wouldn't call these "theories" as such but you provide interesting insights into characters and their characteristics. Christopher was tragic but Adriana was, I think, the most tragic, as she seemed to be so innocent and genuine in her love.
Michael is an amazing actor, he needs a series where he can be in a staring role. He's more than capable of pulling his weight.

He tried to use the technique of positive visualization. He ended up feeling undermined. He shouldn't of been made.
Uh, Adrianna and Christopher were NOT opposites; they were, in fact, made for each other. Adrianna had no more desire to leave the mob life than Carmella, up until the point that she was ensnared by the FBI. She was attracted to the glamour of the mob life like a moth to a flame.
For the life of me, I dont know why all these Sopranos channels want to white knight for Ade. She knew what that life was all about and chose to be in it. She smiled from ear to ear when Christopher brought her stolen luxury goods, drugs, and partied at the best clubs.
I do think they were twin flames as they were raised around the "lifestyle" and gradually became disillusioned as the reality of what the mob was sunk in. However, Ariana did always encourage his creative interests and in the end just wanted to be with Chris no matter if he was made guy or not.
@@mieshonwalker8635 Yeah, in the end. After the FBI had her on drug trafficking and a murder charge. Only after she saw how hollow that life really was. She had her good points but she made some horrible choices caused by her naiveté and ended up paying for it with her life. Just like Chris. Had she just chosen to be a "mob wife" like Carm or Ro, she'd likely still be alive.

You said a big reason why Chrissy lives throughout most of the series id because of Tony but in reality Chris was very tough to kill because of his natural canopy nose. They knew that if he tried killing him he would likely survive due to all the oxygen his big nose can deliver.
Tony finally kills him when he has an opportunity to attack Chris in his one true weak spot that has kept him alive , his nose.
I loved the scene where Paulie explained to Christopher that he went to purgatory. Funny AF.

Christopher is one of the best written characters of all time and if you don't like him I would be shocked. Dynamic, and human in a tv show of sociopaths and villains. We knew he would die, but in the end when we saw him die we all were shocked. I can talk about him for hours.
I found the character extremely annoying. I lost what little sympathy I had for him early on when he threatens meadow because he is afraid that she told Tony that he gave her drugs. Also, he gave her drugs.
I think the thing with Adriana and the FBI created a huge, irreparable rift between Chris and Tony. Tony even blames Chris for the Adriana “problem”, when he complains to Dr. Melli about the situation, and he openly resents Christopher after the thing with Adriana, too.
After choosing Tony over Adriana, Christopher realizes Tony will never appreciate him or love him unconditionally the way Adriana did. He knows he made the wrong decision. So he delves back into drugs to try to numb the pain.
The relationship between Tony and Chris was deeply, irreparably damaged after Ade, and the relationship only becomes more strained over time. Tony and Chris both loved Adriana, in their own ways.
Still makes me so sad that Chris betrayed Adriana the way he did. She was so naive and innocent, she deserved better. Ugh.
Also when Tony found out that Christopher killed little Cozette.
i always felt he could never leave the mob life, reminds me of when vito came back even though he knew he was a dead man walking, chris only knew the mob life, and i felt the few times he wanted to leave he didnt or couldnt bring himself to do so because it was his entire glamourized life goal to be made, season one he did all he could to do so, but even right after he got made and had to deal with paulies collection bullshit etc, he saw that it was something he might not have wanted as he thought all his life, BUT he didnt want to also leave it because that was all his life was being built up to, and how he saw tony as his idol and a father figure, those things made him just stick it out with tony til his death because it would be shattering his entire life, if he wasnt that way as soon as adriana told him about the feds he shoulda got his keys taken both to the fbi agency and ratted his ass out, not like hallf of the mob wasnt without a satellite up their ass anyways broadcasting to the fbi, but he sadly chose to stick to the mob hell til the very end, comendable that he stayed loyal to a degree but sad because even the only person who gave a shit about him and loved him even after all the shit he did to her, he decided tony was the right choice

Tony saw the baby seat impaled and realised that he could easily wind up killing his child with his driving while on drugs, but also it was symbolic that the child seat (representing family/Tony) would be destroyed through Chris' drug use.

Sopranos is my all time favourite show. It was amazing watching it the first time and seeing Christopher’s story. A lot of it was close to mine. I’m not a mobster but I am an addict fortunate enough to be sober for 3 years now. I ended up with nothing and nobody and now I have everything back and more. I attend AA/NA meetings and do what’s required. I have my family back, an amazing fiancé and doing what I love in life which is acting. I’ve trained for couple years now and hopefully one day if God willing I’ll end up somewhere with it. If not that’s okay but Atleast I have the desire and courage to do and try what I want to in life. It’s a blessing. I’m not in that prison of addiction anymore. It’s sad because Christopher would have had everything. He was Tony’s protege his successor he would’ve been the boss of the family eventually and he just threw it all away. Tony even gave him a chance by sending him to rehab which the mob never does but even then. His dad was a junkie his mother an alcoholic and he ends up the same way.. it’s sad how drugs truly destroy your life man. I’m so blessed to have what I have now I’ll never go back to that life. Watching the sopranos and watching Chris use heroin it all brings back the memories but thankfully I have no cravings. It also makes me wanna do better and keep doing well for my wife and my family but mainly for myself. Thank you for reading this. One someone finally hits rock bottom. There’s no way but up. All the warriors struggling out there keep going💪🏼🙏🏼.

Ive been struggling with addiction for 30 years. I have good weeks, and bad weeks. I'm fairly functional but getting to the point where i don't know where I'm going to end up. Grandpa and dad both died with dementia... not sure which is worse, being high all the time or being deluded.
