I love Lo's (sp?) appreciation of TEN. I agree that he does not get enough lines in SuperM. It's hard with two other super vocalists in the group. They are definitely a super packed talented group.

Hello Gentlemen,
I’ve been watching quietly your journey from the very first NCT reaction and I’m happy to see the growth of your understanding regarding SM label and their artists.
For those who are not already aware (don’t worry I’m not here to murder anyone) and just to vouch another commenter who already explained about the request made by Capitol Records: SuperM was NOT created to compete against such and such boy band. The same goes with all SM artists. Often such information is made by individuals who are overly obsessed with one particular group to the point of spreading a lot of hate and gossip towards other groups that are growing in success.
SuperM “is” actually in partnership with Marvel Cinematic Universe (MCU) which is why your saw the marvel-like, grandeur-type, superheroes soundtrack vibe. When the time comes for you to watch ONE you will see this Marvel connection and you will also see the reference to æspa in the end, of which the whole SM Cinematic Universe (SMCU) was started…where all groups are connected to each other. That, is the activity of SuperM. That, is the lore of æspa if/when you’re interested in watching “episode 1: Black Mamba” which is a few minutes cinematic, high budgeted mini movie explaining their story line. NCT has the most unique group structure ever existed in the industry and their mission (other than making their own signature experimental and versatile sound of music) is “to spread kpop starting from Seoul, the birth of kpop, to the world”. That is why their greeting starts with “To the world”.
Each group has their own unique theme, group structure, mission vision and purpose. NCT is in their own league. æspa is in their own league. SuperM is in their own league. SHINee is in their own league. EXO is in their own league. As you pointed out: they’re in their own world so there is no reason for them to compete with any group. Take NCT as an example: watch any footages, interviews, articles, members’ video diaries etc. and watch them always talk about “comparing present achievements to their own previous achievements” and never about collecting as many trophies as possible, as many fans, as many votes, as many news coverages such as broadcasting donations for such and such causes to gain popularity (all group and private members’ donations are done in private which earns my highest respect). If they want to compete, NCT mission would not have been “to spread and promote kpop music” to the world. They held their ground for 5 years and dismiss the haters because they want to make the music they want, and now almost every kpop group put out videos doing dance cover to every new release starting with KICK IT until now, STICKER. Watch many youtube reactors who are professional musicians, engineers, producers, etc. call their music “ahead of its time” and music that doesn’t come in a prepackaged, tik tok standard, just add water, verse-chorus-verse-chorus, easy listening sound. This is why many NCT songs are not easily digestible even by fans and always require multiple listens to allow the song to “grow on you”. æspa now seems to follow the same format.
So yes you are correct, they are the trendsetter and they are the benchmark. In the final analysis, Kanye might achieved the “billion dollar worth, richest rapper” or the first in this or that, it does not mean he is better than Fifty Cent or Snoop Dog. Just the same, whatever group said to reach the highest views or the most this/that does not make their song the best because at the end of the day music is subjective and subjectively, SuperM is just too busy making awesome music to be nosing around other groups.

They were the first collab K-pop group to make a US-based debut within the States in Los Angeles and had an opening concert in downtown LA or Hollywood at the Gardens (I think that's what its called I don't remember the full name).

SuperM is the best of the best in SM Ent. Every group in SM has a storyline and each group overlaps in that story to create a bigger universe. SuperM will be the center of that universe. Avengers that save the universe inside the Matrix. Hope that makes sense. Check out 100 and Monster and Infinity to see the story unfold.

SuperM to me is most definitely a flex. SM has so much talent they can work with its ridiculous. But with the way SM does things, it’s honestly more of another cash grab tbh. That’s all SM’s CEO cares about which is so sad bc this group could be so much more than another sub unit but we’ll never know I guess lol
This was literally Capitol Records contacting SM to cash in on the Kpop/BTS success, and people will _always_ hate this story which was told for the creation of SuperM.
So far only a single Kpop group had a stadium tour. It wasn't SuperM or NCT. I still remember, videos should still be on YT, NCT 127 performing in an Apple store in Williamsburg Brooklyn, USA. Surprised me, but must have paid well.

When Capitol Records contacted SM and proposed the join venture (aka the creation and management of a kpop supergroup) in EARLY 2017, beeteessee wasn't a thing in America. Also what stadium tours have to do with the conversation? SuperM would perform in the Tokyo Dome (a japanese stadium) last year but covid happened. We stan SuperM because of their good music and talents. We don't care about comparisons with other groups. We are proud of our talented group.

SuperM was created by SM Entertainment in collaboration with Capitol Records in the U.S. This group features 7 of the best of the best when it comes to dance, vocals, rap and performance in Kpop. The members of SuperM are some of the absolute best from SM Entertainment's most popular groups. Baekhyun who is one of the best vocalist in the industry and Kai who is one of the top 2 dancers in the industry are from EXO; Taemin is the other top dancer in the industry with one of the most well respected solo careers and he is a member of the legendary group SHINee; Taeyong is the leader of NCT and he is known for his dancing and rapping and Mark is the main rapper from NCT-127/NCT-U; and Ten is the main dancer and lead vocalist and Lucas is a rapper and visual of NCT-U/WayV.
SuperM debuted in the U.S. in October 2019, so that is why all of their main track songs and MVs are mostly in English because "Jopping" was meant to by their foyer in to the U.S. music market and "100" and "One (Monster & Infinity)" are meant to continue that plan and continue the storyline.
SuperM are considered the Avengers of Kpop because the group is so multi-talented, with some of the most influential idols in the industry, representing multiple nationalities and Kpop generations, who are poised to take over the world.
Mark is Korean-Canadian, so his native language is English. And WayV is the Chinese sub-unit of NCT, so not only does Ten and Lucas speak Korean and English, but they also speak Mandarin. Ten also speaks Thai because he is from Thailand and Lucas speaks Cantonese because he is from Hong Kong and a little Thai because his mom is Thai. And although, Baekhyun, Kai, Taemin and Taeyong are all native Korean, they also speak many other languages. For example, Taemin and SHINee are very popular in Japan, so he is fluent in Japanese as well.
Baekhyun has been chosen as the leader of SuperM. (Baekhyun is also the oldest member at 29 and Mark is the youngest at 22) However, Taemin is the one with the most seniority in the group. Taemin is only 28 years old, but he debuted 4-10 years before any of the other members of SuperM. Taemin debuted as a member of SHINee in 2008 when he was 14 years old, so he is a super senior member of the group. In other words, as part of the hierarchy of respect, Taemin is the one everyone looks up to. Which, might be why Taemin was chosen to play such a major role within the group's storyline, and why we have seen him prominently featured in almost everything to do with SuperM.
It is said that the concept for SuperM is supposed to be like the Avengers, so, I see it as each of the members are a different kind of superhero that make up the larger "Avengers" group, just like how the Marvel Avenger members come together from all walks of life with all different abilities and powers, etc. to make up one big supergroup.
I think the concept of the group all stems from EXO's concept and storyline. The members of EXO are all aliens from Planet Exo, and each of the members has a superpower that is specific to them. From day one, EXO's story has been that they were sent to Earth on a mission to find and protect the Tree of Life from the Red Force, while also trying to fix all the things that are going wrong in the world, which are thought to be caused by the Red Force. As a member of EXO, Baekhyun has the power to control light and Kai has the power of teleportation, so those powers are nothing new for them. However, the concept of superpowers is new for all the other SuperM member (You will see the other member's special powers and abilities if you check out all of their teaser videos which were originally released leading up to the release of "Jopping.") So I think because Kai and Baekhyun are part of the group, SuperM's storyline is tied to EXOs storyline. I think SuperM are supposed to be coming together to fight the Red Force and to prevent or stop them from corrupting and taking over the world, etc.
And just like the Marvel Avengers members each have their own Superhero story, when they come together to form The Avengers they combine their story and concept and weave elements of each of the member's backstories into The Avengers storyline. I see SM Entertaiment doing the same thing with SuperM.
Also, just like how the Marvel Avengers come together to combine their strengths and powers to help fight Thanos, I see parallels with what SM is doing with SuperM's storyline. SuperM is taking the "best" members from each group and joining forces to take down the Red Force. And just like how the movies "Avengers Identity War" and "Avengers Endgame" eventually had each of the Marvel Avengers members recruiting their whole crew to help in the fight, I think SM is setting it up so that all of its groups' members will eventually be brought into the fight.
Some fans who are into SM group theories have also speculated that NCT's dream concept and storyline also connects to EXO's storyline, just like how many believe that Red Velvet is connected to EXO's storyline -- it is believed that SM's girl group Red Velvet, EXO's sister group, may be the Red Force. I think that SM may even have set it up so that at least all of their third generation groups -- and now even fourth gen. groups, with the introduction of SM's new girl group aespa -- have storylines that connect, link together and intertwine.
And although NCT and SHINee don't have a backstory that has anything to do with being Superheroes in the same way as EXO does, I find it interesting that NCT and WayV have songs called "Superhuman" and "Take Off" which both have sort of superhero type themes in their MVs, and one of Ten's solo songs was called "New Heroes". With what I know about SM, it wouldn't surprise me if this is something they have had in the works for a really long time and they probably have been creating ways to foreshadow things to come in SuperM that create connections between the members and their original groups. One thing SM has mastered since the creation of EXO, is how to tell a story and how to create a mystery that connects even the most minute of details together to build an epic adventure for fans.
SuperM's storyline is already connected to EXO's storyline, and I think SM may be working on expanding the story to its other groups, in the same way that "The Avengers" connects all the individual superheroes' stories when they come together to form The Avengers.
If the SuperM Avengers are coming together to help EXO stop the Red Force, I think the members who are part of SuperM are the liaisons who are helping to connect all the groups -- EXO, Taemin/SHINee, NCT and WayV -- together. For example, right after SuperM released "Jopping," WayV came out with their MV for "Moonwalk" and I think the story in their "Moonwalk" MV is a continuation of "Jopping's" storyline, and now I think WayV's "Turn Back Time" MV is also part of that story.
To help explain, I think EXO, as members of SuperM, are working with the other "Avengers" members to try and stop X-EXO. (X-EXO are EXO's alter ego clones) If you pay attention to what Kai and Baekhyun are wearing in "Jopping," their outfits are very similar to the all black outfits they are wearing in EXO's "Obsession " MV -- Kai even wears the same parachute backpack in both MVs -- which seems to indicate then that the version of Kai and Baekhyun in SuperM are the EXO members who are the good guys. Because in "Obsession" the members in all black are supposed to be EXO and the members in the colorful outfits with the crazy hair and makeup are the X-EXO members who have been created by the Red Force.
So on that note, I think people need to pay attention to all of the storylines with all of SM's groups, because I think at least all of SM's third and fourth generation groups' MVs and storylines are being designed to connect stories and plots. Each group has their own individual storyline and concept, but when you put them all together, there are threads of connection between the groups. And that includes EXO, Red Velvet, NCT/WayV, aespa and maybe even Taemin's solo work, and possibly even SHINee. Even though SHINee are second gen, they actually fit within the age group of third generation groups, so they sort of bridge that gap between 2nd and 3rd gen.
And now I see connections being made with SHINee's most recent "Don't Call Me" and "Atlantis" MVs, as well as aespa's "Next Level" MV and NCT-127's new "Save" MV, and even SM's older groups, such as Super Junior's "House Party" MV., etc. It is becoming clear that SM is designing the SM Universe to include all of its groups and it is tying all of their storylines together.
I miss SuperM so much! I can't wait for them to finish their military service and release new music. Jopping was one of the most talked kpop song of 2019 for a valid reason. The Mark's rap is the main thing in the song. I loved the Andre 300 and Big Boi reference in his rap. Very well executed. I suggest yall to react to SuperM's latest title track, One. One is such a Marvel OST material.

SuperM is the most vindictive concoction LS has ever produced. I truly feel it was payback for all the fan complaints, so he put all of our favorites in one group. Just to mess with us. Jopping is a commercial track for Marvel Studios collaboration. Listen to... SuperM - Drip. I am sure you know already and you'll of course inform your friends, so this is my view - This is their title track of their self-titled debut extended play 1st mini album and according to the lyrics, the title’s a combination of the words jumping + popping = jopping and the “M” stands for Matrix/Master. What I could see in the MV, Baekhyun & Kai are the only ones it seems who display their superpowers of teleportation & light. The song was produced by an english duo of a British Production called LDN Noise who’s also worked on many different tracks for groups; such as: SHINee, EXO, NCT and WayV. Somehow, however it was leaked on Oct 1st 2019 through Weibo, which spread to RUclips & Twitter where requests for take down were immediately issued. The music video displays Taemin on a motorcycle, Mark & Taeyong in cars, Ten & Lucas with a tank, Kai and Baekhyun with a helicopter. They are the Kpop Avengers (Superheroes of Kpop);. The one thing I really isn’t a big fan of is how our guys have to be forced to compensate for most of the western audience to do their best in singing & rapping in english knowing some of them aren’t fluent which is probably why they highlight/autotune abit more of some of the members voices but they all killed it in my book (You still need to read subs because it’s not 100% in english). *I am OT7 but my biases are Taemin, Baekhyun, Kai, Taeyong and Ten.* The only two things I need in this world is God and Kpop #SuperM #SHINee #EXO #NCT #WayV *SIDE NOTE:* SuperM is technically made up of three groups and one subunit - SHINee, EXO and NCT along with their chinese subunit WayV.

I love so many of the members of SuperM (Taemin, Baekhyun, Mark, Lucas, Ten) but for some reason their songs don't really hit for me. Still an undeniably talented group. Taemin is the king and can do no wrong lol
when you guys get the time, it would be cool to see you react to SHINee (a 5 member group Taemin is in, before SuperM and before he debuted as a solo artist). Their debut song Replay is an iconic throwback featuring 14-year old Taemin. Their most recent comebacks Don't Call Me and Atlantis only include 4 members but they're also amazing.

I believe that SuperM/Avengers was created specifically for the western market, that's why a lot of their songs are in English. This was their debut and toured the US. SM knows how to do it.

Oh hell no...I'm sick and tired of that other group being brought up and being compared. Do some proper research. This concept was brought to SM exclusively. Just like NCT's concept was in the making for years to branch out internationally but same fans from that other group says they're trying to compete...And I could go really shady with some facts but I'll stop here. It feels like there’s no real structure to this song. They’re all super talented, although I preferred the singing over the rapping, but it feels like a competition and not a group performance. The dance moves were insane tho Bc of how in sync they were. I just wish the actual track would’ve been as harmonious.
