Les dije: "Al toque corto, los pases largos son imprecisos y buscando el pase en profundidad, rompiendo la defensa contraria". Me respondió Luis: "Al contraataque", le respondí: "No, porque los jugadores se cansan, tienen que recorrer muchos metros, el balón debe ser recuperado en el centro del campo, tenéis que jugar como el Milán de las 5 copas de Europa, concentra jugadores en el centro del campo, ahí es donde tienen que ser recuperados los balones". Por qué lo digo ahora? Porque estoy cansado que digan que España ganó gracias a las tácticas de Pep y del Barcelona. La España de Luis Aragonés estaba más cerca del Milán que del Barcelona y, además, por homenaje a Luis Aragonés, el mejor entrenador que ha parido España y el mundo, ahí empezó todo.

This team was great to watch. Like the 2024 version. Incisive passing with some tricky and pacy players. 2010/2012 was just painful to watch with all the sideways passing.

2010-2012 Spain was even stronger, they barely conceded goals in those tournaments unlike this Spain and the most recent one in 2024. Right now, the only team that plays the tiki-taka way to the max is Germany, because Portugal is not dominant, they just play football on their own and do not take risks. Germany is still not at 100% with their players, but the future looks incredible if they stack all their talents and play possession football mixed with the German DNA.

we can argue 2010-2012 Spain werent as effective upfront as 2008 though. but also tbf by 2012 Torres and Villa were past their prime (Villa didnt even play Euro 2012 due to injury)
