    Colin put on his reporter hat for this one. What a good interview -- really cool to see Brees open up like that

  • @ryanjones875
    @ryanjones875 Месяц назад +93

    He makes it seem like Brock Purdy is especially short. Purdy is taller than Brees, and he's taller than Kyler Murray, Bryce Young, Russell Wilson, Tua Tagavailoa, Baker Mayfield, and he's within Half a centimeter of Caleb Williams, and a centimeter from Jalen Hurts.

    • @brandall101
      @brandall101 Месяц назад +19

      He's also not 'small' in the sense he's bigger than you'd expect for someone of that height @ 220 lbs. His physical attribute that is the biggest knock is his arm length at 29". Even a slightly shorter Brees has 2" on Purdy here. A guy like Herbert has a release point a good foot higher. So he needed to work on his mechanics to get the ball to 'pop' up a bit and to optimize his body motion to make up for the leverage issue. And he very much did that... he's got decent velocity, rarely gets balls tipped, and has great accuracy down field.

    people continue to clown colin cowherd, yet people continue to watch him and he is at the very tippy top of his profession, the only guy that hosts his own sports talk show on a major network without a real cohost or panel of people around him. guys like nick wright and emmanuel acho are scratching and clawing to take his seat. colin isnt always right, but he has to talk for 3 hours a day live, every day for years on end. thats so incredibly difficult and the reason he is where he is, is because of how rare it is to be able to do that without tripping over your words a bunch or not sounding confident, or not being able to flow smoothly from one topic to the next, and most of all having people continue to be interested enough to tune in and draw ratings. he may not always be right or always have the best takes in the business, but consider all the sports he has to cover he cant be dialed in to the minute details on every single player and every single team. but he continues to be the best at what he does and there's a reason he is where he is. TV networks arent forgiving if you suck or you arent drawing viewers you will be fired. the guy interviews sports legends every other day and manages to make the conversations interesting even if those legends arent great on TV, his stuff last year with sean payton was absolute gold btw.
