    What if...
    The age limit on the Spring of Wisdom was because it was intended to be the first spring a Spirit Maiden would visit? As in, Zelda never should’ve been forced to begin her training until after her 17th birthday. A child doesn’t have much to reflect on for “courage” or “power” same as “wisdom”. Her training actually stunted her from having any true life experiences since...she was so young and literally wasn’t allowed to have a life outside of it.
    (And literally every time a King’s involved he only hinders the current Zelda with his “King Knows Best” bullshit. I’m not even joking. It’s not subtle or surprising this would follow the same pattern, especially with the Silent Princess metaphor.)

In this demo Link fights a 3D Gohma boss fight, this may be where Gohma was supposed to be implemented before it was scrapped. This may be false due to the MASSIVE time difference; however, it’s been proven this was the precursor to BOTW.

    imo, I think you've got part of it wrong. If it was dubbed spiders nest road, and built during the same time as the forgotten temple, I think it makes more sense that the developers originally were going to have the forgotten temple in that area, but because it's a fairly early game area, it didn't make sense to have it infested with guardians. My first thought when hearing the description of the forgotten temple was "how could it have been forgotten? it's so central" so it would make sense that they initially wanted it to be farther away and behind mountains.

    For those of you who don't know, the first game in the zelda timeline, Skyward Sword, which is the game where hyrule is created, was where the Forgotten Temple was originally created. But, the real name for the temple was the Temple of Hylia, or the Sealed Temple.
    This temple is so old, that it has been buried by rocks and boulders. But why is the tree on the eall there? Let me tell you why.
    In Skyward Sword, when you are in the Lanayru Desert province, the Thunder Dragon is dead. To reverse this, you had to go back in time to where he was sick. He tells you that his tree of life isn't growing any fruit that gives you life. To do this, you have to take its seed and take it back to the Sealed Temple in the past. When you go back to the present, Groose would be standing there, shocked to see what had appeared in front of him. It was the tree of life. You bring the fruit back to the thunder dragon, and he would be healed. You probably already figured it out by now but the tree in the wall in the Forgotten Temple, is indeed the Tree of Life, after millennials of growing.

    Nice idea! One point I'm not totally sold on though is just this: I'm not so sure about Spider's Nest being swarmed by guardians. If that was the case, like in the forgotten Temple, then wouldn't there be at least a couple guardian stalker remains around? A way around this might be if Spider's Nest/Lanayru Promenade, as opposed to the fortress-like Forgotten Temple, was a challenge to defend and was easily overwhelmed by guardians as a sort of waypoint in pursuit of some other target(s).

    In botw, it is mentioned at some point the promenade is part of the pilgrimage to the mountain, the impression being at one point in time everyone of a certain age was meant to walk that path as a right of passage to adulthood. The mountain even has a full path and stairs carved into it. I would've loved if the area was covered in spider webs and swarming with huge skulltulas tho.

    Wait I just thought of something. The Spring of Wisdom is located on top of a snow covered mountain in BOTW but in Skyward Sword it is in the middle of a forest. Shouldn't the Spring of Courage match up with that location in Skyward Sword more?

    • @DBZTyphlosion
      @DBZTyphlosion 5 лет назад +1

      Sound question, but you have to take into consideration the fact that Skyward Sword is the first game in the Zelda timeline, and while we don't know BOTW's exact timeline placement, we can assume that it's at least 10,100 years after. Perhaps over time, the forest turned into a cold mountain over thousands of years
      THAT and the fact that Hyrule's map is EXTREMELY inconsistent from game to game lol

    • @amandaslough125
      @amandaslough125 5 лет назад

      The Spring of Courage is in the jungle in Faron, and matches up nicely with the Skyview Temple's spring. So really, we're missing a third spring because Zelda went to the Temple of Time in the Lanayru region after the 3rd dungeon, which is on the opposite side of the map, if being luscious and green in the ancient past, compared to Zora's Domain in most other games.

    I think this was my ONLY complaint about Breath of the Wild. It would've been great for a lot of these abandoned places, including Mekar Island, to have had more depth and story to them, and upon finding certain or even a few spots, you'd have some neat flashbacks or spirits appearing to give you some info for the place. None of that ever happened in any of them, and being attacked by a mob of enemies or a Lynel just wasn't cutting it.
    I hope Breath of the Wild 2 explores more of these places, and gives us dungeons this time, because I always found how the dungeons gave us more story to the lands and location. And PLEASE add some more variety of enemies, because I would've LOVED to have seen Skulltulas (one of my favorites), yes, and dragons!

    Ever heard of a funnel spider, or ever seen an odd shaped spider's web in the shape of a funnel/cone? If so, then you know why the name "Spider's Nest Mountain" was given to this specific location. Also, the name "Spider's Nest Mountain" refers to the arrangement of the steep mountains located on either side of this area, not the walkway that runs through it! The "Lanayru Promenade" is the walkway itself that leads travelers to the base of Lanayru Mountain. As for the structures from LoZ:SS that line the canyon walls, well, the overall path does lead to a Goddess Statue (first introduced in LoZ:SS), and a sacred/impressive statue like that deserves an equally sacred/impressive looking pathway leading to it! (In order to honor and respect the Ancient Goddess Hylia and her "chosen" people, that is.)

    Just wanted to say like three years later that this place was probably built during Skyward Sword. Notice the diamond symbols on the archways in the concept art, and, of course, the loftwings. So this mostly likely has something to do with Zelda’s powers in SS or the aftermath of SS. I personally don’t know much about SS, but I know you do :)

  • @ademkin
    @ademkin 4 года назад

    The fact this place is one of many to be gorgeous, with intricate designs, and seems to have History behind it, yet holds nothing more than a few koroks, a shrine and monsters, is part of what makes the game so good for me. It's desolation, places that used to have been lively and busy are now quiet, peaceful and mourning. Most games would fill these kinds of locations with events, quests and stuff to do, BotW just leaves it almost empty, and that's the eery beauty of it and what makes the game stand out so much from other games. I fear they will actually make these areas more populated with quests and events in the sequel to catter to the mainstream who you still see complain about the world being "too empty". Hell, people's main complaint about the game is still ( besides the FPS count ) the weapons breaking too fast, while the search for new weapons is obviously one of the things that'll drive you to actually explore. I love exploration in games and never had any issue with weapons in the game, had too many of them most of the time actually.
    Ah, that escalated into a rant.

    The Lanayru promenade was most likely built after the Era of the Sky to link the 3 areas together after the Skyloftians returned to the surface. After many centuries of unease between the kingdoms of the surface, the passage fell unused and the new "eight-legged tenants" moves in, giving the area its nickname, The Spiders Nest. Then again, over time, the area filled with water and cleansed the area of its eight-legged evil inhabitants.

    Interesting theory, and possible. But, I feel like the real reason it looks like the forgotten temple is: 3d animation takes a lot of time and effort, especially if you're making detailed patterns and reliefs. So it's normal that things would get recycled from time to time. I feel that the large arches might have supported a roof that has collapsed or was destroyed (otherwise why would they be there?) And that this promenade might have been the former location of Zoras Domain.

    I think it's a viable option for Vah Ruta's awakening. Naydra also probably goes there as it is in (architecture wise) similar relation to The Ancient Hylians', who I assume tamed the ancient dragons long ago. The shrine is most likely there (and I assume it was there before the promenade was built) because the Ancient Hylians didn't know what it was and wanted to further study it, and after realizing it's tech, decided to build something around it, as maybe a convenient location or something...My second theory is that It was built because of it being next to Lanayru mountain's entrance, and they wanted to monitor it as it was a place of holy worship.
    In case you were wondering about the whole 'Ancient Hylains taming the three Dragons' here is a quick explanation:
    I assume that they both are of the same or similar time in existence, due to the fact that the three goddesses are somewhat forgotten when it comes to BOTW and its non-playable-characters. What also is forgotten (almost entirely)? That's right, the Ancient Hylains. Now, I don't know how it came to be, but most likely the Ancient Hylians noticed the power of the dragons and wanted to tame them for those capabilities. I assume that the dragons still remember the Ancient Hylians, as they hang out rather close to old structures built by them. Now before you reply with 'Farosh doesn't hang out around any Ancient Hyrulean structures', I speculate that Farosh was tamed by the Zonai, due to it mostly flying around the tropical regions. The Zonai might have also been blessed by Farosh, due to the overwhelming growth in the tropical regions.
    These are simple speculations. Leave your theories in the replies!

    It probably is the same road, but after thousands of years things like erosion, lanslides, and other effects more than likely terraformed the land. The spring itself was more than likely maintained by the people(not just Hylians but all who follow Hylia) up until travel to the location became unnecessary. As for the water, the flooding may be connection to Skyward Sword's Water Dragon. Back then, she had complete control over the water level, and could raise/lower it at will. But eventually she died, leaving the water level entirely up to the course of nature.

    I just had a thought... Since the forgotten temple was a place to record all the heroes who fought against Ganon, shouldn't there be some kind of info about the original pilots of the divine beasts? Why isn't there? It's hard to imagine that the dormant guardians over there would've just randomly destroyed everything when it seems like nobody's been there in a long time, so there's no reason for the guardians to just aimlessly attack it, right? Just a random thougth
