I just thought: what if someone finds this video in like a 100 years from now, and vocaloid is no longer nearly as known as now, then he would really be forgotten by time. Just hope people never forget our KAITO, cuz he is amazing
What my belief of this song is that its about a warrior who was once in a great war with many other men whom he held close. He died in battle which is why no one notices him and is stuck in the battle grounds which is now a town(hence the wall he is standing by)and is left wating and wondering for them forever .
This is one of those songs that touches you on such a deep level, that you find yourself humming along even if you've never heard it before, because your heart already knows it... At least, it's that way for me.
So here is what I think is being said in this song: After the war was over and they had won but lost a lot of men, one soldier (Kaito) goes back to his village where he and his friends lived. Not knowing where they had gone to, he waits for them endlessly, forgotten by time, his heart not beating since his friends are actually long dead, as is he... (Don't attack me, this is what I think of it! xD)
***** Happy Prince?? I don't recall knowing that one. Seeing (after I looked it up) it's a sort of fairytale story (I believe), I never read or heard of that one. What I wrote above is still my opinion on what I see when I listen to the song/read the lyrics ^^ But thank you for telling me, I didn't know that :)
I think Kaito knew his friends to be dead, but chose to deny this and wait for them, pretending they would return. He was stopping his heart in that he was stopping it from grieving for his comrades, who he was trying to convince himself were still alive.
My theory is similar! He died in combat so they erected a statue in the village to honor him as a hero of war and his spirit goes back to the village to wait for his friends from the army to come visit him only for them to never come for him and time stands still for him as he has become the statue
Hello, guys. I wrote singable translyrics for this song. I hope you like them. In the illustrious street stood alone the one forsaken by time His tired effigy against bygone crimson stains over the wall, Gaze strayed for the rushing stream of lives, he forlorn awaits. A pleading prayer by the sword of seasons past; by his hand long lead Ever so, the war of many moons has come to end, Where has the tempest hurled them? Do they wander the land where grass has ne'er grown and stain their blades still? Ever I await. The flow of time has seen the scythe of death. Ever we had laid upon its grave. The wind has stayed its song, And that silent prayer lost its wake among the waves. The voices once echoed, I no longer hear, and might unseen stays my feet. The seams entwine of a path ensnared still, Yet my feet are hostage with regret. Fell the dawning sun, and the moon of blood soon raised. Stranded by time, the night sorrowful wanes and bids farewell. The ones that with faith endlessly fought along my side, In what shore are they adrift? Do they roam the wizened lands abandoned by the wind and wield their strife still? I await for their return. I can recall those days of old in which my comrades shouldered my frail life- Now in this street I alone stand still, Were their olden figures trifling whispers of the breeze? My astray hands seek to heed A precious answer etched in yonder sand: Why is it I dwell here? With my jilted path; the reason only I bare such barren fate. My ever-defying deeds had long since ceased to resound From that sound, silence enveloped me. I grasp the fading cage of my chest, My heart, too, no longer beats. Akin to the stream of time, struck by mortal scythe, I have reached the fabled valley of tears. And the lingering gale will not journey upon this land, My lament howled in soundless core This must be the place in which I am meant to abide, Adrift on cruel time, Alone I wait.
Aeir Soulhaven Seeing an intelligent comment still surprises me when I'm constantly surrounded by idiots in my class that can only write things like "The dog is sad." -___- vocaloid fans are all smart
kaito's soul is in a statue the towns ppl made for him but he is still waiting for his comrades and friends to come back even though they never will. kaito was dead since the beginning of the song.
There are two ways I interpret this song and both ways are heartbreaking. The first way (I like to call the lesser of two evils) is that Kaito is suffering from survivor's guilt as all of his friends died in the war but he did not, but looking more into the lyrics the other way (I like to call the greater of two evils) is that he doesn't realize that HE is dead and so he continues to search for his friends who are still among the living. Like I said, both ways are heartbreaking.
I think he died, and the song is from the perspective of a statue of him that has been raised for his glory, but it's forgotten and nobody pays attention to it anymore and he isn't aware what's happened to him ;;
waiting for his comrades who'll nvr come back alone...not knowing he's dead...his spirit trapped in the statue...imagine how long he has waited for something which will nvr happen...sad T^T...
I think this is the story Kaito has seen everyone die but he was the only one left so he wandered and wandered till her slept for a few years the awakes and goes looking around so it feels like he is forgotten by everyone so it feels like time has stopped no one knows him so he is only left to wander with his old rusty blade which he had in the war which everyone he loved was slain
Kaito needs to be made compatible with newer computers. As it stands, with Windows 7 and Vista, if you click to click and drag for too long he'll lock up and you'll have to restart him. He's got such a beautiful depth to his voice that I think it needs to be preserved for future prospective Vocaloid users. Him and Meiko both, actually. Their mature sound is impossible to match with the Vocaloid 2's.
I thought this was more of Kaito entering death state, thus explaining the stop in time and the wind never reaching its destination. Kaito probably knew that he's dead but refuse to accept it, which is why he waits for his friends. Kaito's soul may have seen other lost souls floating about, which can explain why he didn't see his comrades, and he accepts that he's different for being dead. Your reasoning is possible too, because it explains why the comrades never came to Kaito's grave site.
2:58 to 3:40 - Kaito's death made clear at this part. He's "different" from his friends and can't move from his location because of being dead. 3:46 to 3:54 - Time stop, body stop, and wait for friends. Going back to the beginning of the song at 1:25. 3:59 to 4:10 - He belongs there at the street, people passing by him, waiting for them. This goes all the way back to the first few lines of lyrics Kaito had sung. So, my conclusion is that Kaito's already been dead at the beginning of song.
There's a song in which KAITO and his voice provider Fuga Naoto sing together, it's so amazing! It's called grandfather's clock here's a link /watch?v=OLLw8KJJfM4
@TechShowCanine Look again. Left is on the sword right is on his chest. You need to look at it with the proper orientation. The sword is on our right which means it is in the left hand for Kaito.
Seriously people... Your heart is on the left side of your chest, so you use the opposite hand (right hand) to touch it. Kaito simply moved the switch the sword to his other hand prior touching his heart (sometime after singing about it [sword] being in his right).
it's as YumeYashida said. he offers the prayer around the middle of the song, but puts his hand over his chest at the end, which is what the picture's of.
@CandyFreak1218 same here, his songs seem so powerful.... such a depth is never seen with music on these shores. i seriusly wish more of japan would be seen in america.
@302956 True that, but later on into the song, he touches his chest (where his heart is located). People normally touches their chest/heart with the opposite hand, which would be their right hand. It stands to reason that he moved the sword to his left hand when he touched his heart.
Watching the video a couple more times, I think all his friends died in the war, and it didn't quite register with him (There have been many real cases of this happening to war veterans), so he waited for them to come back until he died. I'm pretty sure it's one of the two : /
@Mweormwitten I can explain that, his spirit took housing in the statue, in making it in his image his spirit must have been atracted to it in some way when he died.
1:17 - No grass grows, means place of the dead. Could also mean battlefield had grass. So, battlefield back then is different from current "street". Either way, his friends aren't in the same place as Kaito's current location. 1:25 to 1:34 -Time has stopped when everyone was there. Hints that this is when Kaito's been separated from friends. Kaito's prayers for friends didn't reach the other side also adds onto the fact. 1:42 - Voices no longer "there". "There" as in the other side. Next post.
Here's my take. 0:37 - The street is the current setting. Mention of time forgotten one. Since this song is about Kaito being so, it must mean Kaito's talking about his own story. 0:46 - Crimson stained wall, mark of Kaito's grave site? 0:52 - People walking by him. He's been waiting for friends. 1:00 - Kaito offers a prayer. He prays for his friends. 1:10 to 1:13 - War already ended, he wonders where his friends had gone. Next.
1:44 to 1:54 - Here's the tricky part. Is this the first time the wall appears? Or is it a part of a repeating cycle? 1:57 to 2:05 - A start to the repeating cycle or not? 2:28 to 2:40 - Repeat of 1:17 to 1:34 2:45 to 2:52 - Friends being together back then, but Kaito's now alone on current street. 2:54 - Like voices, familiar faces are gone. The voices he mentioned could also means his friend's voices, rather than the people passing by him. So this means Kaito's been dead long before. Next.

I get it! He's a statue of a war hero! From now on, whenever I pass a statue of a great hero or leader, I'm going play this song and say, "Time has not forgotten you..." And that statue will smile (internally smile).
I think Kaito died in the war and doesn't know it. It seems like he's died, but he continues to wait for them without knowing when or even if they'll ever join him.
@TheRogueVocaloid I agree. Like, the Vocaloid 2 series is great, but Crypton started leaning more towards a younger audience, and towards voices that would be able to produce fast, quick songs, usually upbeat. Meiko and Kaito on the other hand, despite being more prone to sounding robotic when used wrong and not realyl being able to sing songs that are too high/fast, have a unique voice that the "younger" sounding Vocaloid 2 series just can't match.
I just thought: what if someone finds this video in like a 100 years from now, and vocaloid is no longer nearly as known as now, then he would really be forgotten by time.
Just hope people never forget our KAITO, cuz he is amazing
10years later and he still is my favorite boi, the way as a program he manage to transfer emotions many human voices could today thru his singing.
What my belief of this song is that its about a warrior who was once in a great war with many other men whom he held close. He died in battle which is why no one notices him and is stuck in the battle grounds which is now a town(hence the wall he is standing by)and is left wating and wondering for them forever .

Hello, guys. I wrote singable translyrics for this song. I hope you like them.
In the illustrious street stood alone the one forsaken by time
His tired effigy against bygone crimson stains over the wall,
Gaze strayed for the rushing stream of lives, he forlorn awaits.
A pleading prayer by the sword of seasons past; by his hand long lead
Ever so, the war of many moons has come to end,
Where has the tempest hurled them?
Do they wander the land where grass has ne'er grown and stain their blades still?
Ever I await.
The flow of time has seen the scythe of death.
Ever we had laid upon its grave.
The wind has stayed its song,
And that silent prayer lost its wake among the waves.
The voices once echoed, I no longer hear, and might unseen stays my feet.
The seams entwine of a path ensnared still,
Yet my feet are hostage with regret.
Fell the dawning sun, and the moon of blood soon raised.
Stranded by time, the night sorrowful wanes and bids farewell.
The ones that with faith endlessly fought along my side,
In what shore are they adrift?
Do they roam the wizened lands abandoned by the wind and wield their strife still?
I await for their return.
I can recall those days of old in which my comrades shouldered my frail life-
Now in this street I alone stand still,
Were their olden figures trifling whispers of the breeze?
My astray hands seek to heed
A precious answer etched in yonder sand:
Why is it I dwell here?
With my jilted path; the reason only I bare such barren fate.
My ever-defying deeds had long since ceased to resound
From that sound, silence enveloped me.
I grasp the fading cage of my chest,
My heart, too, no longer beats.
Akin to the stream of time, struck by mortal scythe,
I have reached the fabled valley of tears.
And the lingering gale will not journey upon this land,
My lament howled in soundless core
This must be the place in which I am meant to abide,
Adrift on cruel time,
Alone I wait.
Idea: He was _literally_ forgotten by time. Therefor: Time no longer flows for him, and those within the normal stream of time cannot perceive him.
He's a ghost
+Aeir Soulhaven YOU ARE FUCKING SMART WOW
Brian Huynh If he was just a ghost, then he wouldn't be so... stiff. The song heavily implies he can barely move.
Good point
Aeir Soulhaven Seeing an intelligent comment still surprises me when I'm constantly surrounded by idiots in my class that can only write things like "The dog is sad." -___- vocaloid fans are all smart
I really like Kaito's voice. And the song is beautiful.💙
song finishes, or at least says its finished, and the soundtrack starts up again.
Well at least i don't have to hit repeat!
There are two songs on this channel that does that! I think it was Knight in training and uninstall!
I think kaito needs a hug
I think so too.
Sounds like he's a ghost and all his comrades went to the afterlife, except for him. How sad!
Am i the only one who still loves this song
nope
@@ulaskeskinol93 Epick
There is a Remake Version of this song by Hinayukki, you can search it in youtube,.

I FOUND IT. OMG IVE BEEN LOOKING FOR THIS FOR GOD KNOWS HOW LONG
He's a statue...
My poor baby. This was one of my first kaito songs...
Love it, still one of my fav's
I can't get over how beautiful this song is
kaito's soul is in a statue the towns ppl made for him but he is still waiting for his comrades and friends to come back even though they never will. kaito was dead since the beginning of the song.

I LOVE THE SECOND ONE SO MUCH
I think he died, and the song is from the perspective of a statue of him that has been raised for his glory, but it's forgotten and nobody pays attention to it anymore and he isn't aware what's happened to him ;;
I should make an animatic based on this.
Btw,Kaito= best Vocaloid 10/10
THE HARMONIES IN THIS *AAAAAAAAAAAAAAH*
waiting for his comrades who'll nvr come back alone...not knowing he's dead...his spirit trapped in the statue...imagine how long he has waited for something which will nvr happen...sad T^T...
i will forever love this song

he I meant I was doing it in a rush
sorry for the the wrong words and stuff
that's an interesting theory. I like it better then mine
I thought he died too and was roaming streets as a ghost
YOU MAKE INSTRUMENTALS TO ALL OF HIS SONGS!!!! THE MUSIC TO EVERY ONE OF HIS SONGS IS JUST BEAUTIFUL!!!!
*PLOT TWIST:* The ones he fought with and he is waiting for ran away married, had many children and *forgot about him*.
I interpreted it as after the battle his spirit lingered and it took him a while to notice he was dead
thefiregodzapp Yesyes, that's what I'm thinking now!
This is my favorite vocaloid song ever tbh.
The pic is awesome ! As well as this sad song !
Very nice~ Love the song! My heart always hurt when listening to this... >A
Geez, so many awesome Kaito songs. Thanks for uploading!

Ahhh still a masterpiece
This is so awesome. Kaito sounds great and the song is touching.
This is a pretty song!

The Master who made this song is genius. He got the Kaito perfectly~
This song has got to be my favorite from Kaito. It made me cry the first time I watched it. I love Kaito.
omg i just noticed how this was uploaded a day after my B-day last year........ I LOVE YOU KAITO!!
This song makes me want to cry when I hear it. In fact, most sad KAITO songs do. ;-;
wow!! i love this song! its sounds so nice!!
goo! kaito!! nice as voice! suits the song!
this song just makes everything so much more authentic
i love your videos hokorichan!!! you have so many....
Just listening to this song I can already feel that he's been forgotten by time and he is very lonely right now...how sad.
This was an amazing song. So sad but still truly amazing, I'm even tearing. ~_~

@TechShowCanine
Look again. Left is on the sword right is on his chest. You need to look at it with the proper orientation. The sword is on our right which means it is in the left hand for Kaito.
Love kaito
japanese tuners, you'll never beat the classic japanese V1...
I like Kaito's high tone in this song.

Forever alone isn't as funny anymore...
It amazes me how his voice is deeper than mine, but still manages to reach a high pitch that even I can't reach.
Next post.
One thing about it saying, he offers a prayer with he sword in his right hand. In the picture, the sword is in his left hand.
I agree... Judging by the pitch, and her distinctive voice effect, I think it IS Meiko
Some say Kaito is outdated... they haven't heard him done well! ^-^ Like this!
I like what you said there!
Kaito & Gakupo needs more love!
This song hurts my soul...
gorgeous photo!
I listend to this a year ago...and i love it again. *goes to put on ipod*
The best song ever!!!!!!!
Next.
This song is so sad... Its spiritual and beautiful
I feel so sorry for Kaito... It's an amazing song, by the way.
1:44 to 1:54 - Here's the tricky part. Is this the first time the wall appears? Or is it a part of a repeating cycle?
1:57 to 2:05 - A start to the repeating cycle or not?
2:28 to 2:40 - Repeat of 1:17 to 1:34
2:45 to 2:52 - Friends being together back then, but Kaito's now alone on current street.
2:54 - Like voices, familiar faces are gone. The voices he mentioned could also means his friend's voices, rather than the people passing by him. So this means Kaito's been dead long before.
Next.
so pretty...
D'8
its sad but i love it
why is it i always like the songs that make me sad? ah yeah, because of the wonderful story
kind of sad when you read the lyrics, but even so, it's almost impossibly epic.

i love this song, Kaito......so amazing..!!
DONT DIE!!!! DX

this is random, but it sorts of reminds me of the salt and pepper diner skit by john mulaney. the song fades out, and then starts again. and you’re left to wonder: is this song just much longer than i originally thought, or is it replaying?

@sadlilgrl ah! it makes so much more sense knowing that!
I get it! He's a statue of a war hero!
From now on, whenever I pass a statue of a great hero or leader, I'm going play this song and say, "Time has not forgotten you..." And that statue will smile (internally smile).
Once the video reached 4:50 it stopped playing and the bar doesn't show the rest of the video. Spooky.
I think Kaito died in the war and doesn't know it. It seems like he's died, but he continues to wait for them without knowing when or even if they'll ever join him.
Awwe Kaito TTwTT
Sam White is correct. In the picture, his left hand is on the hilt of the sword while his right is over his chest.
Lovely. ;3;
So very true.
