Never a truer statement there, ''wherever you drive you just wanna hear it''...its sooooo intoxicating, by far and away the best mod I've done to mine..car looks and sound brilliant..
Bumpers, brakes, suspension, boot lid, airbox & some + tuning. All the fitting, inspection 2. To add all that up will be 10g easy. Then there's the other things on top like maintenance, rod bearings subframe etc. Take in the cost of the car and the money it'll add you won't be too far off a real CSL which will always hold its value. I can't say anything cos I've dumped a whole load of money in mine with the airbox etc.
Pretty much bought all the parts listed - bumpers, boot lid, K sport 8 pot kit.. inspection 2 and boot floor plated last year to, yes a serious money pit lol..I've been strict on keeping the cost's noted and enjoyed the journey building it, will still be under £20,000 once completed "fingers crossed" but the next videos should be up in the coming weeks :)

Correct, unfortunately you guys in America did not receive the CSL (Coupe Sport Light) model of the ultimate E46 from BMW. As can be seen from a few of my videos in can be replicated but it will never be a genuine one
Hi. I'm also now looking at a perfect csl replica air box. What else is needed to fit it to the standard car and have it running? Do you need a ecu flash and a tune or will it run fine without?
Hi David, you'll need more than just the air box, to do it properly - CSL cloned Ecu running MAP sensor as the standard uses MAF if you want it to drive like a factory car, SMG models require the CSL reservoir as the stock tank is built into the factory air box.. you will also need a few fittings from BMW for the breathers etc, if you check out the e46 M3 section on M3cutters forum there's a full guide in the sticky section of what's required. To do it all new don't expect much change from £3,000 the other much cheaper option for 50% of the noise is an Eventuri intake which can run the standard map at under £750 all in (I reviewed one in my Z4m video which has the same engine as the E46 m3

Hi mate. I brought myself a 53 plate m3 last week and it’s very similar to yours, it also has a carbon intake but who ever fitted it has done a poor job as it’s leaking air and making the eml light come on 😬 if you don’t mind me asking, who fitted it for you? And could you possibly point me in the right direction of getting it sorted? Great car btw, sounds awesome!
+Phil Stocks morning Phil, I fitted it all myself, whereabouts in the U.K. Are you based? There's plenty of specialists and I would certainly recommend fixing it before doing any damage to the engine
I’m in Lutterworth, south Leicestershire J20 on M1 I’ve been doing a few google search’s and evolve in Luton look pretty good, have you had any dealings with them?
+Phil Stocks not exact local to me, would have had a quick look for you as it really is straight forward fitting the air box! Have you fault code checked as you may have something a simple as faulty air inlet temp sensor? The biggest mistake I could see some one making fitting wise would not be checking all the inlet connecting couplers are sealing round the throttle bodies/ air box and if your running alpha N upgrade to MAP sensor - big improvement! If the air box is leaking it's usually off for repair
I took it to my local bmw specialist and they said the fault was the air box and the only thing they could do was put it back to standard 😔 it’s definitely had a map on it though because they said the sensor has been mapped out, felt like they didn’t want to no tbh. I’ll keep searching for info and have a look myself. Failing that I’ll look for a tuning company. Thanks for the replies anyway pal, much appreciated

truth is the airbox was only fitted to save weight, no power gain.
+vxlgsi surprised to hear that, any info to back it up?
vxlgsi it wasn't to save weight, it was to maximize the increased valve overlap of the camshafts in the CSL, and also because they could
with an alpha N steering it will make a ton of more power realy your information is wrong
i just got mine done with headers and alpha n tune and it feels much more powerful. i wouldnt be surprised if im up 40-60 hp
I would say 90 percent of the horsepower comes from the tune, 10 percent from the intake. Personal opinion no facts here. Fake news.
