Thanks for this, Menurella! Perlemuter is a fairly recent discovery of mine, and now I adore his playing! His Chopin has to be among the greatest of all time--I rank him as one of my favourite Chopinists--along with his teacher Cortot, and Novaes, Lipatti (another Cortot pupil), and the still-living Czech pianist Ivan Moravec. Not to mention his Ravel and Faure--superbe! He also has excellent taste in his "desert island" choices! Marveilleux!!
I can't believe the tempo for Furtwangler's Bach . This means something compared to the brisk speeds we hear so often . It's different music here . I can't say I prefer it but he must have believed this was it -he left it this way for posterity . Amazing to hear P. talk about Moskowsky. He went way back . Would love to know what he thought of Hofmann and other pianists
This is a treasure.
Thank you very, very much.
Splendid choices by Perlemuter, and so interesting to hear him talk about his meetings with the great French composers... merci Menurella!
Perlemuter 's taste and judgement ! Unforgettable wish I could have heard him !
Oh my god thank you so much for uploading this. I'm currently writing my master's thesis on Ravel and this is so useful!

He didn't choose any piano music. Interesting.
So amazing to hear comments and memories of my maestro!!

Je vous en prie!
It’s like a French person trying to sound British but all jokes aside, this guy is a legend
Son Ravel fut sa première langue, et l'anglais, la seconde, tant il a été longtemps, beaucoup trop longtemps, méconnu dans son pays d'adoption....
having had lessons by Vlado I can say you had no reason to play a nocturne like a march.ow
