I remember him in one of the early seasons, spending a ton of money on a birthday party for himself, then leaving early to go back to his hotel room and saying how you can be lonely in a room full of people. I feel for the guy. I think he’s deeply soulful, and often aware that being around people doesn’t prevent loneliness.
I don't envy him. Being born with a silver spoon is not as easy as it seems: it's a toll on the mental health. Always having to wonder if any relationship you have, friends or BFs, are after our money. Clearly, the last two relationships portrayed on the show turned up that way. (big ka-ching! for those 2 guys - he showered them with gifts and they kept coming for more). I also think his nonchalance disguised as confidence, hides all those insecurities, this malaise. Considering all that, he's doing pretty well. He seems to be taking better care of himself (he skipped the shotski) and seem to be surrounding himself with good people. Altman and Tracy seem like good, genuine people. The new BF as well.
Fans are accustomed to paying money at conventions for photos. For all we know she donated the money. SJP won’t take a photo unless you donate money to a library fund, I think it’s a library fund.
