  • After eyeing off this inflatable kayak for ages, I finally took the plunge and bought one. I like it. It can't compete with my trusty hardshell fishing/camping kayak, but I like it. I think it'll make for a quick, light and portable option for random adventures.
    Stay well out there folks!
    Mark.

    Hello, Im 5,9 feet tall and around 60 kg = 130 pounds and want to buy this kayak but not sure should I take k1 or k2...
    I probably want to do some over night trips too, so is there enough space for the gear In k1?

    • @RedPathRambler
      @RedPathRambler  Год назад

      I'm a tad taller and heavier but that wasn't an issue for the K1. The main issue was space around you. Probably totally fine for a day trip. If you packed very minimally to keep the weight down you could do an overnighter, but again room for gear is minimal, and you'd probably have to strap things to the front and back. So I would definitely go the K2 for solo overnighters or multi day trips. You'd get so much more gear in.

    I'm 6' 3" - Would you say this kayak would be comfortable or should I go for the tandem?

    • @RedPathRambler
      @RedPathRambler  Год назад

      I think you'd be ok if you were just doing short paddle trips with very minimal gear. The foot rest does adjust further away, but it leaves little room at the front for gear, even though you still have space for gear behind you. Anything longer, like overnight camping, you'd be better off with the double to take more gear. I'm 5' 10" and I didn't feel like I was cramped.

    Took mine out today for the first time. Bought it a year ago but never got around to it.
    I love it, tracks pretty well.
    Cheers

      I agree. But I confess I've still only used it this one one time, and it was a curiosity buy that was on sale at the time. My No.1 kayak wins every time I decide to venture out. But the inflatable is a good back-up!

      @@RedPathRambler Well i have another option which is a folding sailing canoe from east Germany.
      Which is the superior option (but twice the weight and triple building time) but i have to transport them by bicycle trailer.
      Therefor i believe the inflatable will see more use. :))

    Hi there can you give an advice should I buy it or its juste wasting of money
    Ps : I will use it in Mediterranean sea

    • @RedPathRambler
      @RedPathRambler  2 года назад +1

      I wouldn't say it's a waste of money. It's quite a stable and capable kayak on the calm lake water I've used it on. I haven't been in it on rougher water so I have no knowledge of it's capability as far as that goes. But I suggest you search for more videos of people using inflatables on sea water or rougher waters. It is well made though. 👍

      It's called the TracPort Dash 350 (mm)
      I've also got the longer 500 on my hardshell kayak. Great item.

    Thinking about getting this kayak. Do you still like it? Have you had any issues with it?

    • @RedPathRambler
      @RedPathRambler  2 года назад +1

      I've still only used it the once, and no issues. Most chances I get to go out I use my hardshell kayak. But I couldn't fault the inflatable really. It's great for what it is. And easier to transport.

      Bro there's people who have had this kayak for 3-5 years as long as when you store it you dont have any hard creases then it will last a long while. I'm going to buy one myself.
