Bruce Pritchard (Malcolm McDowell) is a vibrant young man whose life is disrupted when he is severely injured during a soccer match and loses the use of both legs. Sent to a convalescent home, Bruce becomes sullen and withdrawn as he deals with the reality of his new state. However, when he meets another handicapped patient, the lovely Jill Matthews (Nanette Newman), he gains a new appreciation for life. The two quickly fall for each other, and begin a supportive relationship.

I live in the US, but I will say the UK is so intriguing to me. Miss Nanette is just adding to that intrigue. Their old mansion was so huge and beautiful too!

Pure class such a lady
This was based on a true story about the author of the book . He had polio in his teens and was in an iron lung for a long time. He only had the use of 1 arm and used an electric wheelchair. He met his wife who worked in the Cheshire home he was in. They had 1 son Jason . I met his wife where we both worked in Worthing Sx. I became good friends with both Peter and Lorraine. They moved back to their roots in Yorkshire sadly Peter died a few years later. Regrettably I have lost touch with them. So lovely to see a picture of him.
Quite strange she says she was 18 when this film came out but by her age she was at least 36 yrs old, so unless it took 18 years to make, it doesn't add up.
That’s when she first met her husband Bryan Forbes. He directed Raging Moon in 1971
It was a pre-amble on how she met the man who she would marry and would direct her in this movie.
