Your setup as it is now is just about as "Sleeper" as it'll get. If you go and swap out the exhaust it'll be obviously louder, and the blower will add to that as well. Boost usually allows the motor to run more efficiently, hence the quite decent Highway MPG under "Normal Driving Conditions." I think you should keep it as it is, and enjoy it without the worry that the Cops will hound you about noise. Be Well Mike! I was thinking of whipplecharging it like my 16 was,but I can tell they're still as slow as ever.
I think I'll run twin turbos & have a real boosted f150.
I will research more on the whipple 1st as I prefer low end boost vs lag then drag like a v6 turbo.
I have to disagree with you Mike. The exhaust is great, not obnoxious like some of your other cars and the previous F150, and I think the supercharger whine is quite annoying in most supercharged cars including your old F150.
I think this one is just right.

100% Intake, you’ll get a similar sound to the F150 that you tested, might have to re-tune it afterwards for optimal performance. Sweet truck!
Do you want some cheese with your wine, or lack there of??? I just made a soft easy pass in my 2023 F150 4wd Whipple charged at 52 degrees on a cool night in Texas. First WOT pass from dead stop, roll into throttle from dead stop, and ran a 0-60 in 4.19 seconds per Draggy. I am totally stoked! Full tank of fuel and did not load launch. About to install my BWoody traction bars and I am sure to get into the 3's. I don't want my pinion facing the bed when launching so waiting on the traction bars before a full send. Great video AutoVlog and thank you for your content. I am going the Platinum Black Appearance Package lowered street truck theme so probably better times than lifted truck. God Bless!!
I believe the truck is much more insulated than the previous model and that's why you don't hear it so loud inside.
He can have some of the insulation removed to hear........

If you want wine, put an Aluminum Cold air intake on it, with the conical air filter
....and take the hood insulation off. It will make a difference inside the cab.
Beautiful truck! I actually have the same exact truck, minus the upgrades that you’ve done though. But mine is a 2021 black lariat with the 5.0 engine. Anyways, Borla has finally released their new exhaust systems for these trucks! I have an S-type exhaust on order for my truck. You should definitely go back to a Borla Atak exhaust like you had on your previous F-150. The Atak exhaust would sound sick with that whipple supercharger! Love your channel. Keep up the good work!
My 16 whipplecharged f150 had the borla atak.
The supercharger made no difference in it's sound & vs versa.
The borla atak is a great exhaust for a 5.0 f150,the whipple,not so much.

If you want to hear the whine a little more, maybe try replacing your stock intake with a K&N Series 63 AirCharger Cold Air Intake.
Change the air intake and put a smaller pulley on the supercharger and that thing will wind so loud
My brother put a Roush supercharger on his Mustang and he was disappointed the whine was pretty quiet as well. Also, because the fuel injectors are changed out for larger ones, his computer's fuel economy now lies to him. Yours probably got larger fuel injectors too. Calculate your true fuel economy at the pump with your tripometer and you may be disappointed again. The supercharger is an extra load on the engine so it will be less efficient.
Not gonna lie, I agree with you on the missing whine. Still an awesome truck though!
Mine is a 2018 F-150 5.0L Lariat with everything stock and highway tires and I get 22.5 MPG on the highway and 17.5 around town.
4.4 sec 0-60 for your truck, with those big wheels/tyres, off road suspension, etc is more badass than I think most people will be able to comprehend. Straight up legit!

Supercharger whine is bad, means theres restriction in the supercharger itself. The whipple run really good and it performs really good so it won't whine
What's the ballpark price for a supercharger install, $15k or more? Put E85 in it for a little more giddy up. My 20 has an Omega tune and feels like a dog on 91 compared to E85.
Take a road trip to the Whipple factory...maybe they can make it louder and you get cool content

If you got a smaller pulley it would spin the blower faster and make more noise but you would probably have to build your engine with all forged internals to handle the extra HP and torque.
It definitely needs a real tune more than anything.
I bet he's running the lame whipple tune with gobs a gobs of torque mgmt.
Roush superchargers suck ass too for the same reason.
You buy a one of these superchargers & all you get is a placebo effect making you think your trucka faster when it's actually still a turd.

My 04 GTP had everything from Z performance including the open to fender intake box with cone filter. And that was by far the coolest mod. It whined all the way through the rev range. Threw a smaller pulley on and tuned it and it was a monster. Its the intake man.
just redirect the intake through the firewall into the cabin, u will hear everything plus the air is always not hot
I don’t think the shift out of 4x4 netted you the extra time. The DA was almost half of what it was the prior day. That’s where the extra time .2 came from. Great truck! Getting a whipple Thursday on my reg cab.

Honestly back when you were trying to decide which truck after selling your last supercharged f150, I thought the 7.3 super duty would have been much more interesting. You had one of these already. But it’s cool man. Maybe next time :)
I was told that spark plugs had to be changed every 24k miles and oil change had to be done at 5 k using full synthetic oil. How true are those statements? If you have a response to them.
On your perception for a fast truck. I am right there with you. I lower mine 2/4 and put 22’s on it. Installed a custom grille. A few other mods too. My 0-60 on 93 tune is 4.3sec.
I was disappointed that the whipple on my GT didnt make any whine noise either so I did the foster sound tube mod. Pretty sure you could do that with the f150 also.
Live the videos and the channel. The last truck you did a mod to hear the whine more if I remember correctly. Tounge in cheek, shines like the truck has a whine, but from the driver's seat!

I didn’t read all the comments to see whether not this was addressed but the new GEN five Whipple supercharger is much more efficient and quieter than the gym for the gym for made a lot more noise so it’s not any fault of Whipple. It’s just much more quieter than the older generation, but I also agree with you. I love the Supercharger wine of the hellcat which I have and I’m also putting a supercharger on my F150.
Mike the reason why rpm stays higher on cold start is to warm up cats for better emissions. Im sure that could be tuned out

Sam's truck from back road driver has a healthy supercharger whine to it.......but my humble opinion is that i prefer yours to that. I think it sounds great. Consider it a sleeper and dont mess with it anymore!😊
Some people make a hose that goes from the intake into the cab for the sound only. I can’t remember where I saw that but you should do it.
I have a 12th gen ecoboost F150 SuperCab. Not even a a crew cab and the tires/wheels are not quite as big as yours and with me (210 lbs) in it the truck weighs 6100 lbs. crazy what the aluminum does.
They have an option when you buy the kit to have it noisier or not and it cost extra to make it noisier.
Way too concerned about sound.
There is a boost tube mod that will pump the sound in the truck .
I agree, supercharge whine is important, must be intake related, something to do with the way its hooked up to the hood.
It’s not shifting out of4 wheel while under a load like that very good time
Be glad there's hardly any noise from the SC, cause that sound just sucks and it would only ruin the soundexperience of the exhaust, like it did on the old truck. There's no more beautiful sound than the deep roar of a quality exhaust.
just need the supporting mods. like some stated intake, open up the exhaust, and put a smaller pulley on it. you just dont have have it open up and the changer isnt working hard enough to whine.
Very impressive results , can you stop it ? I recommend focusing on the brakes next so you don’t get yourself in trouble. Stay safe that is almost 6k lbs you need to bring to a hault if someone pulls out in front of you.

Totally agree about the whine! Need to sort that out! In my humble opinion as a uk subscriber, (where superchargers are not the norm) the sound is almost as important as the go! Only uk car that was probably the loudest supercharger I've ever heard was the monaro bathurst edition
I totally disagree. Supercharger whine, to me, sounds like a bad transmission bearing. Just my opinion.

Mike try a new intake and remove the sound deadening material under the hood. I did that in my RS and you could hear the intake so much better.
They make a sound tube you can add on that goes from the intake to the cabin
A sound tube from the intake into the cab of the truck should solve your problem with the supercharger wine... they have it for the mustangs they should have it for the F150
Open air intakes suck in heat from the engine bay which can affect performance. Enclosed Air intakes are better
Put a Borla atak on it. It would sound amazing. I also think that the 2021s are just quieter then the last generation

You can’t hear the wine because of your enclosed intake. My intake was enclosed and I took the cover off and it’s so much louder
Hey Mike I recently did a tune to deactivate start stopping and Dynamic Fuel Management on my Chevy which is cylinder deactivation and After I did that my exhaust sounded a lot better too So it's because you deactivated that cylinder deactivation on your 5.0 that's probably why your exhaust sounds better
The louder cold start is probably a combination of the tune and the extra rotational mass of the blower
could always chuck a stainless 4" snorkel to feed the airbox. I reckon thatll make the whine be heard a lot more. Ive also seen mods some mustang guys have done where they run a small pipe from the intake in to the cab with a diaphragm on it to increase the in cab whine.
Mike did you ever have any issues with the transmission ? I’m on the fence of getting a new f150 with the 10 speed

Can't you just install a sound tube... basically pipe in some of that induction noise into your cab. That used to be a 'feature' that maybe was deleted when they installed your supercharger.
There’s no noise because of the air cleaner box. It probably has a resonator in it to keep it quiet. If you remove that it’ll be louder.

I like the "poke" of your wheels and tires, but Ford has some flares by AirDesign on the Ford Accessories page that might look pretty killer on your build! I saw some painted color matched to a Carbonized Grey Lariat on the Gen14 Forums and they look pretty sick! Loving the content good sir!
It is definitely because of the intake.. I put an open element filter on my whipple mustang after having the airbox on it and it was way louder..
Tfl did a review on a Pax power Whipple charged new f150 and the Whipple is super loud
Truck sounds right, don't make it a rough goon mobile, otherwise you might as well join DDE channel and be about making noise
FWIW I have a Gen 4 2.9 Whipple on our Silverado and there isn’t a lot of blower whine either. We have a Corsa Sport catback on it too. You definitely hear it more on softer acceleration vs jumping on it. Although if you put in manual mode the whine is way more noticeable…I believe it likes more rpms. Still love it regardless!

With regards to the whine... change the intake filter to a K&N or similar... or get a better intake filter box.
Mike, what app are you using to time your 0 to 60 and your quarter mile?
If you would get shorter gears in the rear diff that would also help out a lot.
Intake makes huge difference in sounds so well probably get louder wine
Mike, look up the Foster whine mod. It will enhance the supercharger whine inside.

Mike, I believe your friend's suggestion to be correct. Pick up an intake (if they are not available yet, modify your factory box or modify one designed for previous gen) that would have opon filter design. Be sure to leave the factory intake from hood to filter allowing it to funnel cooler fresh air in and bottom of box to shield a bit from hot air coming off the engine. This should keep the performance you are seeing yet dramatically increase supercharger whine.
You have to adjust tune for intake, etc

Do it without sport mode. Also it won’t disengage 4wd till you let off the gas even if you click it mid acceleration.
And try using the advanc trac sport mode + Maybe it will make a difference i notice it hits a little harder them shutting it off completly

I don't understand how you have the Whipple setup and your speedometer is still incorrect. Also are you doing this in sport mode? Seems odd that your truck won't spin the tires when you punch it. My 2021 in sport mode with track off burns the tires for 50 feet... without a blower... but it's lowered with stock wheels. You should put 4:10 gears in it.
The softer whine with big power would be a feature for most. Compared to loud and weak...
Combination of the filter box muffling the s/c or they make kits that you can pipe in the S/c sound to the cabin
What is your gear ratio? Typically, if you want a drag racer u put in lower gears, down to where you still can have enough traction for a good launch if u are looking for the best possible zero to 60 time. Obviously if you lower your gears too much and can't get enough control of traction, that's too low for the tires that are on the vehicle at the time. As u must know, the big tires you are running would require a lower gear to compensate for the larger diameter and mass moment of inertia over the stock tire size and inertia. But doing all this will ruin your highway cruising mpg as u will be cruising at much higher rpms.
a cone filter will for sure make it a little louder for you

Fo those that want to skip the bait and switch... Skip to 11:45 where, after listening to how great the truck is, how heavy the wheels and tires are and how much better and heavier a TRX is... A minimum of 2 times in a row. We get to listen to the disappointment of the Whipple not having enough whine....

I think if you change the air intake to say a cone style filter you will definitely get more sound out of it. Imo
