My father told me years ago that an inebriated Brendan Behan borrowed money from him in the famous Burkes pub, in Clarinbridge, Co. Galway. I never talked to my father much whilst he was alive. He died in 2000. Its only now, looking back in regret, that I wished I talked to my father more, heard more about meeting Brendan Behan, and other stories about his life. But life is a fleeting feast and it's over sooner than we think...carpe diem and remember our sojourn in this world is transitory and its own way miraculous 'accident'....🎭
