Try this: make your shield up in blocking mode when you enter the nether portal then your shield will glitch and stay in blocking mode or block all of the damage but not in blocking mode

i went and hunted for a bunch of the mods in this video and i think i found most of them. here they are in loose order of when they appear in the video. game version is 1.16 bc of the nether physics mod (blocks and mobs crumble to pieces) stereowalker's survive (adds thirst and temperature) dynamic trees (cool trees at the start) cyber's better animal models realistic block physics (ceiling collapses while mining) realistic torches CameraOverhaul (camera tilt while strafing) pollution of the realms (only seen as the floating grey and yellow blocks) yung's better caves (reason why cavegen looks different midway through) dynamic surroundings (i assume made various particle effects, also adds better spatial audio) epic combat (third person and hostile mob animations, extra armor and weapon stats, roll ability) betterportals (lets you see through nether and end portals) some kind of first person viewmodel mod (likely by tr9zw) outvoted (i assume is the hovering inferno boss at the nether fortress) exotic birds (he killed a bird this is so sad) yung's better strongholds (swag stronghold at the end) shaders and resource packs are out of my expertise but i know the last shader was definitely SEUS PTGI, which is a raytracing shader (i know there's a couple mods i might have missed but these are at least some major ones)
