Thank you all for sticking with me! I forgot to say it in the video but I wish you all a beautiful new year! I wish you to truly live and rest during 2025! ✨❤
My personal award for best booktuber definitely goes to you, Silvia! Your videos have been a true delight!🎉 have an amazing new year and stay awesome😊 btw I also read and loved the weirdness that was Piranesi - I will reread that one for sure sometime in 2025!
Finishing the year off strong! Again, great content! the award categories were awesome, and made for a much better viewing experience than another top 10 video
Mad respect for you toughing it out in the cold!! Absolutely loved this slightly unhinged video hahaha. Can't wait to binge Age of Madness this year and meet Orso. And fingers crossed I can finally get to The Road, it's a true TBR veteran of mine hahah. My top 3 of the year is Asunder by Kerstin Hall, Obsidian: Revelation by Sienna Frost and Hell For Hire by Rachel Aaron! Happy New Year dear 🥰
Hahaha thank you Esmay Rosalyne (I will always be using your whole name because you know I like it so much 😂)! ✨ Oh, these are lovely books to look forward to! 😊 Oh, I haven't read any of these! If you had to pick one to recommend above all others, which one would it be? (I am asking for a specific reason)
@@libraryunbounded Hahah you are way too kind about my name!! I think I am gonna go with Asunder by Kerstin Hall, but do keep in mind that it ends with a bit of a cliffhanger and there's no update on book 2 yet (though it is being written, publishers are just being stupid with the release stuff). If you'd rather read a book that already has a sequel, then I'd have to say go for Obsidian: Awakening by Sienna Frost! 🥰
-What a beautiful setting! Thank you for suffering the cold temperatures to bring it to us! -Love the category names! -I was delighted to see Persuasion on this list. I have such a soft spot for this one among the Jane Austen books that I have read (like you, Pride and Prejudice is my favorite and likely always will be). -Dark Matter is on my TBR. I actually ran out and bought it after reading Recursion (possibly my favorite book of the year). Hope to get to it in 2025. Thanks for sharing! May 2025 be another wonderful reading year.
- It was a pleasure, really (i love the cold and that's one of my favorite places) - Thank you ❤️ - Yes! Persuasion is fantastic, really stands out - Oh, cool! I hope you enjoy it (pretty sure you will). I've been meaning to get to Recursion, might have to bump it up Thank you for watching and I hope we all get a good 2025 ❤️
Another great video! Good to hear that Persuasion made this list. It really is an underrated romance. 💕 And I've been meaning to read Odd Thomas. Adding it to my TBR. Happy New Year to you as well! Here's to another year full of amazing books! 🥂🎆
Thank you so much, Ash! ❤️ I know right? Persuasion deserves more love (though I did just call it the Least Annoying Romance but you know, that's high praise 😂). Oh, if you like this type of reads, Odd Thomas is delightful. I do hope you enjoy it!
Your paper plane flying resembles mine 😆 Great video. Loved the categories and “the least annoying romance” cracked me up. I agree though that Persuasion is excellent, and Pride and Prejudice is better. Roadside Picnic is on my want to read list, but not yet on my shelves. I’ll keep an eye out for it. I have been vacillating over reading The Road, and ALMOST bought it in the Boxing Day 20% off sale. Sounds like I should pick up a copy
Did you keep all your toes? Such a great video ^^ I loved the background, the music choices, everything. I don't think I've read any of those books, but The Road is definitely on my TBR.
Braving the wilds and the cold for a video - now that's dedication! A great idea and great categories! Hope you have a restful New Year's Eve and a great 2025 as well! So glad to have found your channel.
Yeah, dedication, not stubbornness, for sure 😅 Thank you for the kind words! And a very Happy New Year to you! May it bring you lots of joyful moments!
Great list! The Road was my book of the year in 2019. I also love Guards! Guards!, The Murder at the Vicarage, Dark Matter, The Tainted Cup, Roadside Picnic, The Ember Blade, Piranesi, and Persuasion. My favourite book this year was The Will of the Many.
You are a woman of fantastic taste, Lyn! 📚 Ah, yes, I've heard lovely things about The Will of the Many. Really need to get to it but I'm still struggling with The Lycanius Trilogy.
Thank you, Ash! You are too kind ❤️ It was slightly uncomfortable, but I was wearing two sweaters, two pairs of pants, and three pairs of socks, so it was okay. ⛄️
Wow that's a killer list. The Road and Piranesi are also some of my favorite reads of this year. This is an amazing video. Can't wait for more. Happy New Year to you and yours.
If not for great booktuber recommendations I still be reading the same category of book thank and very to the point about book not a long intro about this book and funny many thanks few on there I add to my list have a happy new year
I'm 30 seconds into this video. It looks like you are in my neighborhood outside. I LOVE the awards names and your skill with paper airplanes. OK - more into video now.. Once again, you combine amazing category names with the perfect theme music. All you girls love your Orso... How did I not win Most Delightful Weirdness? I demand a recount.
Hahaha yeah, would've been fun if you walked casually in the background 😂 Thank you, I am a well-known plane engineer (mostly for my lack of skill) ✈ I know, Abercrombie has found a way to write the most mediocre man, who is somehow enticing to all women. I guess that should've been the name of the award... This actually made me laugh out loud (the Delightful Weirdness part) 😂 Alright, I recounted and it will appear that you did in fact win Most Delightful Weirdness, Brian! Congratulations! 🎊🥂
@@libraryunbounded YES! Happy New Year, Silvia! 🎉 Thank you for all your videos and funny moments you've made for us :) Your video settings are reaching the ambience level status for me though I really hope all digits stayed well :) The categories were amazing, and I actually laughed out loud when Persuasion got the Least Annoying Romance - poor thing but I guess it is a very high appraisal coming from you =D =D Also, I cannot forget to congratulate you on finding the best character =D
Thank you so much, Misa! ❤️ I am happy to report that as of right now, I still have all of my digits 😂 Least Annoying Romance is the highest praise I can bestow on any love story 😅 Oh, my don't sleep on Abercrombie. He is a fantastic writer! You know, I can totally understand your struggle. I only come up with weird categories because I can't order the books properly if I try to take it too seriously. I'll second guess myself into infinity if I try to choose the best quote 😅 Or order the books into a top 10 (for example). It's easier to filter out my full 5 star reads and pick a quality that stood out in each book. Have a beautiful and peaceful 2025! ❤️
@@libraryunbounded I'm so happy for all your fingers 😁 So true, but you managed the categories so well - I've gotten inspired and finally filled mine as well ☺ And even surprised myself as e.g. my favorite character ended up being Lightsong from Warbreaker that I wouldn't have guessed yesterday but it makes total sense now 😀😀😀 Thank you. ❤
Well, I am driving around in South Florida listening to this and my car AC is not working and it’s 85 degrees and I am sweating my ass off. The coldness of the video is not psychologically affecting me as I thought it would. But you have good taste nonetheless. I read Roadside Picnic this year. Great. I read Piranessi also. It was all right. I wish she turned that into a huge book with footnotes like Jonathan Strange, and that book should have been short and whimsical like this one. Blood Meridian is one of my favorites of all time. I read McCarthy’s Child of God followed by Faulkner’s As I Lay Dying and that was one surreal southern gothic nightmare.
Ah, yeah, that sounds less than pleasant 😅 Now, I suspect you didn't mean it as an advertisement but now I kinda want to do the McCarthy-Faulkner marathon myself... 😂
Ah, no, sadly I can't read in Greek (though it's sounds like a beautiful language and it might be fun to learn it). I just really liked the cover and only noticed it was in Greek when I was proof watching the video. At this point I was already tired, so I decided to go for it anyway. 😁
Oh, I've heard some good things about it and now I kinda want to read it even more. Great idea - I've waited a relatively long time to continue with Abeercrombie after The First Law and now I can't remember why 😅
I'm sorry, Kim, but coriander is what evil tastes like 😂 I've heard somewhere that there's a gene in the human body that determines whether one loves or hates it, so I can forgive you being SO INSANELY WRONG 😂 Happy New Year to you and your lovely family! ❤️
That might be so but one can't ignore circumstances and more than make people love the characters, the author attempts to show what monsters life can make of a person. And I disagree with your conclusion entirely. Yes, McCarthy does postulate that there is ultimate moral good but he doesn't deny redemption to the ones who do bad. Even if when they must face consequences.

Odd Thomas was so good.

The Road, I loved this book and read it based on your recommendation. It only came in second on my best by a slight margin (Blood over Bright Haven )
