Nice back when there was actually room to move around and if you wanted to get your own place you could because it was actually affordable.
I wanna go back. It was a great time in Austin back then.
I’m a ghost of north cross.
Especially the days of Aquafest!!!
I was working at Captain's Oyster Bar at 183 and South Lamar, it was a shrimp boat replica and lots of local famous people came in for the raw oysters, gumbo and the whole fried catfish.
I was 21 back then. Damn good times. I miss the old city of Austin Tx.
Too many people listened to this video.
Aw the good old days....sure miss those days.
0:20 that aged well
It sure was fun while it lasted!
I met my husband-to-be at Boardwalk Beach Club. Loved Austin then…
Take me back to highland mall
0:50 that skyline is EMPTY!
Crazy
That skyline is wonderful, just like it should be.
And it looked so much better than today.
The skyline was still better back then going into the 90s. Frost Bank was built much later which enhanced the skyline.
Now it’s so over crowded!!! And so many houseless people on streets
What happened Austin? :(
Answer: This video worked :(

Did they really show Taco Cabana when mentioning interior Mexican food?
Did y'all ever finish this film?

Who is that at 2:20 on the keyboard? Made me think of Beto and the Fairlanes :)
That was Beto Skiles, of Beto y los Fairlanes. We would watch them every chance we could, back when Austin was a great place to live.

Richard Linklater did a better promo movie a few years later.

Don't forget to take a lovely afternoon ride down I-35 or Mopac. It's a real treat! This city is a shell of what it used to be...unfortunately.
