    So funny that I was imagining Jeri Ellsworth when you actually said her name two minutes later! I LOVED her solution to keeping the surrounding electronics at the conventions where she plays from interfering with her bass’ pickups. Her solution? Trash the typical pickups and install Little piezo inducer discs that she clipped and placed beneath her bass strings! Soo IF you get any EMI issues or interference from nearby arcade pinball machines, maybe you ought to install a piezo inductor array for a secondary pickup option?! For someone who’s outward appearance would
    suggest a grimey and pretty rugged person, you REALLY do have it together. AWESOME!! Oh yeah, NICE ROUTER!!

  • @asdfpoiuyify
    @asdfpoiuyify 4 года назад +5

    Ay, idk if you read enough of the comments to see this - on the issues you’re having w/ G2M recognizing the lower notes, you could convert the input signal an octave up? Digitally this is done by taking the absolute value of each sample, effectively folding the negative parts up. I’m not terribly familiar with the analog equivalent but I know I’ve seen schematics for it before that only require a handful of components. Then while processing the MIDI signal you can shift the pitch back down an octave to get the note that was originally played.

    • @chrishopkins209
      @chrishopkins209 4 года назад +1

      asdfpoiuyify my solution would be use a set of piccolo strings so the bass is pitched an octave up without needing any pitch shifting

    ...the neck seems to be bending a little bit more than it should, judging by the footage ( 0:38 - 4:35 - 6:59 ). Very nice project, though... a lot of synth possibilities... OR you can use it to piss everybody off in a rehearsal, just keep messing with it til everybody leaves...

      It's the fisheye effect like someone above said, if you look closely at 6:59 everything else looks distorted as well.

    should get someone like davie 504 to rip that thing, hearing crazy slap on a synth bass would probs be wickedd haha

    • @jessebondmusic
      @jessebondmusic 4 года назад +8

      slap wouldn't transfer, as the midi converter box just creates note on/off events... so it'd sound the same as normal playing

      @@LOOKMUMNOCOMPUTER Is that because of phase problems between the bass string and the synth wave? What if you had a control on the synth that allowed you to phase-align the two? You get similar problems sometimes when a bass and a kick drum cancel each either out in a studio situation, and end up with a tragic loss of low end. Popping the phase on the bass often brings the boom back. Does this chip give you a way to set the phase at the start of a note?
