Gavin, Great video! Thanks so much, it was REALLY helpful. Uncomplicated background, good sound, well lighted, great close-ups ... Great! One suggestion ... I would at the end, go through close-ups of what the different parts of the press SHOULD look like and function like. I just pulled a new 9000E out of the box and it is NOT functioning correctly. I find the Op Rod is not working properly. Something is restricting its movement so it is not throwing powder at all. Like go over on the down stroke, this should be here ... at the top, this should be here ... this should move freely .... that sort of thing. That would be helpful. But again thanks for this video, it was well done and really helped me a lot.
I noticed that the charge bar didn't return to the correct position after cycling the actuator at the end of the video. Is that a design feature when empty, or is some tuning needed? Looking forward to see this rig in action!
Love your videos however, you do a lot of multi part shows but for me they get lost on youtube search ie. different titles etc.. why don't you use the playlist feature to organize your muti video topics?
I've always liked the MEC presses, but ROI just wouldn't be there for me, even with shooting thousands and thousands of rounds (not when factory 12G is so cheap)
You can actually hear it seat on this press. Believe it or not, I haven't had near as many issues priming shotshell compared to metallic priming. But, I get where you're coming from- feel is good too.
Who can afford to reload shot shells?? 30 plus dollars for a pound of powder, more than 2 bucks a pound for shot, wads and casings. It's cheaper to go to a major chain store and buy shot shells by the case.
