    Sometime pictures are worth a thousand words and this is one. It looks right without the paint this time cause it isn't full of holes. You can tell it is quicker than a long tailed cat in a room full of rocking chairs. All the work and then reassembled to blow it apart again. Over and over till it was right. It shined from the underneath and the money was well spent. All hydraulics ment low vacuum for a brake booster. Little giveaways always backed up with pictures that make it easy to spot a racing truck.

    • @joeschlotthauer840
      @joeschlotthauer840 7 лет назад

      shawnmeyer44
      Motortrend Roadkill series just did one, and they "baited" manufacturers by making a point that it's not available in a kit.
      I love the new drivetrain technology, but I love classic styling. Today, everything looks the same. Best,

    • @chickenfishhybrid44
      @chickenfishhybrid44 7 лет назад

      joe Schlotthauer just did what? A 5.0 swap? Or the crown vic swap? Cus the crown vic suspension swap has been going on for a long time. I'm sure there's a kit or all the parts are available. As far as the 5.0 swap I'm sure someone makes motor mounts and a trans crossmember. If not, those aren't that hard to do. As far as an all inclusive kit with wiring and everything specific for a 5.0 in a f100, maybe not. But I'm sure standalone harnesses are already available. The 5.0 engines themselves are still pretty costly, when the prices come down in sure there will be a big increase in parts. Using an f150 5.0 I think can save some money

    • @joeschlotthauer840
      @joeschlotthauer840 7 лет назад +3

      shawnmeyer44
      Yeah, it was the Crown Vic swap, I'm guessing that you seen it, I'm in my "golden years" now and I'd just like to see an all inclusive kit. I breathe this stuff. Best Again,

    • @hackster100
      @hackster100 7 лет назад

      I have not seen anyone that builds motor mounts for the Coyote to go into the crown vic. There are so many variables in where the builder wants to place the engine in the engine bay. None of it is hard, but it does take some skill to be able to get the stuff to all fit in there. There is a big difference in power and performance between the 5.0 in the truck and the 5.0 in the mustang. This is a stand alone harness that I used from Ford Performance. Works flawless.

    awesome job i liked the photo shots i would have liked to see this thing running & see it's handling at the track. i bet it handles like a "stang"...I am an LSx guy but I have a 2000 F-350 dually diesel that I love for my daily. I saw another video where they go to the trouble of puttin' in the work only to scrap the EFI for dually carbs. that ouch hurts if anything i'd have dropped my favorite engine in the world. the Ford 460 bored & stroked w/a big cam. them engines are beast & would be better than a 4.8/5.0 carbed imo. with that said, i like that they went EFI. if i were to daily it we are in the deep humid south i'd have to have an A/C. my current proj. is a (square)1993 S-10 w/a 2001 5.7 LS1/LS6 & T-56 out of my Trans Am. gonna upgrade the rear to a ford 8.8 explorer and a BTR stage 3 cam once it is drivable. so im not a "brand only" type of guy. I believe in what is best for whatever i plan to use as a driver or racer. thx for the video. i am d/l'n it to burn to DVD for my old Ford 460 CI mentor

    Don't mean to be a pain,but,I'm on my third VOLVO V70 turbo build,and I'm crAsy about a secondary battery to install extractor fans with side vents(on demand)Extra lights,fog lights,because you have an empty engine bay,and use "dyna-mat'to the max,for great cab insulation,I mean,use the fact,that you have a bare car to install a max of'goodies',bushings,to have the best riding feeling.......And box that filter with a secondary AC........

    I love this video amazing job may I ask how much this cost in total I am about to swap a 5.0 to my 74 f150 but would like to have an idea how much this cost Mostly just the engine,trans,CPU, basically the engine bay. Ain’t planning on lowering just leveling so mine would be a little simpler. But if you don’t mind I would greatly appreciate it if you told me the total engine components cost.

    Wonder how that chassis would compare to full Crown Vic frame swap?

    • @hackster100
      @hackster100 7 лет назад +3

      The full frame swap requires a lot more work that doesnt really gain anything not to mention the rear suspension on the crown vic is less than ideal for any kind of real performance and the rearend is too wide in my opinion for these trucks. The frame is pretty damn stiff on this truck, it was amazing how much stiffer after I did all the plating on the frame.
