- Munroethuruth is famous for canal tourism in Kollam district which is geographically very special. It is 15 km from Kollam and 80 km from Thiruvananthapuram. The nearest railway station is Munrothuruth. Mandroethuruth is a nature friendly island. Here, which is an ecologically sensitive area, nature and man live in harmony with each other. Mangrove-covered arches are unique to Munroe Island. The name of the island is in memory of Colonel Munro who was the Diwan of Travancore. This is the place for food lovers.
This Island, which is very different in topography, has been noticed for a long time during train journeys, near Kollam Station, but it was only now that I was able to visit the place. A day on this island away from the hustle and bustle of the city with family was a special experience. To the beautiful views of the island.
