@@waifuracer6516 in most cases it's not so much that they don't want to, they can't afford it, and those who can afford would rather spend less tien getting something fresh and ready to go rather than to wait till the old machine is fixed. And repair prices are also to be considered.

Great work on the excavator. It is simply amazing the amount of high quality expensive machines and vehicles that people just discard and dispose of. This video interested me because it is exactly what I have personally been doing for decades by obtaining free or very cheap vehicles of all shapes and sizes and resurrecting them back into functional, useful machines. It gives me an amazing sense of accomplishment and satisfaction to bring back to life something that very few people could or would be able to do. Keep up the great work my friend!

@@ChuckHickl not yet, but i have certainly been considering starting a youtube channel to show some of things i have obtained for free and then refurbished. Everything from a horribly corroded handgun found at the bottom of a lake to a large dump truck that had not been started in 38 years. Recently was given a huge 40 foot motorhome that had not ran in 15 years and had sat for so long that it had sunk 3 feet deep into the ground, got it operational and drove it 20 miles to my home. These kinds of things seem to never end!

@@timrussell1559 Dude, anyone here would love to see that stuff! Go for it, we all would love the variation of functional restorations. What I like about these channels is that it doesn't have to be perfect. Just get that Old Iron running again. Check out MartyT's channel. He started small but provided great content. How great to have a side gig making a little cash doing the stuff you love. I'm subbing you now and look forward to the first video. Keep it simple at first, all of us ironheads love this stuff.

A great mechanic, operator and a man who preserves everything. Not relying on something new.Except some spareparts you need to change it new.Only tracklinks, panels, hydra hoses and if you can afford some fibre glass for the window panels. Also you can build your own cover panels for the wire housing and fuse box.Including new lights for night working (if you need to install it).thats all my suggestion.

A man and his sheep brings a different vision than a man and his dog though.

So are most farm animals really despite people thinking of them as "stupid". pigs are a lot like dogs when raised by people too, probably even smarter. Even cows can be playful/curious like dogs, just dont have the same mobility

Kudos! Very admirable work from restoration to operation. Nothing more satisfying than to see skills and know-how put to good use, plus getting an otherwise valuable piece of equipment for next to nothing.
