Patriot's Point / Vietnam Experience Walk-Through

  • NOTE #1: This is NOT an ASMR video.
    NOTE #2: See Note #1
Note #3: This isn't my typical walk-through, but my younger son and I had an opportunity to stay overnight on the USS Yorktown this weekend, and while we were there, I made this video in their Vietnam experience. It has loud noises and references the Vietnam conflict, so if that might bother you, or you're not interested, it's OK not to watch this. 👍
I have quite a few subscribers who are either active duty in the military or retired, and I thought they might like to see this.
We were out of town from Friday afternoon until about 6:00pm Sunday evening. Over the weekend, I uploaded two videos that I made ahead of time so you'd have new stuff to watch over the weekend if you were so inclined.

This is a neat video. I like it when you sometimes show videos thst aren't standard asmr. And the fact that you get stay.overnight is cool.

That place is really cool. It's almost like a small replica of how it was in the Vietnam War. You're very smart because you knew the names of many of the tanks, artillery and helicopters. Your dad was very brave to serve because he was involved in combat even though he wasn't supposed to have been.

Mary you are an incredible woman and amazing mother. Not only are you a successful RUclipsr, you're a single mother, and work so hard for us your viewers and, as everyone can see, for your sons. I can go on but I love your videos Mary! Keep it up, Mama.

This looks so neat!! We went to the USS Alabama Battleship Park in October and it was incredibly interesting!! I WISH we had been able to stay and do the overnight experience!! Thank you for being versatile with your videos and being considerate of all the different cultures and backgrounds of your viewers!

(Pamela Goldsmith)………….I admire the way Americans appreciate their history and service of their military men and women. I am Canadian and my father-in-law was a Wing Commander and a high ranking officer. He also was stationed for 3 years in Montana as a Lt. Col. He served in WW2 and Korea. My husband and I have the highest respect for him and all who serve. We owe our freedom to the brave men and women who sacrifice so much. Sadly, many with their lives. To all who serve around the world from both the past to the present, THANK-YOU!!

That first helicopter was the AH-1 Cobra attack helicopter. It was used for close air support by both the Army and Marines during the war. The bigger choppers like the CH-46 Sea Knight and UH-1 Huey helicopters were used for troop transport and medical evacuation

I really enjoyed this Mary! It’s too bad your dad wasn’t with you to reminisce- it would have been fascinating to hear his perspective.

With that being said, the Cobra is actually a slimmed down, weaponized version of the Huey. The chain gun under the nose I believe shot .30mm rounds and carried Zuni rockets on the wing pylons

If you ever get to Alaska you need to go to Whittier. They are an hour out of Anchorage and the only way in or out by land is the tunnel said to be one of the biggest train or vehicle tunnel in the world. It’s only one lane so only ones that can go in around that time. I think it’s about a mile long. It was built for World War II as the staging to bring troops in and out because of the natural harbor. Plus many people don’t know this but the Japanese invaded the Aleutian Islands. So this was a natural thing. But the Aleutian Islands are actually part of the US so there was World War II fighting scene on American soil.

My dad was in Vietnam in 1966 / 67. He was also in a building battalion and drove those two and a half ton trucks u showed. They called them deuce-and-a-halfs. We have some home video of him there. I thoroughly enjoyed this.

Thank you Mary for the Vietnam video. Your dad was in Vietnam, whereas mine was in World War 2. Just knew from watching you, that you also seem to have, (like me), an affectionate, and respectfulness, towards our country and its men and women in the United States armed forces. Maybe in the future, you can do a video shoot aboard the U.S.S. Lexington. Again, my many thanks to you Mary, - I loved it so!!!👍👍😃
