I like that you mentioned the natural feel of the shimano. What it lacks in top end speed it makes up for in a more subtle matching of pedal inputs.

It’s a shame you overdubbed music on the video. A real missed opportunity to talk about sound levels and clunking.

Gr8 video review! I'm using the Shimano e6100 on the Triumph motorcycle hybrid bike and the cycling feels like a luxurious natural pedal experience. I sure this older motor still has the 3 sensors of torque, wheel speed and cadence

Can you tell which one (Bosch CX Gen4 or Shimano EP800) is quieter in general? It's hard to hear in your video because of the music ...

Bosch has the advantage that you can open the motor once its out of warranty and service it or overhouling having more life time to enjoy it.

The Bosch motor has a more powerful assistance than the Shimano motor. Then there is the EMTB mode which decided the assistance based in your input. It’s a 4 th mode than other Motors don’t offer. The bisch motor is a way more solid motor that the Ep8.

From what I've seen in other videos the Bosch motor also is more energy efficient. Mine is still limited to only 75Nm (or whatever) doesn't have the update, I don't think I need any more power anyway. I also figured if it's limited to 75Nm it probably is less wear on the motor so it'll last longer.

New new ep801 has more torque lower in the cadence and is more efficient than ep800. I've tested both.
The trail mode on the new ep801 also acts the same as emtb on the bosch 👍

The Bosch also has an auto mode that can be added through the diagnostic tool. Ep8 and performance cx are both 85nm.

Bosch is certainly faster, proven in several tests, but don't get me wrong, shimano is also a great motor.

I would avoid Shimano completely, they force you to replace the entire motor instead of a plastic gear worth about 20p. They are already overpriced and then they want the kind of mark up El Chapo would be jealous of to do a basic repair. Shame, they have a good history but this is a huge scam and probably done entirely on purpose. I expect these will be failing in their thousands in a few years after the 2 year warranty, I got one that failed after a few hundred miles!

If your in your warranty they would just replace then. Never had shimano turn down a genuine warranty. There are places you can buy the spares and fit yourself.

I got an shinamo e6100 60NM and i got 8500 km on it no failures at all the problem is that people use a speedchip or something that breaks the gears
