yess, this is precisely what i've been looking for! i saw a cool asset on the blendermarket but wanted to know how to make it myself to save my broke but spending money i dont have. XD
Well, it's a bit hard to answer without seeing your model and nodes. Try to check the number of verticies of the sphere (with lower number of verticies the angles may be a bit sharp, in this case modifier->add modifier->subdivision surface can help) and settings of the wave texture node: "distortion" affects how much the lines are distorted, "detail" - how many small distortions are there on the edges of the lines, "detail scale" - how big are those distortions, "detail rougness" - how smooth are they (0 for rough, 1 for smooth).
Yeah, it works this way (with direct connection to output) since 2022. Node wrangler has been updated, and the viewer node no longer exists in the newer versions, as it was deemed unnecessary. I used Blender 3.2.1 for this video, so it's a bit outdated.
My goodness, so many noise textures and color ramps haha. I love this though. Exactly what I was looking for, thank you! 🫶🏻
nice ice cream shader

I followed the tutorial and everything worked out correctly. 😊
How did you add the viewer node? I enabled the wrangler add-on but when i press shift+ctrl+lmb it just connects to the output. I am using 4.1 ver

So any idea how to add viewer node ?
