Nope! You have way too much torque that the tractor engine produces. He should have added a lot of weight to the front end of the tractor, then MAYBE it might work. Better to pull out the tractor and dig it out than that dumb stunt!
10:08 For those who are wondering, yes these things are supposed to have deadman handles like lawnmowers. The only way this can happen is if someone disabled the deadman switch, or it's a very old unit.
I think it's a common problem with cheaply made railways. If the rails aren't specially stressed, they expand when the weather is hot and causes them to distort.
@@WaterCrane Before they had off road trucks that could be used in logging, they would just drop temporary tracks through the forest and use a "Shay" locomotive (the railroad equivalent of a 4x4) to haul out the lumber.

1:05 That's actually genius. 4:47 That is NOT a fire extinguisher. 1) Fire extinguishers are red. 2) They also have pins you must remove before they can be operated. That's most like a pressure tank and the valve broke.
4:15 The dude could've easily turned off the engine lest it hydrolocks when it starts sucking in water through the intake. Probably just ruined a perfectly good engine because he panicked. But, at least he held onto that fender for dear life.... SMH
The guy welding without a visor.. absolutely stupid, right up there with the guy who moved the car jack out the way to get through during an inspection
We all do that now en then for the attachement points. Because the mask is in the way while checking level, angle, alignment... every second. After that, it's "mask on" of course. Ok, yeah, the guys closing the fire hydrant weren't the ones that failed. Looks like somebody hit it with a car; fire hydrants are meant to break off when cars hit them to prevent damage both to the underground pipes and the cars, both of which are way more valuable than the hydrant itself. They must have figured the valve was okay, and there's a good chance it was. Or maybe they were actually able to tell for sure, no way for us to know. Unfortunately for those guys, there are only two ways to shut off the flow: shut down the entire block... or do what they're doing. 11:54 Okay, so he's arc-welding in contact with his gloves... mehhhh... iffy. _Without eye protection._ At least he's smart enough not to look at it, unlike that guy with the helmet that lacked a face shield. Oh Jesus. The morons with the tractor at 1:25. Chaining logs to the driven wheels of a vehicle IS a viable last ditch way of getting out of a particularly deep area of mud or snow, but in this case, these guys used logs that were WAY too long. They're only supposed to be a few inches beyond the tire at most. The idea is to use them to push the tractor forwards by dragging the tip of the logs in the firmer soil underneath (There's also a paddlewheel effect helping too), the concept isn't to try and pole-vault the tractor back up to the surface level on friggin stilts !!! What they did was stupid, but the "Drivers"* reaction REALLY annoyed the hell out of me. His first thought was "QUICK, RUN AWAY !!!", rather than having the basic reasoning power to think that hitting the clutch, stamping on the brakes hard, stopping the engine, or multiple other things would have been safer for him, saved unneccecery work for everyone, AND prevented essential equipment from being put out of action. RUclips prevents me from using the words I'd need to use to truly describe the shear idioticness and cowardice of that guy. I bet these idiots would also be the first ones to make a fuss when they got told that without the tractor they'd now need to cultivate the land with hand tools ! (* I say "Driver", but as soon as the tractor started doing something unexpected he was just a useless passenger who didn't see it as his responsibility to prevent the situation getting any worse. He's not a "Driver" in any sense of the word I recognise, and if I was his boss, for the safety of everyone around him I wouldn't let him get anywhere near the drivers seat of another vehicle !)

The logs on the tires probably would have worked if they weren't so long.
It does work, they do that all the time. But once you get past 30 degrees, clutch in, its too stuck for that. Or try reverse.
Nope! You have way too much torque that the tractor engine produces. He should have added a lot of weight to the front end of the tractor, then MAYBE it might work. Better to pull out the tractor and dig it out than that dumb stunt!
Simpler just to reverse the tractor out, the engine pushes down on the ground for extra leverage.
