Hey Omar, good stuff. I just saw you in a Turturefest race i was in and noticed the youtube tag. I love watching zwift races and content whether I'm in them or not. I ride and race around the same time every day so hope to see you and catch more of your videos. Good luck.
Hey man, that’s awesome! Thanks for stopping by my YT channel! I am thinking to start posting Zwift racing video’s as well as my main content, as I love to watch them too. Hope to see you around as well!
I'm not racing, and am looking for a nice flat pedal for hard workouts . Which do you recommend ? I have size 11.5-12 feet. I don't need the lightest thing, but something reliable and nice looking and comfortable.
The best flat pedals I have used are the Catalyst pedals (pedalinginnovations.com/). They are pretty long, so provide lots of support for your feet, although beware they are heavy and bulky. Very comfortable though in my opinion.
Otherwise for a more ordinary looking pedal, the Chester Race Face pedals have an excellent reputation, and I like them a lot. www.raceface.com/products/chester-pedal?variant=31913986457682
Hi Omar, thanks for the video! Wow, the trainer costs almost like the bike:) Did you have to use any adapters to put the bike on a trainer or you are using the original thru axle?
neat video! Just curious do you work in the bike industry, as your profession? Also, why are companies like trek moving away from flat bar road bikes, and shifting to gravel bikes , particularly fx sport line?
Thank you! I don't work in the bike industry, although I've gotten job offers to do so before :) I do however have a few friends who work in the industry, so sometimes I get some insider information from them. I think there has been a lot of interest pickup in gravel riding the past couple years, and so the simple answer is that I believe companies are drawing more attention to gravel type setups simply because consumer interest has picked up there. With the FX sport line, it's also something new, and so it gives Trek an ability to rehabilitate the marketing for the FX line which has been mostly the same for a while. However, now that covid is mostly over, I personally feel like I am seeing a bit of a shift away from gravel bikes, and instead, interest is now moving more towards the do-it-all type bike, such as the Trek Domane. Even aero race bikes now like the Cervelo S5 and the Trek Madone are shipping stock with 28mm tires. So I think that is where things are going to move. It's a great question!
Hi bro love from India ❤️.... really love your videoes .... They are super super helpful and informative 🔥🔥🙌🙌 .... I really like a bike ( triban rc 100 ) that I test road a few day ago but I am having a problem which I am explaining in detail so please bear with me ... I am having a very weak breaking leverage from the hoods but I can easily brake from the drops ( cause that's much better position to brake and put direct power on the levers ).... I really can't understand where the problem is cause everything seems to be of good quality but the whole mechanism doesn't feel quite smooth .... I mean the movement ( where the brake lever moves from its original position and just before the pads touching the rim ) , feels like it is not smooth enough and it is jamming somewhere .... And after the brake pads engage then it's even more harder I think it may be the brake pads .... They have a very hard feeling for my preference ( I think ).... I mean after the brake pads touch the rims , it feels like the brake levers just can't be pressed more ( from the hoods ) to produce more power .... as the pads are so much hard .... Specs (if it helps) -> brake lever :- microshift 1×7 speed drop shifter SB-R370 brake caliper - single pivot rim brake Brake wire , pads - non branded Yes , I have slightly smaller hands but I don't think it's a problem with me because I have ridden a similar bike ( triban rc 120 ) which has very similar breaking setup but I can brake nicely from the hoods 🙁 .... Point to be noted :- I have tried several bikes in the store of the same exact model but different sizes , but faced the similar bad breaking performance from all of them so It cant be manufacturing fault .... So please tell me how can I improve the bike's breaking performance on the hoods . Because I am on a very strict budget and have to buy this bike itself cause can't spend more than $400 🙁 ..... Will be waiting for your response ☺️☺️ .... Thank you 💝
Hello again! Thank you so much for the comments! I am glad you get something out of these videos. I remember the Triban we talked about on one of my previous videos. I am totally rooting for you and hope you get it soon! Regarding the breaks, the issue you describe is relatively common on rim break components of this caliber. There may however be some room to tweak the performance. The best thing to do is to tweak the positioning of the break calipers to see if you can obtain a more optimal placement for maximum sensitivity and power. There is a video which goes into detail on how to do this on GCN located here: ruclips.net/video/VO77mbB8w7I/видео.html&ab_channel=GCNTech Feel free to check it out and see if that helps? Ultimately though, the breaks will have limited power and performance. Btw, would love to visit India one day!
@@hikerbikeromar thanks for the quick response buddy .... And pleasure to see that you recognised me 😅 .... Yeah definitely come to India you will love my country 🔥
@@spandanroy2331 Haha thanks man! India is a country very dear to me, since all my best friends and co workers are from there. Let me know if you have success with the breaks!
Omar!! Keep those videos coming!! Thank you for the content and also great home setup!
Thank you so much!!
Hahaha "I love them to death they're awesome. Except, THEYKEEPCHEWINGMYCABINETS!"

I keep my "clipless" shoes on pedals, hanging all the time. Have a try that.
Good idea!!

Nope, no adapters at all, just used the original thru axle the bike shipped with! And yeah haha it is definitely expensive!
