I gotta admit, I got chills from the shot of Sonic reaching out as if he was really worried and only could say "Infinite..." when he saw him fly away out of nowhere. It shows that Sonic, too, can have empathy for a villain.. Sonic has always been a kind soul, and I honestly believe that he was worried in that scene during the game too.
*This* is the part of Infinite everyone has been meaning to see, especially those who haven't scratched the surface. Most people just think he's some sort of egotistical edgelord who got butthurt when Shadow mocked him. There really is more to him than the game let on. On top of that, I love how one of the Forces soundtracks is used in this. It's too perfect.
Jay Tiller Agreed. People have no idea what it's like for him. I wouldn't be able to understand it wholly either, his problems are beyond my own. I mean really, first his entire squad was killed. Second, he tried to confront Shadow but was only beaten to crap. Third, Shadow let him LIVE, which is the biggest disgrace for a mercenary -- all of this, in ONE night. Jesus, if I had to go through something similar, I don't think I'd even get out of the closet. And imagine how he probably is now after Forces. Doctor: Well, if you don't know, could you maybe contact his family? we're trying to match some of the injured soldiers from the war with there families, if you could take care of his it would a big help. He began to knock on the door repeatedly as he had revived an alarming call about someone being hurt. He didn't know who it was but he hoped that it wasn't Tails, knuckles or Amy. The door opened revealing the familiar face of Gadget. Sonic: what happened? who got hurt? Gadget: Just look you'll understand Sonic looked over Gadget's shoulder, his eyes widen when he recognized the Jackal on the bed. Sonic: Sweet chaos, it is really him? Gadget: yeah Sonic: What happened? Gadget: I didn't ask, I was too focused on getting him here alive. Sonic: it's that bad huh? Sonic: what do you mean? Gadget: You should have seen him in that ally, he didn't look anything like what we saw. He seemed broken and not just physically. He was ready to give up, begging me to let him die. It wasn't easy to watch. should I have done what he said and just left him? Sonic: Well...I think you did the right thing by saving him but that's your opinion on weather you did the right thing or not, and if he hates you for saving him that's up to him. Don't second guess yourself. Gadget: yeah I guess that's true. For the next few days Gadget would be visiting the hospital regularly. He didn't want to think about what Infinite might do if he woke up alone. Sonic at first would join him, but after a while he needed to return to the resistance; even though the war was over they still needed him. However he was a little nervous about leaving Gadget alone with Infinite. Gadget understood that and promised that if anything happened, to him or Infinite, he would contact Sonic imminently. Due to the circumstances they decided to keep Gadget's discovery under wraps; they didn't know how the others would react to Gadget saving Infinite. It had been a week since Gadget had found him and there was still no difference. Every time he walked into the recovery room it was the same. Infinite would be lying in the bed perfectly still; if it wasn't for steady beeping of the machine next to him and the slight movement of his chest as he breathed he would look dead. Gadget stood next to the bed. Gadget: What happened to you? The door behind him groaned as it slowly opened, letting in a young vixen nurse. Nurse: No change uh? Gadget: No. I'm starting to think he's not going to wake up. Nurse: Don't say that. His vitals are stable and he has good brain activity. He's got a chance. He just might need more time. Gadget: Yeah, you're probably right. Nurse: *leaves* Infinite's mind slowly came too. His eyes were snapped shut, so he awoke to a void of black and then he felt an immense pain. Most of it was coming from his chest, but his entire body was still aching. After a few moments of living in this black void of torment, he managed let out a heavy groan. Gadget quickly turned back to Infinite. Noticing that the jackal was now wincing, Gadget quickly and quietly sent a message to Sonic on his com. Gadget: Hey? Are you alright? Gadget didn't dare say the jackal's name in case some one was listening. His eyes slowly opened. He was greeted with the concerned face of a familiar looking red wolf. Gadget: How do you feel? Infinite: You?! *jerked up suddenly* A-ah! Gadget: Easy, you're wounds are still healing. Infinite: *groan* Where the heck am I? Gadget: A refugee hospital. Infinite: Why not the resistance's prison? Gadget: Because the nearest resistance's medical center was to far away with how severe your injuries were. You would have died before we even got there. Infinite: Why did you save me? To see me rot in a cell? You should have just left me there Gadget: Maybe I should have, but if I had I wouldn't be able to live with myself. Infinite: Why? Gadget quickly turned around and answered it, letting in the blue and orange figures of Sonic the Hedgehog and tails the fox inside. Sonic's eyes imminently when to Infinite. Sonic looked at the all the bandages wrapping his body, and the defeated look on his face. He couldn't help but feel sorry for Infinite. He slowly and cautiously walked toward the bed, the Jackal not even facing him. Sonic: How are you feeling? Infinite: How long until you move me to your prison block? Sonic: What? Infinite: after what I have done don't I deserve punishment? Sonic: I'm not sure. I think you been punished enough as it is. Infinite was extremely confused. How could sonic think that? After all he had done to him, to his friends. Infinite: think what you want Tails: Listen we got some Questions for you, do you mind? Infinite remained silent Gadget: what happened to you? After the battle; I thought you were killed. Infinite: I retreated to the base and managed to stabilize myself, but when the Doctor returned he wanted his phantom ruby back. Sonic: And? Infinite isn't the only one who has a kill count, shadow also has some blood on his hands as well. Not to mention its was the Phantom ruby's fault for implanting and amplifing all of that pain, sorrow and anger within him.
I really wish we got to know more about Infinite's squad, are they really dead? If so, why'd Shadow kill them? Did Shadow even kill them or something else, that doesn't sound like Shadow to me, he wouldn't do that without reason. Did Infinite have a close relationship with his members, it seemed so.

I'm pretty sure Shadow murdered his squad. I mean, if they were still alive, they would help Infinite get his revenge. While it is unconfirmed whether or not Infinite referred his team as his friends, he never really treated them like dirt either. Forces' webcomic Rise of Infinite showed his relationship to his members; he didn't yell up at their face nor was he too gracious to them. Infinite simply captained them like a well-respected leader.
1:01 I love how this comic pretends Sonic was trying to be nice to Infinite, when all he did was calling him "Loser" or "Masked clown" who has no friends.
Honestly , I think infinite is pretty cool! His battle may have been annoying but it was fun! I enjoyed the game alot , the fact that you could make a character , the voice acting , story, graphics. It was all great! Infinite has definitely made it into my villains that are pretty cool list .

Hey I’m doing the same thing only in my story my custom character is blind. I know that’s not something that can be established in the game, so I’m writing a story where my custom character, who’s a girl, was blind from the very beginning but was still able to help Sonic and Co. defeat Eggman; then on her way home, she finds an injured Infinite and while she nurses him back to health, they bond and begin to learn more about each other. In my story, Infinite becomes sympathetic towards my custom character when she tells him of how she was separated from her parents at a young age and had to learn to adjust to living without someone helping her with her blindness problem that she’s had since she was born; she tells him of how she trained herself to rely only on her senses of hearing and smelling to get back and that’s the reason she was even able to fight back against him, to which Infinite says he’s impressed and even admires how she turned such a weakness as a lack of eyesight into a strength. Over the course of my story, Infinite begins to learn what it’s like to have a true friend and my custom character re-experiences what’s it like to have someone there for you since she was always alone, even if she befriended Sonic and Co. she still felt the dull ache of loneliness in her heart. I’m calling it “A New Horizon”, and I’ll work on it once I’m finished with my other projects.

Infinite's eyes look much more terrifying than Sonic exe, and his teeth are stronger than Cartoon Cat's teeth, 1000,000 times as strong, and its shape and the sounds it makes make you cry over him and at the same time you relax psychologically. 1:28

If Infinite the Jackal travel back in time and kill Shadow the Ultimate Lifeform before the events of Sonic Heroes, none of this would have ever happened. Meaning: Team Dark, Shadow the Hedgehog (video game), Sonic 2006, and more Shadow's actions will never exist at all. Shadow killed the Jackal Squad, and turned Infinite into a monster on purpose. And Infinite wants his family (Jackal Squad) back immediately.

This is extremely emotional and I feel bad for infinete and let me tell you the truth I really like sonic forces and I think I.......i like infinete because jackals are my favorite animals and -he is a villain but I like this character in the game but don't get me wrong on the avatars their cool too.
First Infinite the Jackal hated everyone in the beginning of Sonic Forces. And now everyone started to hate and blame Infinite for everything he caused.
We need to have a sonic story where you can choose your path. Hero. Neutral. Bad guy. Something like shadow the hedgehog but with your custom where he’s finding his way in life. This game need to play like an adventure game and there would be a lot of playable characters

It was really unfair.... A lot of fans thought "Infinite" was supposed to be Tails from an alternate universe/timeline with a dark and tragic past. But it turned out to be Zero the Jackal Squad leader (the Ultimate Mercenary) instead for some reason.
Without the Phantom Ruby, his sword, his mask, his Jackal Squad, and everything.... there's nothing he can do anymore. Infinite the Jackal is still weak, powerless, and useless once again.
Infinite's chest was bleeding... If my hypothesis is correct it's because the part of the phantom ruby in his chest had been removed by Eggman. Though Eggman is no surgeon so he probably removed it in a way that would harm Infinite, causing his chest to bleed badly. Poor Infinite.....

Infinite would be lying in the bed perfectly still; if it wasn't for steady beeping of the machine next to him and the slight movement of his chest as he breathed he would look dead.
Gadget stood next to the bed.
Gadget: What happened to you?
The door behind him groaned as it slowly opened, letting in a young vixen nurse.
Nurse: No change uh?
Gadget: No. I'm starting to think he's not going to wake up.
Nurse: Don't say that. His vitals are stable and he has good brain activity. He's got a chance. He just might need more time.
Gadget: Yeah, you're probably right.
Nurse: *leaves*
Infinite's mind slowly came too. His eyes were snapped shut, so he awoke to a void of black and then he felt an immense pain. Most of it was coming from his chest, but his entire body was still aching. After a few moments of living in this black void of torment, he managed let out a heavy groan.
Gadget quickly turned back to Infinite. Noticing that the jackal was now wincing, Gadget quickly and quietly sent a message to Sonic on his com.
Gadget: Hey? Are you alright?
Gadget didn't dare say the jackal's name in case some one was listening.
His eyes slowly opened. He was greeted with the concerned face of a familiar looking red wolf.
Gadget: How do you feel?
Infinite: You?! *jerked up suddenly* A-ah!
Gadget: Easy, you're wounds are still healing.
Infinite: *groan* Where the heck am I?
Gadget: A refugee hospital.
Infinite: Why not the resistance's prison?
Gadget: Because the nearest resistance's medical center was to far away with how severe your injuries were. You would have died before we even got there.
Infinite: Why did you save me? To see me rot in a cell? You should have just left me there
Gadget: Maybe I should have, but if I had I wouldn't be able to live with myself.
Infinite: Why? I nearly ruined the planet, surly I deserve it
Gadget: Because leaving you there wouldn't have been any different than killing you myself.
Infinite remained silent. He couldn't believe that a complete stranger, that he had fought against in the war, would feel bad if he had let him die.
Suddenly there was a rapid knocking at the door. Gadget quickly turned around and answered it, letting in the blue and orange figures of Sonic the Hedgehog and tails the fox inside.
Sonic's eyes imminently when to Infinite. Sonic looked at the all the bandages wrapping his body, and the defeated look on his face. He couldn't help but feel sorry for Infinite. He slowly and cautiously walked toward the bed, the Jackal not even facing him.
Sonic: How are you feeling?
Infinite: How long until you move me to your prison block?
Sonic: What?
Infinite: after what I have done don't I deserve punishment?
Sonic: I'm not sure. I think you been punished enough as it is.
Infinite was extremely confused. How could sonic think that? After all he had done to him, to his friends.
Infinite: think what you want
Tails: Listen we got some Questions for you, do you mind?
Infinite remained silent
Gadget: what happened to you? After the battle; I thought you were killed.
Infinite: I retreated to the base and managed to stabilize myself, but when the Doctor returned he wanted his phantom ruby back.
Sonic: And?
Infinite: Let's just say that the Doctor wasn't very gentle with the extraction
Everyone in the room tensed trying not to imagine what Eggman did to Infinite.
Sonic: listen Infinite...
Infinite?: Please don't call me that, I
Tails: WAIT A MINUTE!

Tails: He's right, even if he doesn't have the phantom ruby anymore he could still be dangerous.
Gadget: Sonic, Tails I'll be fine.
Sonic: Gadget he's...
Gadget: Not going anywhere in his condition. Besides if he does try anything *pulls out his communicator* you're just one click away remember. You two need to get back to the resistance and start looking for Eggman.
Sonic: if you sure...
Gadget: *nods*
Sonic and Tails: *leave*
Gadget turned back toward Infinite. He was still as stone.
Infinite?: Sorry if you got stuck with me.
Gadget: It's not as bad as you make it sound. How do you feel, Infinite?
Infinite?: please don't call me that...
Gadget: kay, then what should I call you?
Infinite?:…
Gadget looked down at the handcuff that linked Infinite's wrist to the rail of bed. They were placed on about a week ago just in case if he woke up violently. Gadget moved closer and begins to removes the cuffs.
Infinite?: *Stiffly turned around* what are you doing?
Gadget: you don't need these.
Infinite?: How can you trust that I would escape or lass out at you?
Gadget: Just a hunch. *finishes removing the cuffs*
infinite?: *cough cough* GAH! *grips his chest and continues to cough*
Gadget: easy...
Infinite's eyes shut as he shakily breathed.
After a few moments Gadget thought that he fell back asleep, and began to leave.
???: Zero...
Gadget quickly turned around, and looked over at Infinite.
Zero: my name is Zero
and the jackal, Zero, drifted off to sleep.
Gadget: Infinite, I'm not going to leave you here to die, I'll get you to the hospital real quick.
Zero: Forget it about I just want to die, who cares about me anymore.
Gadget: THAT'S NOT TRUE!!! *sigh* Look, you may have destroyed lives, and Families... but I can tell that you're just as broken as the world is right now, I know cuz I see the same pain I experienced everyday in your eyes, I'm not going to let someone that knows that pain just fade away from my life, I can't be alone anymore! And I can tell neither can you! Please, Infinite, let me help you. After I heal you... you can hate me all you want... and push me aside.... but right now your safety is all that matters to me.
Zero: *shocked* I.... But.... You.... *sigh* I'm a lost cause... But if you insist on tending to the wounds of someone who already considers them self a corpse, have at it....

I really wish we got to know more about Infinite's squad, are they really dead? If so, why'd Shadow kill them? Did Shadow even kill them or something else, that doesn't sound like Shadow to me, he wouldn't do that without reason. Did Infinite have a close relationship with his members, it seemed so.

I'm pretty sure Shadow murdered his squad. I mean, if they were still alive, they would help Infinite get his revenge.
While it is unconfirmed whether or not Infinite referred his team as his friends, he never really treated them like dirt either. Forces' webcomic Rise of Infinite showed his relationship to his members; he didn't yell up at their face nor was he too gracious to them. Infinite simply captained them like a well-respected leader.

Honestly , I think infinite is pretty cool! His battle may have been annoying but it was fun! I enjoyed the game alot , the fact that you could make a character , the voice acting , story, graphics. It was all great! Infinite has definitely made it into my villains that are pretty cool list .

Hey I’m doing the same thing only in my story my custom character is blind. I know that’s not something that can be established in the game, so I’m writing a story where my custom character, who’s a girl, was blind from the very beginning but was still able to help Sonic and Co. defeat Eggman; then on her way home, she finds an injured Infinite and while she nurses him back to health, they bond and begin to learn more about each other. In my story, Infinite becomes sympathetic towards my custom character when she tells him of how she was separated from her parents at a young age and had to learn to adjust to living without someone helping her with her blindness problem that she’s had since she was born; she tells him of how she trained herself to rely only on her senses of hearing and smelling to get back and that’s the reason she was even able to fight back against him, to which Infinite says he’s impressed and even admires how she turned such a weakness as a lack of eyesight into a strength. Over the course of my story, Infinite begins to learn what it’s like to have a true friend and my custom character re-experiences what’s it like to have someone there for you since she was always alone, even if she befriended Sonic and Co. she still felt the dull ache of loneliness in her heart. I’m calling it “A New Horizon”, and I’ll work on it once I’m finished with my other projects.

If Infinite the Jackal travel back in time and kill Shadow the Ultimate Lifeform before the events of Sonic Heroes, none of this would have ever happened.
Meaning: Team Dark, Shadow the Hedgehog (video game), Sonic 2006, and more Shadow's actions will never exist at all.
Shadow killed the Jackal Squad, and turned Infinite into a monster on purpose. And Infinite wants his family (Jackal Squad) back immediately.

Infinite's chest was bleeding... If my hypothesis is correct it's because the part of the phantom ruby in his chest had been removed by Eggman. Though Eggman is no surgeon so he probably removed it in a way that would harm Infinite, causing his chest to bleed badly.
