The original, original Gladiator trailer didn’t even have its own music. It recycled the Conan the Barbarian soundtrack. Also this trailer gives a ton away. Feels like you can follow the whole story from this trailer. Otherwise it does look good and like they really spent their enormous budget onscreen.
I didn't know that but at least they stuck with what worked. This trailer definitely feels like they put the whole movie on screen. They should have at least waited for the rhino reveal until the film.
Because it feels like some American commercial video. Like usual holywood shit on European culture. Also Maximus best friend in the Colosseum was black, people loved him to.. because he didnt talk like an American cheeseburger.

This movie isn't the only one that has a problem with the trailer having a rap song. Another one I know that has a song that doesn't fit the trailer is the one to Venom 3. I mean, could they at least find a song that fits into the category of alternative rock for the next trailer if Sony wants to keep movie goers engaged?
I think they thought they were being clever with both trailers and were putting in popular music that people would connect to, not realizing it doesn't fit the time period or the emotions they were trying to convey. I think Venom in general has gotten too wacky and has become a meme of itself.

AWWW FK YEEE DIGIMON CAMEO. God Leon's Jay Z impression killed me xD I just view this film as a period piece back in time sequel to Training Day until I'm convinced otherwise.
I feel that there's just a bit too much going on in this trailer. More like an standard action flick with CGI and less of an epic drama. And the main actor looks a bit... boring. At least compared to Russell Crowe.
He most definietly is a down grade from Russell Crowe but I don't fault him for that because I'm not sure who you could get that could compare. I agree the trailer seems more like an action film than an epic drama. I feel like they left out the heart and soul of the first one and just resorted to cool CGI
I don’t think most people care about Denzel or his skin color. When people get upset about that sort of thing it’s when they replace white characters, with someone of color. When they do it to pander or be woke, that’s when it upsets people. Imagine remaking the Black Panther with a white cast, or Roots with a white Kunte Kente. I plan on seeing this in theaters.

@@holdmydualshock By "need" different people mean different things. G1 made enough money for G2 to be inevitable. On the other hand, the movie didn't set itself up for a sequel and it would be better if it didn't even try to connect to the first movie.
Sadly with that budget, yeah. Now I will be pleasantly shocked if somehow the good will and love of the first one allows this one to make a billion dollars but I really don't think it's possible with the reception its getting on the internet - Katie

I was in the theater when the teaser for the first Gladiator came out...that one opened with Anvil of Crom from Conan. Now that was a teaser!
