Miss Uren is an unfortunate name for a teacher
As a teaching assistant and a 1:1 with a child who has ADHD, I feel awful for that boy. Personally I feel his form teacher could’ve handled the situation a lot better. Putting stress onto him is going to make him worse. He knows he’s doing wrong, and it’s okay for him to be reminded, but not to be shouted at and humiliated.
X x think you are forgetting that teachers aren’t therapists... they make mistakes too. They may not always say the right things, but people expect teachers to be perfect...they are human too. Also, the boy might not even have ADHD.. the teachers were only correcting/disciplining him on his behaviour. Is that so wrong?? Can people really not handle a bit of discipline nowadays?! Even if he had ADHD, he would still need to be corrected when his behaviour is not acceptable.. how else do you expect someone to learn from their mistakes if you never say anything? People are far too sugarcoated nowadays. I agree the teachers could of handled the situation a bit better, but like I said they aren’t perfect, we are ALL capable of becoming a better version of ourselves and should always be open to improving ourselves and our behaviour. Therefore even IF he has adhd, he can still TRY and learn to improve himself. Fed up with people always palming it off with the excuse “oh it’s because of a mental problem.”
@@rebeccaeverett8957 ye we know that but would u like being shouted at when u think you've done nothing wrong
@@rebeccaeverett8957 as a teen that has adhd ur comment really ticks me off. we CAN NOT help it and are always trying but our teachers dont realise it. the way that teacher handled things was awful and if i was that boy i would've stormed off to go kick a wall. @X x is totally right about how putting stress on us makes us worse. i also have dyslexia and dyspraxia so the level of understanding amongst the teachers at my school is at an all time low. yes everyone makes mistakes but it could've been handled differently and the boy could get support.
@@mollydreaverstimpson4136 urgh here we go... 🤦🏼♀️ firstly, I completely understand there are disorders and medical problems that cannot be helped, like Tourette’s/tics or things like intermittent explosive disorder IED. Some things are involuntary and can’t be helped, and I completely understand ADHD is horrible and really difficult to deal with, but it CAN be helped. While there is no cure, you can definitely reduce the problems it can cause. Literally just type into google “can you help adhd.” And boom, you get your answer. Can’t stand people who always gotta complain and always acting like something is impossible. Like, “oh they can’t help it.” “Can’t this” “can’t that.” - it kind of becomes a way of justifying and excusing it, rather than being accountable. People will always find a way so passing the blame because that way,it’s easier. It’s easier to pass blame and say you “can’t” while doing nothing about it. Please don’t get me wrong, adhd is difficult and can be hard, but with medication and lots of work on ways to help their behaviour, their problems can reduce. You also say how the “teacher handled it awful.” And once again...I will say it again, the teachers are not trained therapists. You cannot expect them to get it right all the time. They aren’t trained in mental health. They are there to teach. They are teachers. Also like I said, even people with behavioural issues or who go to behavioural schools, they still get discipline and corrected when they have done something wrong.
@@casuallycasual7374 heya, this was 2 months ago so I am not really that interested in it now, however to answer you question, no I don’t want to delete my comments, it was to literally put my opinion across and I wanted to be heard, so yeah you could say I was trying to prove a point, but does that have to be a bad thing? I just wanted to say something on my mind just sharing my opinion/views. And yes I may have been stating the obvious, but not everyone understands the obvious. People genuinely think teachers should have all this knowledge on mental health- when in reality that’s not actually their job!
To answer your second point, I feel like you have kinda twisted what I meant or misunderstood me. I never said that it “doesn’t entirely mean they CANT visit a real therapist.” I never said that, in fact,I would encourage them to actually GO to a therapist. Also the rest of the points you made, I literally agreed with because that was pretty much my point anyway! Of course you can still visit a therapist and yes teachers aren’t there to give you therapy. That was literally my whole point I have been making through this entire thing haha 😂

What is shouting going to achieve ? And when he’s upset what’s telling him to stop gonna do ?
He was seen walking into school on time but somehow came late, that would be annoying. Please stop acting like you wouldn't have done that, shouting is a way of teaching for some.
egg lol 14 not when the kid has adhd or is part of the spectrum
@@hellloegg8873 even if I think shouting will help all the kids taking away from it is that his teacher is angry at him and now making a show of him in the hallway as other teachers and students pass
Far too many people in these comments can’t handle a bit of discipline anymore 😂😂 a lot of people seem to be forgetting that it’s important to correct them when they are doing something wrong, otherwise they are gonna grow up thinking they can do whatever they want and act entitled. Telling someone to “stop” is important because it makes them realise their behaviour isn’t acceptable. People need to learn and improve on themselves in order to grow. Also she didn’t even really “shout.” 😂

If your teacher is called miss urine she is just asking for trouble
I used to be really naughty at school because I found it really funny and I couldn’t actually control it. If I tried to be good, I just can’t, I would have just been naughty. Mainly it depended on the subject or the type of teacher or just wanting to be funny and couldn’t control it. It was just a habit for me.
same , i have ADHD so i cant control it either, its really hard for me to listen to the teacher when im always fidgeting, it makes my teachers upset because they know that i can be nice and that but my ADHD just gets in the way all the time, when someone tells me off i just explode.
I am not sure if I have ADD. There is a possibility I could. However a chance I couldn’t as I am aware of my actions.

"Miss do you think I can sing like Louis Armstrong?"
Why is she yelling?!?
Why not
It just shocked me coming from a culture where we don’t yell at children. Unless they’re about to cross the street and get hit by a car or something.
@The Crusader into not doing it again
She raised her voice because she was annoyed he wasn’t on time, when she had already seen him walking earlier. Are teachers not allowed to get angry? Are teachers not allowed to discipline and correct someone’s behaviour? Kids need to learn and understand when they have done something wrong, so they can improve for next time. And like we see in the video, the teacher was nice to him after that. I don’t think many of you even know what discipline is!
