Snyderverse has been over since Hamada announced his "new direction" in January 2018. ZSJL released in 2021 to replace that Josstice crap. But Gunn's arrival on the scene did not kill the Snyderverse. It killed the Hamadaverse and this zombie of a DCEU.
This movie is incredible. I've seen it multiple times, just actually watched it with a friend yesterday. If WB would have just let Zack Snyder release Batman V Superman (Ultimate Edition) and this version of Justice League, they wouldn't have had the issues that they have had. They could have easily turned his vision into cannon and "righted the ship" with the universe. By the way, Aquaman and the Lost Kingdom is due to be released Dec 20, 2023. So it's coming up. The scene with Deathstroke was supposed to be the original tease to Ben Affleck's solo Batman film. But he was going through a breakup and received tons of pressure from the studio to quit. So much so that he started drinking a lot and almost committed suicide. The studio has been just as disrespectful to Henry Cavill and Zack Snyder. Cavill was asked to come back and reprise his role as Superman starting in a Black Adam post credit scene only to punch him in the gut with were just kidding and fire him all over again. The studio keeps hating on Zack and refuses to release his cut to theaters and absolutely will not let Zack finish his Justice League trilogy despite EVERYONE wanting to see the rest of the arc with Darkseid and this Anti-Life equation that makes Darkseid claim all of existence shall be mine! We only got introduced to Darkseid in this 4-hour Justice League film. Now James Gunn wants to reinvent his new version of Superman with younger actors when a lot of us fans feel cheated out of the Snyderverse that Zack created. -OG

According to Kevin smith, in one of Ben’s houses there was a fake book case, press a button and that shifted to the side to reveal two poles one saying “Bruce” and the other “Dick” the poles went nowhere, it was purely decorative. He was also a huge fan of Daredevil, he gave up his acting fee for jersey girl if Kevin would delay filming until he was finished with daredevil. Again according to Kevin smith. When he does a comic book movie, it tends to get terrible reception to the point that they don’t do sequels or drastically alter the tone in an effort to course correct. The fan base they did generate, in numbers and dedication must have satisfied any worries they had. I think Zack’s movies will age better than marvel not in a small part because of their pop culture references and comedic tone. Comedy ages faster. After some years people will watch it without the “vs MCU” nonsense and give it a fair shake. Watch it for what it is without comparing it MCU.

Flash was faster than Superman, since he never got hit by him and was trying to avoid him without hurting him. But still, Superman is pretty fast. The death Aquaman and Wonder Woman were talking about ended up being Silas Stone's. Martian Manhunter is very close to Superman with his strength and flying, but he also has telekinesis, can get through solid matter as a ghost and as we saw, change his physical appearence. His weakness is fire. And yeah, probably since MoS he was desguised as Swanwick. And my favourite designs here were Steppenwolf and Flash, I think. But everyone looked amazing. Oh, also, the line of "Let's go find this son of a bitch" by Cyborg was filmed around 2016/2017. So way before Endgame. There is the theory that Geoff Johns took Zack's story over to Marvel to take whatever the plot points were and ended up copying his homework. They even have a whole time travel thing going on here. But makes more sense in DC because Flash can do that, while in Endgame it came kinda out of nowhere, instead of dealing with Thanos having the gauntlet like in the comics.
Sadly, the new regime at Warner Brothers wants nothing to do with the Snyderverse so it looks like there will be no Justice League 2. The Flash film was used to reboot everything, so I’ve heard. A lot of the elements of the movie are for the hardcore DC fans and a nod to the DC lore but despite that Zack made a great film. 4 hrs is a lot but when you have to do justice to so many characters it’s all worth it. Shame WB can’t understand this. DC needs to be dark with balanced humor and not go after MCU methods cuz it will never work for their characters.
I’m late as hell to this party but before you compare this to endgame understand this was all like 99% shot in 2015-2016 and released in 2017, about three years before endgame even released.

Except here they have darkseid kill Lois and superman falls prey to the anti-life equation. In injustice Joker kills Lois and Superman becomes a tyrant on his own, with no mind control. This was about darkseid’s conquest of earth. They took one thing from injustice as inspiration ie Lois’ death pushing Superman towards the darkseid. And even still it’s not really Superman, it’s Superman under the control of darkseid via the anti life equation .
Glad you guys watched and enjoyed it. Zack originally planned 2 more JL films to finish his "verse". The original storyboards and plot outlines are on the internet if you look for them. But essentially, **spoilers for movies we may never see*** JL 2 would have been the fall of the league. Darkseid comes to earth and kills Lois as Bruce fails to protect her. Superman comes under the control of anti-life and serves Darkseid. WW and Aquaman are killed. The "Knightmare" timeline is set in motion. Whats left of the league tries to send Flash back in time to warn Bruce so he can save Lois, which he does, sacrificing himself. JL 3 would have been all out war against Darkseid and his forces. Superman unites the armies of the world, Aquaman unites the 7 kingdoms, Wonder Woman leads the Amazons as the God of War. Green Lanterns come to Earth. Lex even gets a redemption arc. If you're interested i definitely suggest looking up the storyboards. WB has just refused to bring Zack back to finish. Still hoping maybe one day.
At first, I thought the Whedon version was very good. However, after seeing this one, Snyder makes that one looks like an armature made it. This cut was soooo much better. I hope somewhere down the line we get a sequel. I wouldn't mind the same actors as well.
It’s worth mentioning that this movie was originally rumored to be a 2 part movie with two different release dates. I think if they had gone through with it that way, it could have been a theatrical success.
Aquaman 2 is scheduled for a dec 20 2023 release date as of yet. They may just release it on max. Depends on how Gunn and the WB ceo feels about the movie and the market. With limited movies out because of the strike; I would keep the date and release it.

Just some clarifications. NO ONE saw the movie you just watched in theaters. It was first released in 2021 on HBO/MAX just as you have just watched. A 4 hour stream broken into 6 parts and an epilogue. This was the film that was originally shot by Zack Snyder before he left the project because of a family tragedy. If Zack had stayed the would have cut down the runtime for theaters but because it was being streamed they just used everything they shot. There was about 10 minutes of new footage. (The Martian Manhunter scenes and the epilogue) The movie that Warner Brothers decided to release in 2018 just call "Justice League" . (called Josstice League by the fandom) was a hatchet job that took a few scene Zack had shot and rewrote a different movie around it and reshot a bunch of scenes. They brought in Joss Weedon to finish the film and he reshot a new movie. Don't make the mistake many others have made and think Zack's movie is an extension or new cut of the movie that was in theaters. The movie in theaters was the alteration of this one. ZSJL does not use any of the reshot footage just whatever Zack had filmed before he left. The Josstice League movie didn't follow the theme of the previous Zack Snyder films. They trying to make it funnier and more fun. It does fit in with the other movies. Martian Manhunter is one of the founding members of the Justice League in the comics and was the heart of the team for years. When DC rebooted the comics in 2011 they made Cyborg a founding member instead. Prior to that he had been a core member of the New Teen Titans.
Best costume? Henry Cavill steals the show when he reveals his black suit. Which is loyal to the comics when after Superman died fighting Doomsday and resurrects in the black suit. -OG

yeah, it sucks that all the actors are no longer playing these characters. But we will see what happens in the future..... If you want to really get into it though, watch all 39 seasons of the "Arrowverse". It's really epic and worth it.
This is the best one, but there are a few things I like better in the theatrical release, like when Lois Lane saves Batman from Superman, this coincidental arrival didn't reflect Batman's always contingency prepared like the other one. Also, saving civilians instead of acting like the fight for Earth happens in a vacuum where there are no humans (the scenes might be a little cheesy, but to my taste, heroes battling villains without the risk of side casualties is a little lazy for battle stories)

Aquaman 2 is still coming out in December, but since James Gunn announced his reboot it'll likely be a flop as any sequel bait is going unanswered like this film has. This film was filmed before Avengers Infinity War & Endgame, so any similarities were being done here first, but because of WB stupidity it came out afterward. Martian Manhunter was the one impersonating Martha. He's a telepathic shape shifting Martian who can read minds. Many don't understand this and say that it ruins the scene that it's not Martha. But the fact is he can read minds so he read Martha's mind and spoke her true feelings, so it still means something. The reason Superman has a problem with Batman when he's attacking everyone is that he's still corrupted with the anti life equation. In the images Cyborg saw before resurrecting Superman you can see Darkseid take hold of Superman as he's holding Lois dead body. Since Batman failed to protect her Darkseid was able to take his body over with the anti life equation. Remember the AI said "The future has taken root in the present" right before Superman returned. Lois being alive broke Darkseid control. All this would've been made more clear in sequels but you can see it all here too. The Flash is faster than Superman, but Superman is close to his speed, he just can't access the Speed Force like The Flash can. Keep in mind the last time Martha saw Clark was when before her kidnapping in BVS, so she literally just got him back. In the comics the Black suit is a regeneration suit. Since he was underground and away from sunlight when he returned he had limited powers and that helped him gain it back by having direct solar energy. In this film it works similarly but not exactly since we can see he still has all his powers. But it does make him stronger and it's a cool visual Easter Egg for readers like me. Ben Affleck is the closest to the comics, with Michael Keaton, Robert Pattinson and Christian Bale being behind him. Kevin Conroy, who did the voice and is the best even stated he felt Affleck got the character the best. Now your mission if you choose to accept it is to watch the JOSStice League version. See what The Avengers director did to the DCEU as his version is what started the DCEU's downhill road

Martian Manhunter is very close to Superman with his strength and flying, but he also has telekinesis, can get through solid matter as a ghost and as we saw, change his physical appearence. His weakness is fire. And yeah, probably since MoS he was desguised as Swanwick.
And my favourite designs here were Steppenwolf and Flash, I think. But everyone looked amazing.
Oh, also, the line of "Let's go find this son of a bitch" by Cyborg was filmed around 2016/2017. So way before Endgame. There is the theory that Geoff Johns took Zack's story over to Marvel to take whatever the plot points were and ended up copying his homework. They even have a whole time travel thing going on here. But makes more sense in DC because Flash can do that, while in Endgame it came kinda out of nowhere, instead of dealing with Thanos having the gauntlet like in the comics.

A lot of the elements of the movie are for the hardcore DC fans and a nod to the DC lore but despite that Zack made a great film. 4 hrs is a lot but when you have to do justice to so many characters it’s all worth it. Shame WB can’t understand this. DC needs to be dark with balanced humor and not go after MCU methods cuz it will never work for their characters.

JL 2 would have been the fall of the league. Darkseid comes to earth and kills Lois as Bruce fails to protect her. Superman comes under the control of anti-life and serves Darkseid. WW and Aquaman are killed. The "Knightmare" timeline is set in motion. Whats left of the league tries to send Flash back in time to warn Bruce so he can save Lois, which he does, sacrificing himself. JL 3 would have been all out war against Darkseid and his forces. Superman unites the armies of the world, Aquaman unites the 7 kingdoms, Wonder Woman leads the Amazons as the God of War. Green Lanterns come to Earth. Lex even gets a redemption arc. If you're interested i definitely suggest looking up the storyboards. WB has just refused to bring Zack back to finish. Still hoping maybe one day.

At first, I thought the Whedon version was very good. However, after seeing this one, Snyder makes that one looks like an armature made it. This cut was soooo much better. I hope somewhere down the line we get a sequel. I wouldn't mind the same actors as well.
It’s worth mentioning that this movie was originally rumored to be a 2 part movie with two different release dates. I think if they had gone through with it that way, it could have been a theatrical success.
Aquaman 2 is scheduled for a dec 20 2023 release date as of yet. They may just release it on max. Depends on how Gunn and the WB ceo feels about the movie and the market.

Just some clarifications. NO ONE saw the movie you just watched in theaters. It was first released in 2021 on HBO/MAX just as you have just watched. A 4 hour stream broken into 6 parts and an epilogue. This was the film that was originally shot by Zack Snyder before he left the project because of a family tragedy. If Zack had stayed the would have cut down the runtime for theaters but because it was being streamed they just used everything they shot. There was about 10 minutes of new footage. (The Martian Manhunter scenes and the epilogue)
The movie that Warner Brothers decided to release in 2018 just call "Justice League" . (called Josstice League by the fandom) was a hatchet job that took a few scene Zack had shot and rewrote a different movie around it and reshot a bunch of scenes. They brought in Joss Weedon to finish the film and he reshot a new movie. Don't make the mistake many others have made and think Zack's movie is an extension or new cut of the movie that was in theaters. The movie in theaters was the alteration of this one. ZSJL does not use any of the reshot footage just whatever Zack had filmed before he left.
The Josstice League movie didn't follow the theme of the previous Zack Snyder films. They trying to make it funnier and more fun. It does fit in with the other movies.

When DC rebooted the comics in 2011 they made Cyborg a founding member instead. Prior to that he had been a core member of the New Teen Titans.

If you want to really get into it though, watch all 39 seasons of the "Arrowverse". It's really epic and worth it.
This is the best one, but there are a few things I like better in the theatrical release, like when Lois Lane saves Batman from Superman, this coincidental arrival didn't reflect Batman's always contingency prepared like the other one. Also, saving civilians instead of acting like the fight for Earth happens in a vacuum where there are no humans (the scenes might be a little cheesy, but to my taste, heroes battling villains without the risk of side casualties is a little lazy for battle stories)

when the 2017 movie came out zack sydner was the director that his daughter died in a car accident so they postponed the movie to find a new director and they got joss whedon from buffy, angel and firefly tv series to do it and he decided to cut 70 percent of zack sydners movie and did his own i liked it but 90 percent of the people hated it and was pissed so after a petition went out to released the synder cut it finally got appoved after like 3 or 4 years but they never meant to continue his saga which he meant to make 3 movies please let me know what you think

This film was filmed before Avengers Infinity War & Endgame, so any similarities were being done here first, but because of WB stupidity it came out afterward.
Martian Manhunter was the one impersonating Martha. He's a telepathic shape shifting Martian who can read minds. Many don't understand this and say that it ruins the scene that it's not Martha. But the fact is he can read minds so he read Martha's mind and spoke her true feelings, so it still means something.
The reason Superman has a problem with Batman when he's attacking everyone is that he's still corrupted with the anti life equation. In the images Cyborg saw before resurrecting Superman you can see Darkseid take hold of Superman as he's holding Lois dead body. Since Batman failed to protect her Darkseid was able to take his body over with the anti life equation. Remember the AI said "The future has taken root in the present" right before Superman returned. Lois being alive broke Darkseid control. All this would've been made more clear in sequels but you can see it all here too.

Keep in mind the last time Martha saw Clark was when before her kidnapping in BVS, so she literally just got him back.
In the comics the Black suit is a regeneration suit. Since he was underground and away from sunlight when he returned he had limited powers and that helped him gain it back by having direct solar energy. In this film it works similarly but not exactly since we can see he still has all his powers. But it does make him stronger and it's a cool visual Easter Egg for readers like me.
Ben Affleck is the closest to the comics, with Michael Keaton, Robert Pattinson and Christian Bale being behind him. Kevin Conroy, who did the voice and is the best even stated he felt Affleck got the character the best.
Now your mission if you choose to accept it is to watch the JOSStice League version. See what The Avengers director did to the DCEU as his version is what started the DCEU's downhill road
Why do you say it is 4 hours long? The Jack Snyder cut of JL in Blue-Ray states it is 120 minutes. That's 2 hours last time I looked.
