Came here as a 12 year old. Shocked that it ended the way it did. My father never stopped talking about our trip there. Only went once. It made that much of an impression.

The shore dinner hall was massive, full of people eating the same thing..huge pots of Manhattan clam chowder, clam cakes, watermelon, kool-aid, everything in buckets and heaps.. eat till you drop!!lol
Almost every year we had class trip to RPoint...
Kissed my first girl there, on that cable car thing.. super easy to fall off of.. lol..
The haunted house still remember it yelling at you as you walk by..1967

I think it’s beautiful there..as much as I miss the old park, I think I like the natural beauty of the space better.

It was red cl chowder but not Manhattan clam chowder and they harvested the quahogs right out of the bay and that’s why most people make it but make it wrong. If your not starting by melting salted pork fat in a pan it won’t be right

Blame the last owners that mismanaged the park, and a fickle public that was moving on to a new set of distractions.

Only one bad memory I can honestly say I have about Rocky Point, and that is meeting my ex douche bag wife there.!!!!! I should have stayed home that fateful day.!!!

So many memories... sad what happened. This is the result of vulture capitalism! The park was making money until a greedy group bought it and used the parks good financial position to leverage it in the ground! A friggin shame!

I went there today. there is nothing really there, It is like a glorified waste land. they should make something from it to give memories of the park.

What a freaking waste. Thank god they run my memory’s into the ground. Oh wow a stupid park.
