Absolutely Fabulous, I have 3 babies. I’ve used a carrier with each, and am quite familiar with them. The only thing wrong is that someone needs to show her how to use it properly. I honestly cannot get over how invested so many people are in this nonsense story that she faked her pregnancy, and doesn’t have a real baby. Also, I’m from America, and I know exactly how the press works here. I also know the tabloid press is nothing but a bunch of lies. Real, impartial, investigative journalism, hardly exist anymore. But again, if you’d like to believe such ridiculous fabrications, more power to you. Also, it’s sad that people are more outraged, and upset over Harry, and Meghan, than they are with the Queen’s son Andrew, who was friends with, and most likely is himself, a pedofile.

I have never seen such a still baby in all my life and I have 2 kids. Same as when she stood around in the hot midday sun with that baby not moving for 2 hours and no hat. The kid didn't move! Would you have had a hat on the baby in the sun? Give me a break!!

I am an older suscriber and the reason I found Joel & Lia is because I was searching for a proper English tea. I love all things British. I would love to visit the UK. I am in love with the Royal Family. The majority of the television I watch is on BBC. I just love all things British and I found Joel & Lia very interesting because you don't use foul language, you positive and upbeat, and you do British things, and show real British living. Hi Lia. I, too, am one of your older viewers. I found you and Joel when I began researching all things British due to my son moving to Bristol for work. I spent several years in Europe in the late 1970 - 1980's but never got over to the UK . With my son's move I knew I'd take the opportunity to visit. I came across you and Joel in my search along with many other sites. However you two are the only ones I truly fell in love with and continue to follow. Thanks so much for all the information and enjoyment you've given me these past couple of years. Who knows, maybe I'll take a trip to your beautiful town when I visit this summer. What made me click the first time was that I was interested in learning about British culture and how different or similar we are. What made me subscribe is not only the very interesting topics, but yours and Joel's hugely entertaining personalities. I laugh out loud at least once during each video I watch. I teach public speaking and sometimes speak by invitation at events when I have some level of related knowledge. Getting nervous before you speak is common and preferable to getting nervous while you speak. The good news is more often you speak to an audience, the more confidence you gain. Keep up the good work!

Great interview - very happy for you. I’m not sure if you have ever been told this but my daughter’s told me I should never brush my hair when it’s wet. I think as an American I cannot really speak to the Harry and Meghan controversy because I don't see the British papers every day. I imagine it's horrible and he will always have the trauma from losing his mother when he was young due to the paparazzi. No doubt that figured significantly into his decision to leave England. Kate Middleton relies heavily on her own mother's presence in her life but Meghan's mother could not do the same for her daughter. It really didn't seem fair to leave her out of her only child and grandchild's lives. Anyway, good luck in your future endeavors and looking forward to seeing your growing success!
Jorl and Lia are a cute act. I've followed you through your trip around the US. Regarding Harry and Meagan. British royalty is one of the remaining residues of Christian monarchy. We moderns think of marriage as primarily romantic and it is strongly that. But marriage (here I mean in Christianity, and I mean as the Catholic that I am) is primarily religious. This is not entirely popular to say. Moderns are very individualistic, however traditionally it is a package deal between the marrying couple and God. It is primarily a vow to God, next a vow to each other. It can mean a committment to family and a heritage. The world won't fall apart if the couple deviates from all this, neither does it mean the marriage becomes invalid. However, it is another example of modern in dividualism over traditional order - T.O. not being popular in our time. It is another crack in the edifice of traditional order, sacrifice, monarchy being a part of that. Other than that I can't venture further judgment.
I loved hearing you express yourself regarding Harry and Megan. They have received so much negative press and are still receiving it. All that does is actually prove their point. The British press has made it practically impossible for them to stay in the country now. It would not surprise me if Megan Markel never went back. When I truly hope that wasn’t all of this does not negatively affect their marriage. Contrary to what is being reported, Prince Harry is a strong, independent guy the good head on his shoulders. They’ll do very well wherever they end up in North America.

Your talk at Google was excellent! I have done lots of public speaking and found you to be well spoken and engaging. The Royal Family: As a retired CPA, I have been irritated with some UK citizens. Most people don't seem to understand their financing. The finer details are on-line; the following is a simplified version. 1) Much of the land was acquired by William the Conqueror starting in 1066. The spoils of war. 2) Nearly 350 years ago, all of the palaces, farms, and commercial properties were transferred into the Crown Estate. Similar to a trust. Held for the benefit of the Royals, but indirectly owned by the citizens. The net income of the properties was deposited in the UK Treasury and a payment (Civil List) was paid to the Sovereign (king or queen) to run their office. (The Sovereign works and incurs expenses on behalf of the citizens.) 3) Starting in 2011, the government streamlined the payments to the Sovereign (Sovereign Grant). Initially, the Queen received 15% of the net income of the Crown Estate. This has risen to 25% to cover the cost of refurbishing Buckingham Palace during the next 10 years. For example, the Sovereign Grant was £43 million in 2017 and has risen to £82 million in 2019 to cover the refurbishing costs. The Queen pays income taxes on her net income and other investments. 4) The government pays for security and the cost of some ceremonial duties separately 5) On average, the monarchy costs each UK citizen £1.25 per year. About $1.60. 6) It is estimated that the Royal Family generates £2 billion per year in tourism alone. Thus, in my opinion, the UK citizens are getting a very nice return on their investment in the Royals! The Queen inherited Sandringham and Balmoral, cash, jewelry and art from her father in 1952. Probably inherited property from her mother and grandmother. Harry and Meghan: From across the pond, I have watched and read about their activities. I am subscribed to The Royal Family Channel on RUclips. This channel includes vlogs of the Royal Family (mostly Queen, Philip, Charles, Anne, Camilla, William, Kate, Harry, Meghan) conduct their duties visiting charities, universities, businesses, foreign tours, etc. As far as I can tell, they have been very busy and doing a great job on behalf of the Queen and the UK citizens. It is estimated that Harry is worth £ 25 - 40 million, resulting from his inheiritances from his mother and the Queen Mother. Meghan is estimated to be worth $5 million from her acting career. Prince Charles pays for their office expenses and probably other personal expenses. They were gifted the USE of their UK residence by the Queen. The Crown Estate funded the long overdue refurbishments (asbestos removal, etc. to Frogmore Cottage). Harry and Meghan paid for the furnishings and fixtures. My understanding is they pay UK income taxes on some if not all of these gifts. Historically, they have not been allowed to have regular, paying jobs. The current negotiations with the Queen will determine what jobs they can take in the future. They will continue to work for the Queen and their charities going forward. PS. Alas, since I wrote the above, they will not be allowed to work for the Queen or UK citizens or retain their HRH titles. If I understand correctly, this is because it will be perceived that outside income is earned as a result of their relationship to the Sovereign which creates a conflict of interest. The question would be if they earned the outside income as a result of their royal position or on their own account. This would be very messy determining how to allocate that income ... to the UK Treasury or to themselves. In my opinion, this was or should have been explained to Harry long, long ago. This situation is similar to the Duke of Windsor. He received a pension after he abdicated in 1936. (He died in 1972.) He was not supposed to earn outside income while receiving the pension. So very sad, for the entire family. Information and knowledge is power! None-the-less, my guess is that Harry and Megan's earning power is multi-million £ or $ per year. They will be financially ok.

I tell you why your channels work from the opinion of one of your older subscribers. I am retired and I love your sense of humor. At first I thought how rude these two young people are, especially when they are bashing Americans. But once I realized that it is all for fun and I figured out your sarcasm isn’t evil, (I got untriggered) I kept coming back for more. Meanwhile, I love to see people traveling and telling me and showing me what the world looks like in parts of the world (and eating their food) also it is places I probably will never visit in person. You and Joel are kind and don’t use foul language constantly, occasionally is ok. You are both not bad to look at either and your family and friends are interesting too. So before your head swells up, I hope this gives you a little insight into why your channels work. I also like your opinion on Megan and Harry. I still don’t understand what it means to be a “Senior Royal”. The one thing about the H & M situation that has resonated with me is that Harry knows how that life tore his mom apart. Of course he doesn’t want that to happen to his wife. They seem like nice people, and I hope they find their way as smoothly as possible.
A "Senior Royal" is ‘any member of the Royal Family who continually carries out duties in their own right and on behalf of the crown’. 1) they must have a high ranking in the royal family (think of it as proximity to the throne) An example is when the Queen's younger children were removed as "Senior Royals" in response to negative public opinion of taxpayer support of the entire Windsor house 2) they carry out duties for the Monarch (cut ribbons, attend charity events, state dinners, etc.) 3) they do so at taxpayer expense and do not hold a private job (most "Senior Royals" represent the Queen between 200 to 300 events each year, so holding a job is not possible) Harry was 6th in line after Charles, William, George, Charlotte & Louis. He was hardly like to ascend to the throne, something he verbally said he did not want even before he met Meghan. Hope that wasn't too much.

Complaints in the future would be based on the idea that so much more and money would be spent over years on the couple. I spent several years in Europe in the late 1970 - 1980's but never got over to the UK . With my son's move I knew I'd take the opportunity to visit. I teach public speaking and sometimes speak by invitation at events when I have some level of related knowledge. Getting nervous before you speak is common and preferable to getting nervous while you speak. The good news is more often you speak to an audience, the more confidence you gain.

I think as an American I cannot really speak to the Harry and Meghan controversy because I don't see the British papers every day. I imagine it's horrible and he will always have the trauma from losing his mother when he was young due to the paparazzi. No doubt that figured significantly into his decision to leave England. Kate Middleton relies heavily on her own mother's presence in her life but Meghan's mother could not do the same for her daughter. Jorl and Lia are a cute act. I've followed you through your trip around the US. Regarding Harry and Meagan. British royalty is one of the remaining residues of Christian monarchy. We moderns think of marriage as primarily romantic and it is strongly that. But marriage (here I mean in Christianity, and I mean as the Catholic that I am) is primarily religious. This is not entirely popular to say. Moderns are very individualistic, however traditionally it is a package deal between the marrying couple and God. It is primarily a vow to God, next a vow to each other. It can mean a committment to family and a heritage. The world won't fall apart if the couple deviates from all this, neither does it mean the marriage becomes invalid. However, it is another example of modern in dividualism over traditional order - T.O. not being popular in our time. It is another crack in the edifice of traditional order, sacrifice, monarchy being a part of that. Other than that I can't venture further judgment.
I loved hearing you express yourself regarding Harry and Megan. They have received so much negative press and are still receiving it. All that does is actually prove their point. The British press has made it practically impossible for them to stay in the country now. It would not surprise me if Megan Markel never went back. When I truly hope that wasn’t all of this does not negatively affect their marriage. Contrary to what is being reported, Prince Harry is a strong, independent guy the good head on his shoulders. They’ll do very well wherever they end up in North America.

The Royal Family: As a retired CPA, I have been irritated with some UK citizens. Most people don't seem to understand their financing. The finer details are on-line; the following is a simplified version.
1) Much of the land was acquired by William the Conqueror starting in 1066. The spoils of war.
2) Nearly 350 years ago, all of the palaces, farms, and commercial properties were transferred into the Crown Estate. Similar to a trust. Held for the benefit of the Royals, but indirectly owned by the citizens. The net income of the properties was deposited in the UK Treasury and a payment (Civil List) was paid to the Sovereign (king or queen) to run their office. (The Sovereign works and incurs expenses on behalf of the citizens.)
3) Starting in 2011, the government streamlined the payments to the Sovereign (Sovereign Grant). Initially, the Queen received 15% of the net income of the Crown Estate. This has risen to 25% to cover the cost of refurbishing Buckingham Palace during the next 10 years. For example, the Sovereign Grant was £43 million in 2017 and has risen to £82 million in 2019 to cover the refurbishing costs. The Queen pays income taxes on her net income and other investments.
4) The government pays for security and the cost of some ceremonial duties separately
5) On average, the monarchy costs each UK citizen £1.25 per year. About $1.60.
6) It is estimated that the Royal Family generates £2 billion per year in tourism alone.
Thus, in my opinion, the UK citizens are getting a very nice return on their investment in the Royals!
The Queen inherited Sandringham and Balmoral, cash, jewelry and art from her father in 1952. Probably inherited property from her mother and grandmother.
Harry and Meghan: From across the pond, I have watched and read about their activities. I am subscribed to The Royal Family Channel on RUclips. This channel includes vlogs of the Royal Family (mostly Queen, Philip, Charles, Anne, Camilla, William, Kate, Harry, Meghan) conduct their duties visiting charities, universities, businesses, foreign tours, etc.
As far as I can tell, they have been very busy and doing a great job on behalf of the Queen and the UK citizens.
It is estimated that Harry is worth £ 25 - 40 million, resulting from his inheiritances from his mother and the Queen Mother. Meghan is estimated to be worth $5 million from her acting career. Prince Charles pays for their office expenses and probably other personal expenses.
They were gifted the USE of their UK residence by the Queen. The Crown Estate funded the long overdue refurbishments (asbestos removal, etc. to Frogmore Cottage). Harry and Meghan paid for the furnishings and fixtures.
My understanding is they pay UK income taxes on some if not all of these gifts.
Historically, they have not been allowed to have regular, paying jobs. The current negotiations with the Queen will determine what jobs they can take in the future. They will continue to work for the Queen and their charities going forward.

PS. Alas, since I wrote the above, they will not be allowed to work for the Queen or UK citizens or retain their HRH titles. If I understand correctly, this is because it will be perceived that outside income is earned as a result of their relationship to the Sovereign which creates a conflict of interest. The question would be if they earned the outside income as a result of their royal position or on their own account. This would be very messy determining how to allocate that income ... to the UK Treasury or to themselves.
In my opinion, this was or should have been explained to Harry long, long ago.
This situation is similar to the Duke of Windsor. He received a pension after he abdicated in 1936. (He died in 1972.) He was not supposed to earn outside income while receiving the pension.
So very sad, for the entire family.

None-the-less, my guess is that Harry and Megan's earning power is multi-million £ or $ per year. They will be financially ok.

I started looking back and can see that Prince Harry didnt seem very happy to be in the public eyes. With everything his mother went through, I understand why he made this choice.

I thought you looked absolutely natural speaking at your meeting. Your hands looked natural as well. As an American I always loved Diana so after the press hounded her to death, I can understand how Harry wants to keep his Wife and Son safe and away from the British tabloids. I hope his relationship with his family can be repaired as well.

I tell you why your channels work from the opinion of one of your older subscribers. I am retired and I love your sense of humor. At first I thought how rude these two young people are, especially when they are bashing Americans. But once I realized that it is all for fun and I figured out your sarcasm isn’t evil, (I got untriggered) I kept coming back for more. Meanwhile, I love to see people traveling and telling me and showing me what the world looks like in parts of the world (and eating their food) also it is places I probably will never visit in person. You and Joel are kind and don’t use foul language constantly, occasionally is ok. You are both not bad to look at either and your family and friends are interesting too. So before your head swells up, I hope this gives you a little insight into why your channels work. I also like your opinion on Megan and Harry. Keep up the good work, you are awesome Lia and Joel and Lia, long may you reign!

I still don’t understand what it means to be a “Senior Royal”. The one thing about the H & M situation that has resonated with me is that Harry knows how that life tore his mom apart. Of course he doesn’t want that to happen to his wife. They seem like nice people, and I hope they find their way as smoothly as possible.
A "Senior Royal" is ‘any member of the Royal Family who continually carries out duties in their own right and on behalf of the crown’.
1) they must have a high ranking in the royal family (think of it as proximity to the throne) An example is when the Queen's younger children were removed as "Senior Royals" in response to negative public opinion of taxpayer support of the entire Windsor house
2) they carry out duties for the Monarch (cut ribbons, attend charity events, state dinners, etc.) 3) they do so at taxpayer expense and do not hold a private job (most "Senior Royals" represent the Queen between 200 to 300 events each year, so holding a job is not possible)
Harry was 6th in line after Charles, William, George, Charlotte & Louis. He was hardly like to ascend to the throne, something he verbally said he did not want even before he met Meghan.

Hi Lia, love your videos! Instead of a brush with wet hair I suggest you use a plastic pik to detangle - it's more gentle on your hair, it's what I use after a shower 😍

Lia - I love how understanding, reasonable and level headed you are about Harry and Meghan. You are simply awesome. As an FYI, it was negotiated from the beginning (by the Sussex’s) that the money made by the Disney voice over was to be donated to an elephant rescue charity. Their commercial endeavors are to benefit their charities. So very proud of them and their global philanthropy. ❤️

Complaints in the future would be based on the idea that so much more and money would be spent over years on the couple. Everyone has an opinion and they need to do what's best for their marriage and their son.

Lia I think that you are a person who would be good at public speaking as you are a trained actress. I think you should do more of them.I think that that Megan and Harry should do what they want because other royal families have done this I think that it was the royals from Norway, Denmark or Sweden the second in line moved their family to New York city and have lived there for years. What is wrong with working for your country in their embassy or for a nonprofit organization what is the big issue? We in America are impeaching a sitting president for doing things against the Constitution. If Harry and Megan want to move and do something different go for it. I am one of your older subscribers I like watching your videos because I learn about another culture and another generation I really enjoy it. Keep on doing what you're doing.
