Mike Hoge was the main Face behind the original Gothic series but he left many years ago. The new devs now much better what makes gothic so fantastic. They are all fans
@@Altairix1 took me 1-2 hours to get used to the controls and ypu have to play in performance mode for the game not to crash but I have to admit I have more fun with it than I did with all (new) games in the last years (and the only games that were fun to me were BG3, AC Mirage and Stray)
Same. I never played the originals as a kid. I would’ve grabbed it if no remake was in sight, but I recently played some Risen and if the gameplay gets even clunkier than that I don’t know if I have the willpower to put up with it lol

It's like the early version of game i guess, we have to be patient because even the official release date is unknown. It means, that many things that can be seen on the trailer, can be fixed and modified.
Looks great, only the close combat movements in the clip seem relatively stiff. But that's probably because all games are so hectic these days 😄 I'm definitely looking forward to it.
It's probably showing off how bad the character is handling weapons without training. In the Original melee combat is also very slow and stiff until you train the proper skills for one handed or two handed combat.

Sometimes the fights look awesome, but other times not so much. And please don't forget about optimization. The most important thing is the atmosphere - 10/10 Graphics - 8/10 Animations - 7/10 Combat - sometimes 5, sometimes 7/10 I hope everything turns out great. I'm really looking forward to the game's release. And please, don't make the game too casual. Just a thought.

Gothic games were atrociously bad but one of the most addictive games. You can't stop playing for some mysterious reason. I have played all of them including the expansions. Thanks to the dev for remaking this.

Since i'm too young, i never played this game, but i heard that, differently from other open worlds, this one has a smaller map but with diverse and well packed content. Is it true? I always criticize open worlds for being too repetitive in their content, and if this one has a smaller map with different content, i'm all for it. Can someone confirm?
So theres only 2 gothic games? Hopefully they remake the second as well because this one looks amazing. That walking through the trees while its storming and that green jungle area look really immersive
I hope they will make it more immersive than a trailer. Even the animation of Pick-Axe digging is funny. Instead of hitting from over your head, they use it from the side like cutting the tree down. Even the killing blow on the guard, is from the side. For me this is immersion breaking, its a basic use of the tool.
Love the dark atmosphere, fits great. Music check. Nameless hero check. Diego check. Music, magic. Magicians & stained glass. Swamps in particular looks amazing. And boy I can climb. And kill sound is original!! Definetly a preorder here. Couldn't be happier with the direction they took! Take my moneeeyyy!!
One of my most favourite games ever. I never really played much of a Elder Scrolls games but played so much Gothic and especially Night of Raven. Can't wait to dive back in.
Something to definitely bide my time until the new Elder Scrolls….the original was awesome back in the day. I don’t even need new games, im still playing the following; Skyrim, The Witcher games, Starfield, Fable games….the last game I bought was the new College football game and I’m enjoying it. Been a long time since I played a football game.
